Adsorption Mechanism of Radioactive Cesium by Prussian Blue (프러시안 블루(PB)의 방사성 세슘 흡착 메커니즘 연구)

  • Since the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant, Prussian blue (PB) has attracted increasing attention as a material for use in decontaminating the environment. We have focused the fundamental mechanism of specific $Cs^+$ adsorption into PB in order to develop high-performance PB-based $Cs^+$ adsorbents. The ability of PB to adsorb Cs varies considerably according to its origin such as what synthesis method was used, and under what conditions the PB was prepared. It has been commonly accepted that the exclusive abilities of PB to adsorb hydrated $Cs^+$ ions are caused by regular lattice spaces surrounded by cyanido-bridged metals. $Cs^+$ ions are trapped by simple physical adsorption in the regular lattice spaces of PB. $Cs^+$ ions are exclusively trapped by chemical adsorption via the hydrophilic lattice defect sites with proton-exchange from the coordination water. Prussian blue are believed to hold great promise for the clean-up of $^{137}Cs$ contaminated water around nuclear facilities and/or after nuclear accidents.

  • Bluetooth technology has been applied to mobile device, personal computers, peripherals, information and variety of consumer electronics. Not also the original Bluetooth technology must be especially focused in the application of mobile phone but applications such as wireless headsets and dial-up networking may be increased. However Bluetooth is so only focused to wireless headset application that the various software applications are presently ignored. In this paper, we propose the framework design to implement Bluetooth profile for kiosk servers, which can be used in Theater, train station, bank, government and public offices. Then mobile devices capable of processing user's input/output can be remotely accessed in these servers by using Bluetooth module and AP, although Kiosk servers are only processed user input data.

  • 최근 와이파이, 블루투스 등 근거리 무선 통신 기술의 발달로 홈네트워크, U-City, 홈오토메이션 등의 실생활 적용이 가능해졌다. 이미 삼성, LG 등의 기업에서는 관련 제품을 양산 및 판매하고 있으며 그 기술의 관련연구 또한 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 기존 제품 및 시스템들은 가격이 높고 인터넷을 기반으로 운용되기 때문에 AP (Access Point)가 반드시 존재하여야 하며 가정 내의 모든 전자기기들을 연동시키기 위해 구현이 복잡하다는 문제점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해 기존 와이파이 다이렉트 및 블루투스의 D2D (Device-to-Device) 기술을 적용하여 AP의 필요성을 없애고 불필요한 연동을 제외하며 간단한 구현을 요구하는 저가의 제품을 개발하고자 한다. 실험적인 구현을 위해 모터 및 카메라 제어, 타이머, 통신 등이 가능한 AVR ATmega169 마이크로 컨트롤러와 스마트폰을 사용하여 원격 디지털도어락 관리 시스템을 제안한다.

Hierarchical Regression Analysis of Subjective Health Perception and Eating-out Selection Attributes of Elderly People (실버세대의 주관적 건강인식도와 외식선택속성의 위계적 회귀분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined the subjective health recognition, motivation, selection property, consumption realties, and generalities of elderly people eating out. The ratio of women eating out in those over 60 years of ages was high and people in that age group ate out most actively. The score of convenience-oriented, gourmet-oriented, and dignity-oriented of the selection property for eating out increased with increasing frequency and expenditure for eating out. With increasing age, a negative (-) relationship with a decrease in the safety-oriented score of the selection property for eating out was predicted. As the number of days eating out increased, a positive (+) relationship with an increase in the safety-oriented score of the selection property for eating out was observed. As the scores of physical and social health perception increased, a positive (+) relationship with an increase in the gourmet oriented score was observed. Based on the results, various research on the relationship between the health recognition and eating out behavior of those over 60 years of age are required.

  • 본 과제는 기존의 기술의 현황으로 건강 검진 검사 하는데 오랜 시간과 비용이 많이 소요된다. 그로 인해 저소득층이나 교통이 어려운 곳에 위치한 섬 마을 등에서는 진료가 굉장히 어렵고 부담이 된다. 스마트 건강검진 키트는 간단한 부착을 통해 바이탈을 한번에 측정이 가능하고 그 결과를 그래프화 하여 검사 결과를 일반인도 한 눈에 볼 수 있게하며 그리고 수치를 표시하여 문제가 있을 시 그 수치를 정상수치와 비교하여 블루투스를 통해 의사에게 보낼 수 있도록 목표를 설정하였다. 진료 전 맥파(PPGA), 혈중산소포화도(SpO2), 심전도(ECG), 체온 센서를 활용하여 바이탈 수치를 한번에 측정하고 수치화된 정보를 그래프화 시켜 나타내어 의사에게 결과를 수신하여 기초진단에 필요한 시간적 문제를 줄인다. 또한 기초 진단에 문제가 있을 경우 환자 개인에게도 수신하여 자신의 진료 당시 기초 진단 정보와 일반적인 경우와 비교할 수 있도록 활용할 수 있다.

  • Conventional one-way cramming education at schools has the disadvantage of poor student interest in learning, immersion, and learning efficiency as well as a limitation in realizing collective intelligence and collaborative learning. Therefore, an educational content service platform using a near-field communication(NFC) technology is required as a tool for encouraging the voluntary learning participation of students and increasing learning effectiveness through self-directed studying. This study focuses on the development of an educational content production system that creates high-quality education contents suitable for smart schools. In these schools, students and teachers generally communicate through an electronic blackboard using Bluetooth, which is an NFC technology. Further, the lecture notes of individual students are reproduced and collected as big data, which will facilitate the sharing of these notes.

Relationship between family structure and breakfast habits among Korean adolescent (청소년의 가족구조와 아침식사 식습관 간의 관련성)

  • Objective: Recently, Korean adolescent has the problems of nutrition unbalance due to bad eating habits. Also, single-parent and step-parent families have consistently increased because of the increase of divorce rates. Adolescent who lives with a single or step family tends to have unhealthy behaviors and habits. The purpose of this study was to analyze relationship between family structure and irregular breakfast among Korean adolescent. Method: We analyzed 60,040 participants from Korean Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey 2018. Study variables included family structure and irregular breakfast. Control variables were sex, school, economic status, parent education levels, drinking, smoking and nutrition education. In terms of this study, descriptive, Chi-square and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed. Results: After adjusting for socio-demographic variables among boys, family structure was associated with irregular breakfast (living with both parents reference group vs living with single-parent : OR 1.250, 95% CI: 1.142, 1.368). Among girls, after adjusting for control variables, family structure was also associated with irregular breakfast (living with both parents reference group vs living with no both parents : OR 1.409, 95% CI: 1.065, 1.865). Conclusion: According to this study, family structure would be a risk factor of adolescent breakfast habit. Nutrition programs for adolescent should consider these factors.

Direct Synthesis of Au/TiO2/graphene Composites and Their Application for Degradation of Various Organic Dyes (그래파이트로부터 직접 제조한 Au/TiO2/그래핀 복합체와 이를 이용한 염료의 광분해에 관한 연구)

  • In this research, we synthesized Au/TiO2/graphene composites using ionic surfactants for the exfoliation of graphite layers, directly. In the graphene composite, TiO2 with thin nanosheet shapes was distributed on the graphene surface and Au nanoparticles with less than 10 nm sizes were evenly distributed on the surface of the TiO2 nanosheets. The Au/TiO2/graphene composite was then applied to the photodegradation of various dyes such as methylene blue, methylene orange and rhodamine 6G, and B. Among them, the methylene blue showed the most excellent photodegradation activity (91.6%) while the rhodamine B exhibited 31.0%.

  • Radionuclides, particularly radioactive cesium (Cs), are a concern of human health in some nuclear power accidents. It could lead to a high level of intracellular accumulation due to its high radioactivity and long half-life. Therefore, it is imperative to develop a method to remove Cs from wastewater. Herein, we synthesized activated carbon fibers (ACFs) doped with Prussian blue (PB) via in situ methods. We classified samples by their preparation method as either physical (PB-ACF-A) or physicochemical (PB-ACF-B) syntheses for comparison. The PB-ACF-B sample showed a significant surface loss compared to PB-ACF-A but a better 133Cs adsorption capacity. All samples fit well to Langmuir isotherms and the values of qmax were directly correlated to the amount of PB on the surface of the ACFs. Adsorption characteristics were further confirmed by the calculated free energy, enthalpy, and entropy.

  • Based on Korea's Hydrogen Economy Activation Roadmap, an annual supply of 5.26 million tonnes of hydrogen is required by 2040. But if the hydrogen production from byproduct, extraction, and electrolysis of water is not able to meet the target which is 50% of total production, it would be necessary to increase the portion of imported hydrogen. Therefore, it is essential to secure a variety of sources for overseas production. In this technical report, hydrogen production/transportation policies, current condition, and future prospects of Canada, a major supply candidate, is examined and an example of blue hydrogen project which is considered the most realistic hydrogen supply method is introduced.
