Data quality analysis of microwave precipitation observation station and distributed specific differential phase retrieval (전파강수관측소 자료 품질분석 및 분포형 비차등위상차 산정)

  • 환경부는 기존 대형 강우레이더 관측망에 대한 동해안 지역 관측공백 해소와 집중호우에 의한 재해예방을 목적으로 2기의 전파강수관측소를 삼척과 울진 통고산에 구축 운영하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 삼척 및 울진 전파강수관측소 관측 자료 품질 향상을 위한 다양한 품질 분석 기법을 소개하고 그 결과를 제시한다. 설치된 전파강수관측소의 시스템 특성 중 하나인 Short/Long 펄스 신호에 따른 자료의 연속/불연속성 및 피뢰침에 의한 자료 품질, 그리고 강수에 의한 신호감쇠에 따른 유효관측거리 등을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 기반으로 신호보정옵셋 및 피뢰침 위치 등을 조정하여 자료 품질을 향상하였다. 또한 삼척과 울진 전파강수관측소를 대상으로 분포형 비차등위상차 산정 기술을 적용하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 비차등위상차는 시스템 편차나 우박 등의 영향에서 자유로워 특히 전파강수관측소와 같은 X 밴드 정량강우 추정에서 중요하다. 일반적으로 비차등위상차는 차등위상차에 대한 필터링 기법으로 산출하는데, 이 방법은 약한 강수에 대해 변동성이 크며 지형에코 등에 의해 영향을 크게 받는다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 일반적인 필터링 기법에 의한 비차등위상차와 분포형 기법을 적용한 비차등위상차에 대해 비교 분석을 하였다. 전파강수관측소 강우 자료를 이용한 분포형 비차등위상차 시험적용 결과 기존 비차등위상차에 비해 정성적으로 우위를 보임을 알 수 있었다.

Wavelet-based Pitch Detector for 2.4 kbps Harmonic-CELP Coder (2.4 kbps 하모닉-CELP 코더를 위한 웨이블렛 피치 검출기)

  • This paper presents the methods that design the Wavelet-based pitch detector for 2,4 kbps Harmonic-CELP Coder, and that achieve the effective waveform interpolation by decision window shape of the transition region, Waveform interpolation coder operates by encoding one pitch-period-sized segment, a prototype segment, of speech for each frame, generate the smooth waveform interpolation between the prototype segments for voiced frame, But, harmonic synthesis of the prototype waveforms between previous frame and current frame occur not only waveform errors but also discontinuity at frame boundary on that case of pitch halving or doubling, In addtion, in transition region since waveform interpolation coder synthesizes the excitation waveform by using overlap-add with triangularity window, therefore, Harmonic-CELP fail to model the instantaneous increasing speech and synthesis waveform linearly increases, First of all, in order to detect the precise pitch period, we use the hybrid 1st pitch detector, and increse the precision by using 2nd ACF-pitch detector, Next, in order to modify excitation window, we detect the onset, offset of frame by GCI, As the result, pitch doubling is removed and pitch error rate is decreased 5.4% in comparison with ACF, and is decreased 2,66% in comparison with wavelet detector, MOS test improve 0.13 at transition region.

  • The The contactless railway abrasion measurement system have to satisfy two conditions to increase the measurement accuracy as follows. The laser region projected on the rail have to be extracted without the geometrical distortion. The mapping of the acquired laser region data on the rail profile have to be matched with the cross section of rail, exactly. But, the conventional railway abrasion measurement system is required the post image processing with a camera model and a perspective transform for the exact mapping between the cross section of rail and the coordinate data extracted from a line laser region or the raw image obtained from a camera because the image captured from the camera has an oblique viewpoint. So, the measured rail profile data had limits to the measurement accuracy because of a discontinuity point. In this Paper, we propose the 3D rail profile reconstruction method to increase the accuracy of the railway abrasion measurement system applying the modified camera model and perspective transform to the image obtained from the bidirectional rail.

  • An expanded scheme of a direct numerical solution method for solving the Navier-Stokes equation considering the modified boundary conditions for gas lubrication with ultra low clearance at high .LAMBDA. region is presented. Many examples are calculated by this scheme and their results are compared to the previous solutions using P$^{2}$H$^{[-992]}$ . This scheme has the advantages of fast calculation time and stable convergence in high .LAMBDA. region, and gives very good results in the case of fluid film thickness discontinuity.

  • This paper presents a supercompact multi-wavelet scheme and its application to fluid simulation data. The supercompact wavelet method is an appropriate wavelet for fluid simulation data in the sense that it can provide compact support and avoid unnecessary interaction with remotely located data (e.g. across a shock discontinuity or vortices). thresholding for data compression is applied based on a covariance vector structure of multi-wavelets. The extension of this scheme to three dimensions is analyzed. The numerical tests demonstrate that it can allow various analytic advantages as well as large data compression ratios in actual practice.

Distribution and properties of intertidal Surface Sediments of Kyeonggi Bay, West Coast of Korea (경기만 조간대 표층퇴적물의 분포와 특성)

  • Kyeonggi Bay, a macrotidal coastal embayment in the Yellow Sea coast of central korea, is fringed by vastly developed tidal flats. About 400 surface sediment samples were collected from the intertidal and subtidal zones of Kyeonggi Bay for a study of the sediment distribution pattern and the surface sediment characteristics of this environment. The kyeonggi Bay surface sediment becomes progressively finer in the shoreward direction, from offshore sand to shoreward silty sand and sandy silt. This shoreward-fining trend is repeated again on the tidal flat and, as a consequence, a grain-size break occurs near the low-water line which separates the intertidal area from the subtidal one. The intertidal and subtidal sediments differ from each other in textural characteristics such as mean grain size and skewness and this can be interpreted to result from differences in hydraulic energy and morphology between the two environments. The mineral and chemical compositions of the Kyeonggi Bay sediments are largely controlled by the sediment grain size. Smectite was nearly absent in the clay mineral assemblage of Kyeonggi Bay sediment. The contents of Co, Cu and Ni were high in the Banweol tidal flat, which suggests a continuous process of accumulation of these metals. the intertidal environment appears to respond rapidly to artificial coastal modifications, the effects of which should be taken into consideration when planning a dam construction or coastal reclamation.

  • Clay mineralogical properties, soil formation and classification for the limestone derived soil were discussed from the 4 soil series, Pyeongchang, Anmi, Yulgog, and Mungyeong, distributed over the area of Bangjeol-Ri, Yeongweol-Eup, Gangweon-Do. The results are as follows; 1. Kaolinite and Al-interlayered vermiculite were the main clay minerals and other minerals were illite, vermiculite, and chlorite. 2. CEC of topsoil ranged from 10.5 to 22.9me/100g and that of sub-soil ranged from 10.0 to 23.8me/100g. CEC seemed to be increased with descending from topograpical position and had slightly significant positive correlation. 3. Lithologic changes as a runction of soil depth showed smooth change for Pyeongchang, discontinuity for Anmi, unpredictability for Yulgog, and uniformity for Mungyeong series. 4. According to the new system of soil taxanomy Pyeongchang series was classified as Typic Hapludalfs, Anmi as Fluventic Eutrochrepts, Yulgog as Fluvaquentic Eutrochrepts, and Mungyeong as Aeric Haplaquepts.

  • A robust optimization is only one of the ways to minimize the effects of variances in design variables on the objective functions at the preliminary design stage. To predict the variances and to formulate the probabilistic constraints are the most important procedures for the robust optimization formulation. Though several methods such as the process capability index and the six sigma technique were proposed for the prediction and formulation of the variances and probabilistic constraints, respectively, there are few attempts using a percent defective which has been widely applied in the quality control of the manufacturing process for probabilistic constraints. In this study, the robust optimization for a lower control arm of automobile vehicle was carried out, in which the design space showing the mean and variance sensitivity of weight and stress was explored before robust optimization for a lower control arm. The 2nd order Taylor expansion for calculating the standard deviation was used to improve the numerical accuracy for predicting the variances. Simplex algorithm which does not use the gradient information in optimization was used to convert constrained optimization into unconstrained one in robust optimization.

Vegetation at Sea Cliffs of Uninhabited Islets off Ganghwa-gun, Korea (강화군 무인도서 해식애의 식생)

  • This study conducted an analysis of plant species composition and vegetation at sea cliffs of the uninhabited islets off Ganghwa-gun by applying discontinuous classification method & continuous ordination method of species composition table by correlation. The analysis results are as follows: First, the plant showing the highest appearance frequency was Parthenocissus tricuspidata Planch.(58.3%), followed by Carpinus coreana Nak., Viburnum carlesii Hemsl. and Kalopanax septemlobus Koidz.(37.5%,respectively). As for a plant community, it was found that it consisted of Quercus mongolica community, Tilia mandshurica community, Carpinus coreana community, Sorbus alnifolia community and Pinus thunbergii community; as for the community distribution classified by individual islet, it was revealed that Quercus mongolica community appeared at Sosongdo and Bunjido; Tilia mandshurica community at Sosongdo and Daesongdo; Carpinus coreana community appeared at Woodo, Suribong and Bido; Sorbus alnifolia community at Susido, Sosongdo and Daesongdo, and Pinus thunbergii community at Seokdo and Woodo, respectively. The plant similarity classified by uninhabited islet was found to be the highest at Sosongdo and Daesongdo. This research judged the reason why the typical grassland community of coastal cliffs did not join these islets to be environmental conditions of rock landform where there exists almost no surface soil at most sea cliffs; thus, more detailed study on this was required.

Banding Artifacts Reduction Method in Multitoning Based on Threshold Modulation of MJBNM (MJBNM의 임계값 변조를 이용한 멀티토닝에서의 띠 결점 감소 방법)

  • This paper proposes a multitoning method using threshold modulation of MJBNM(Modified Jointly Blue Noise Mask) for banding artifacts reduction. As banding artifacts in multitoning appear as uniform dot distributions around the intermediate output levels, such multitone output results in discontinuity and visually unpleasing patterns in smooth transition regions. Therefore, to reduce these banding artifacts, the proposed method rearranges the dot distribution by introducing pixels in the neighborhood of output levels that occurs banding artifacts. First of all principal cause of banding artifacts are analyzed using mathematical description. Based on this analytical result, a threshold modulation technique of MJBNM which takes account of chrominance error and correlation between channels is applied. The original threshold range of MJBNM is first scaled linearly sot that the minimum and maximum of the scaled range include two pixel more than adjacent two output levels that cover an input value. In an input value is inside the vicinity of any intermediate output levels produce banding artifacts, the output is set to one of neighboring output levels based on the pointwise comparison result according to threshold modulation parameter that determines the dot density and distribution. In this case, adjacent pixels are introduced at the position where the scaled threshold values are located between two output levels and the minimum and maximum threshold values. Otherwise, a conventional multitoning method is applied. As a result, the proposed method effectively decreased the appearance of banding artifacts around the intermediate output levels. To evaluate the quality of the multitone result, HVS-WRMSE according to gray level for gray ramp image and S-CIELAB color difference for color ramp image are compared with other methods.
