Life-Cycle Home Ownership and Residential Patterns: An Empirical Analysis of Home Ownership Across Generations (생애주기별 주택소유와 주거유형: 연령대별 손바뀜 현상에 대한 실증분석)

  • In the present article we examine life-cycle housing demand for Korea. Distinguished in this work from prior research is the consideration of non-monocinity in the life-cycle housing demand. To this end, we adopt spline logistic regression models. Our findings suggest that life-cyclicity is most clear in Korean housing demand; namely, 1) small (mid-large) house ownership falls (grows) dramatically as households age into middle aged; 2) middle aged households do not participate in the rental or purchase market actively; 3) elderly population does not dispose of their housing to the same extent as younger generations acquire housing.

Chromatographic Determination of Amino Acids in Nonprotein and Protein Fraction Of Undaria Pinnatifida

  • The amino acid compositions of the protein and the nonprotein fractions obtained from a marine brown alga, 'Undaria pinnatifida' were determined by use of Ion Exchange Column Chromatography. The protein nitrogen in the alga was about ten times of the nonprotein nitrogen. Nonprotein fraction obtained from the extraction with 80 percent ethanol contains considerable amount of tree citrulline. Alanine content in the alga was the highest (about 1 per cent in dry weight) and one third of which was found in free state. The amino acid composition of the alga was well balanced and the content of the essential amino acids were relatively higher, than soybean protein. In addition, several peptide like substances were fractionated from nonprotein fraction, in which one way identified as a naturally occurring new tripeptide composed of alanine, glutamic acid and aspartic acid, and the remaining unknown substances are under investigation for the further information.

  • This paper intends to provide applied economists which study the effects of research and development with valuable information on econometric model selection. It includes extensive discussion on econometric models which have been applied for the study on the relationship between research and development and productivity. In particular, it compares various stochastic production frontier models which have been developed recently. The discussion decomposes them into models with scaling property and the ones with nonscaling property as well as models with monotonic and nonmonotonic relationships between research and development and productivity. Finally, this paper applies the models to two different panel data sets (firm level data and country level data) and compare estimation results from competing econometric models.

  • The effects of the yeast, Phaffia rhodozyme in the diet on growth, body composition, muscle elasticity and pigmentation of Israeli strain of common carp, colored carp and Nile tilapia were investigated. Ten percent of the yeast was added to semi purified diet as an experimental feed 1. Ten percent of brewers yeast in the semi purified diet (experimental feed 2) was tested for comparing the growth performance between two semi purified diets. A commercial diet was also used for the check of growth rate of the semi purified diets. All experimental fish were fed for 10 weeks. The weight gains among the experimental fish were not significantly different (P>0.05). There were not significantly different in body composition, muscle elasticity among the the fishes fed three experimental diets. There were significant differences (P<0.05) of pigment deposition in the muscle of Israeli strain of common can and on the skin of colored carp between treated and non treated group. But there were no differences of pigment deposition in flesh and skin of tilapia among the three diets.

Effect of Germination on the Quality and Amino acid Composition of Soymilk (대두발아(大豆發芽)가 대두유(大豆乳)의 품질(品質) 및 아미노산(酸) 조성(組成)에 미치는 영향)

  • Changes in the quality and amino acid composition of soymilk prepared from soaked and germinated soybeans were investigated. Soybeans were soaked in water for 3 hrs and germinated at $18{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ for 5 days followed by water extraction at room temperature, and then the soymilk was boiled for 30 min. The initial yields of total solid and protein after soaking were 80.7% and 88.6%, respectively and decreased slowly during germination. A slow decrease in lipids and a rapid reduction in total sugar content were found during germination. The change in protein fraction content of soymilk showed an initial increase followed by a gradual decrease. The intrinsic viscosity increased rapidly after 3 days of germination to maximum value at 4th day, then decreased. The amino acid composition of protein fraction of soymilk showed little change while that of nonprotein fraction changed significantly. After 4 days of germination, aspartic acid and alanine increased more than twice, and methionine and tyrosine decreased to half of their initial composition in soymilk prepared from soaked soybean.

Frequent Pattern Mining By using a Completeness for BigData (빅데이터에 대한 Completeness를 이용한 빈발 패턴 마이닝)

  • Most of those studies use frequency, the number of times a pattern appears in a transaction database, as the key measure for pattern interestingness. It prerequisites that any interesting pattern should occupy a maximum portion of the transactions it appears. But in our real world scenarios the completeness of any pattern is more likely to become various in transactions. Hence, we should also consider the problem of finding the qualified patterns with the significant values of the weighted support by completeness in order to reduce the loss of information within any pattern in transaction. In these pattern recommendation applications, patterns with higher completeness may lead to higher recall while patterns with higher completeness may lead to higher recall while patterns with higher frequency lead to higher precision. In this paper, we propose a measure of weighted support and completeness and an algorithm WSCFPM(weigted support and completeness frequent pattern mining). Our algorithm handles the invalidation of the monotone or anti-monotone property which does not hold on completeness. Extensive performance analysis show that our algorithm is very efficient and scalable for word pattern mining.

  • 본 논문에서는 경유가격에 의한 시장왜곡의 한 측면으로서 우리나라 기업의 물류 투자가 상대적으로 낮게 이루어지고 있음을 지적하고자 한다. 낮은 경유가격으로 상품의 원가는 당분간 낮게 유지될 수 있었을지 모르나 결국 물류투자의 수준을 낮추어 물류설비 수준을 적정이하로 만든 요인이 되며, 이는 다시 물류비용을 증가시키고 결국 원가상승(原價上昇) 요인으로 작용하여 국제경쟁력에 미치는 종합적 효과는 불분명하다고 할 수 있는 것이다. 이러한 문제점은 비단 경유가격에만 한정되는 것이 아니라 산업용 전력요금 등 여타의 경우에도 적용된다. 산업의 경쟁력과 물가안정을 위해서 특정재화의 가격을 낮게 유지하는 것은 결국 가격구조를 왜곡하게 되고 다른 부수적인 문제점을 수반하게 되어 적정수준이 아닌 자원배분(資源配分)을 일으키게 된다. 따라서 산업정책(産業政策)의 일환으로 추진되어온 경유에 대한 가격규제는 보다 합리적인 자원배분(資源配分)을 위하고 장기적인 산업경쟁력(産業競爭力)을 고려하여 신중히 재검토되어야 할 것이다.

Protein and Amino Acid Compositions in Echiurid and Sea Hare Muscles (개불과 군소육의 단백질 및 아미노산 조성)

  • In order to evaluate the marine mollusc muscle as foodstuff not only from the biochemical aspect but also from the view point of food science, we have analyzed the protein and amino acid compositions of the echiurid (Urechis unicinctus) and sea hare (Aplysia kurodai) muscle. The protein quality of the muscles was also investigated using in vitro methods based on in vitro digestibility, predicted digestibility, computed PER (C-PER) and discriminant computed PER(DC-PER). The remarkable feature of the protein compositions of the both muscles was that water soluble protein occupied a large amount of the muscle protein with fairly lower contents of the salt soluble protein. From the analysis of SDS-PAG electrophoresis, the sarcoplasmic proteins in the echiurid and the sea hare muscles were composed of 15 and 10 subunits, respectively. The free amino acid compositions of the total amino acids in the echiurid and sea hare muscle were characterized with $75\%$ of glycine and alanine, and with $78\%$ of taurine, respectively. The amino acid anaylsis of both muscle proteins showed that the echiurid muscle was rich in glycine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, arginine and lysine, but was poor in cysteine, while the sea hare muscle was rich in glycine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and arginine, but was negligible in cysteine and tryptophan. In the total amino acid profiles of the freeze dried muscles in echiurid and sea hare, there was not found a significant difference compared to the amino acid compositions of the muscle proteins. Predicting the protein quality of the echiurid and sea hare muscles using the in vitro method, it was apparently low compared to the muscle protein of fishes.

들깻잎을 이용한 Appenzeller Cheese의 품질 특성

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 치즈 소비 추세가 피자와 가공치즈의 소비 한계가 드러나고 친환경, 건강 기능성, 순수 자연 치즈를 찾는 웰빙형 소비시대가 올 것을 대비하여 국산 자연치즈 소비증진을 위해 한국인의 취향과 기호성을 고려한 한국형 치즈제조기술 개발을 위해 수행되었다. 최근 기능성 식품재료로 주목 받는 들깻잎을 각 함량 별로(0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%)첨가하여 치즈를 제조하고 숙성중 생균수, 가용성 질소화합물 (NCN), 12% TCA 가용성 질소화합물 (비단백태 질소화합물, NPN),산도, pH 및 전기영동상의 변화 그리고 관능성을 검사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 공시치즈의 숙성 중 NCN, NPN 의 변화는 대조구에 비하여 들깻잎 첨가비가 높은 치즈일수록 현저히 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다.
