본 연구는 유방절제수술을 받은 여성들이 착용하는 브래지어와 보정물의 중량을 결정하는데 필요한 예비자료를 수집하기 위하여 중년여성 12명을 대상으로 31항목에 대한 인체계측 및 석고법에 의한 유방용적측정을 실시하고 얻어진 유방관련 항목자료와 각 치수별 무게자료를 비교.분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1.유방용적 측정결과 모든 피험자에 있어 오른쪽과 왼쪽 유방용적에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 2. 브래지어 컵 치수는 가슴둘레와 밑가슴둘레간의 차이로 결정되는 것이므로 유방용적과 브래지어 치수의 크기가 일치하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 3.절반 이상의 피험자가 자신의 브래지어 치수를 잘못 선택하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This study investigates changes in body size (as well as fit) before/after wear, according to the breast and brassiere type. To offer producers basic data on how to develop excellent brassieres, we accordingly conducted preliminary research on 183 20's women. The research revealed that breast-related size and fit change by about 10%; however, the upper length and inner length of breasts decreases. The fit of domed ones is the best and the fit of the elongated ones is the worst; subsequently, a closer representation of the ideal breast leads to a better fit to wear.

The purpose of this study is to suggest size specifications for the development of mastectomy bras and breast prostheses. To collect anthropometric data, 250 middle aged women's body measurement were taken and the data were analyzed by statistical methods such as ANOVA, correlation analysis, factor analysis and cluster analysis. The results of the analysis of measurement data showed that lengths. breadths, depths, circumferences are increased significantly when getting older. The results of the correlation analysis showed that there was no direct linear relationship between chest circumference and cup size. From 29 measurements, 4 factors were selected as key factors by the tractor analysis and the breast type were classified into 2 groups by cluster analysis. To set up sizing systems for the mastectomy brassiere, chest circumference and cup size were selected and the loss function was used to decide Intervals of each of them. 6 sizes from chest circumference and 4 sizes from cup sizes were picked, Breast breadth, breast length and breast height were chosen to establish sizing systems for the breast prosthesis. To decide intervals of each of them, the loss function was used and 8 sizes from composition of the 3 factors were picked.

The purpose of this study was to define Korean adolescent girls' brassiere size demand features in order to improve the suitability of junior brassieres for adolescent girls. The subjects for the data collection were Korean teenage girls from age 13 to 17 (n=492). Their body size was collected by conducting anthropometric measurement. The results of this study show that not only the growth of height, but also the growth of the body length is almost finished at the age of 15. The brassiere cup size, which shows the breast growth directly, increased remarkably at age 13 to 14, and once again at age 17. The demand for brassiere band size 70 appeared generally high among all ages. The research also suggests that the band size 60 and over 85 is also needed among the teenage girls. In matters of the brassiere cup size, junior brassieres over B-cup size are also necessary for teenage girls with big breasts to support their heavy breast weight. These results imply that the junior brassiere companies should improve their brassiere size range to fit the teenage girls' breasts properly.

To set the measurements of bras for women in their 20s, considering the comfortableness in wearing and tightness, this paper conducted a questionnaire survey concerning breasts and bras as well as measurements of body and contact surface pressure. Easier and more accurate method of determining cup sizes based on the breast circumference is recommended to make up for the problem of current bra size system that can falsely measure cup sizes. Lower chest circumference was set at 5 cm equal intervals, and the breast circumference applicable to the cup size was set starting from the standard, 18 cm (A-cup), at 2 cm equal intervals, which gave the best coverage (88.1%).

The purpose of this study was to investigate the suitability of brassiere size and wearing habits of Korean adolescent girls. Subjects were 13 to 17 years old girls (n=282). The data was collected by anthropometric survey and qualitative questionnaire survey. Anthropometric survey measured bust and under bust girths; Qualitative questionnaire survey focused on the practice of purchasing and wearing of brassiere. Two general conclusions emerged: 1) Majority of Korean adolescent girls wore a smaller sized cup than their breast volume 2) Korean adolescent girls wore a larger sized band. These results show the need of educating Korean adolescent girls for their appropriate brassiere size and fit. The value of the brassiere that Korean adolescent girls place differed by age. While the younger adolescent girls expected their brassiere to prevent showing the breast vibration, the older adolescent girls expected their brassiere to avoid breast sagging. The older aged adolescents more valued the fit and style of the brassiere compared to the younger aged group when they purchase brassiere. The younger adolescent girls were more likely to be dissatisfied with the fit of the cup. These results reveal that the junior brassiere should be designed to fit adolescent girls' breast shape and size.

To provide the basic data to manufacture superior brassiere, this study was analyzed the evaluation of wear sensation of brassiere and the satisfaction of breast type by breast circumference and volume of 182 twenties-aged women. The results were as follows: First, it was reliable to set up the cup size of brassiere by using the breast circumference. Hemispherical breast was the same as cone-shaped breast in breast classification by breast circumference and volume. Second, the breast sizes were able to classify into under 200cc, 200~300cc, 300~400cc, and over 400cc by volume, but measuring the volume was more difficult than measuring the breast circumference. Last, there were correlations between breast circumference and breast volume by breast type. And there were differences on improvement, brassiere size, and the satisfaction of breast type by breast circumference and volume. This results will give basic informations for brassiere design that reflects breast type according to breast circumference and volume for functional brassiere.

The purpose of this study is to dvelop the basic pattern of wome which are fitting for 75A. The collected data were statistcally processed usig the SPSS 10.0 for Mans Standard Deiation, Cronbach's $\alpha$, etc. This study suggested a size chart for body measurement for constructing basic brssiere patterns with size of 75A. The construction of this experimental brassiere were lower cup, upper cup, front panel and wing and characterized by a round cup wired as well as a full cup embrcing the entire breasts. The drafting method for constructing basic brassiere patterns for 75A was completed by selecting a total of 11subjects, and two wearing tests were carried out with the subjects. the dimensions and shapes of the basic brassiere pattern suggested in this research proved to be fitting and to have a wearing effect that brings together and supports the breasts.

The purpose of this study is to develop the basic patterns of adult womens brassiere therewith, provide for some basic data useful to the brassiere manufacturing which are both functional and fitting. For this purpose, 220 adults women(aged between 20 and 59) were sampled to be measured for their body sizes and tested for their brassiere wearing. The collected data were statistically processed using the SAS 6.12 for Means, Standard Deviation, etc. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. In order to develop the basic patterns of adult womens brassieres, 75A size was selected out of 12 size combination(3 women per 75A size) and then, their brassiere fitting was tested. As a result, the fronts of the basic patterns were found to have such problems as undone front center, poor levelling of upper cups bottom line or lower cups top line, poor shape of upper cups outside top line and shoulder strip position. On the other hand, n the rear side of the basic patterns, the central part of the wing was slightly lifted, while the wing width and straps interval did not befit the full-cup brassiere. The result of this first brassiere fitting test showed that the functionality and aesthetics of the basic pattern brassieres were more or less satisfactory, and thus, the problems were address for the second test. In the second test, the aesthetics, breast-shaping effect and functionality of the basic pattern brassieres were much improved. 2. The basic patterns of adult womens brassieres were characterized by a round cup wired as well as a full cup embracing the entire breasts. Each basic pattern which consisted of upper and lower cups was shaped \"straight(-)\". The basic sizes adopted at the first design stage (see fig. 1-2) was 75A of which was designed as upper foundation basic pattern. At the second stage, the upper body foundation pattern were used to design lower cup, upper cup, front panel and wing in their order.(see fig. 3-5, fig. 8)5, fig. 8)

The spread of internet brought the rapid development of on-line shopping mall, but the information of clothing-related products especially underwears in on-line shopping mall is still poor. Thus, in this paper, we investigated the dimension status and problems of brassieres selling at on-line shopping malls and suggest improving solutions. We surveyed the sales sizes and sales status of brassieres for four top-sales on-line malls and analyzed them based on both of Korean Standards and SizeKorea2005, the measurement data of Korean women's sizes. The results showed that almost of brassieres were for adults(98.8%), and for general purpose(97.8%) while the sales rates of specially targeted products for teen-ager or functional products for nursing mom were very low. Also, we noticed that Korean Standards covers most of SizeKorea measurements of women, but brassieres of only a small portion of size in Korean Standards were manufactured and sold at on-line shopping mall. It means that consumers who do not belong to the sector of most frequent body measurement range suffer difficulties in purchase of brassieres by on-line shopping. Thus, it is required to gather more accurate information about body size of potential consumers and to offer wider range of sizes and target-specific products for the activation of on-line shopping.
