The purpose of this study was to obtain basic data for improvement about oral health education, contents and method for college and university students. A question was used 10 questionnaire by 332 college and university students in the Tae gu-city and Gu mi-city. In conclusion, 1. They answered that dental caries cause is 'No-brushing'(88.3%). The man respondents answered that the cause of periodontal disease is 'weak disease'(39.2%). 2. The reason about visit to dental clinic is 'for treatment'(72.0%) and they answered that the tooth is 'very important in their life'(82.5%). 3. They answered that the frequency of tooth-brushing is 'two times in a day'(44.8%) and using auxiliary oral hygiene material is 'dental floss' by male(15.2%) and female(16.6%). 4. In the case of high oral health knowledge level showed high response rate about level of oral health attitude and oral health recognition.
A survey was conducted from September 9 to November 2, 2013, on 277 teachers in 10 different elementary schools to find out about their awareness of school dental clinics and preventive oral health programs. The schools were selected by convenience sampling from the city of Gunsan, North Jeolla Province. Out of the teachers, 133 teachers worked in five elementary schools equipped with school dental clinics, and 144 teachers worked in the other five elementary schools that weren't equipped with school dental clinics. As for data analysis, an IBM SPSS 21.0 was utilized as well. As a result of analyzing their opinions on the top priority of oral health programs, the teachers from the schools equipped with school dental clinics placed the most importance on application of fluorides and oral health education (71.1%), and the teachers from the schools without school dental clinics gave top priority to oral health education (76.5%). The 87.0% of the former replied that there was improvement in the oral health status of the students. The 74.4% of the latter answered they had never heard about school oral health programs, but 85.8% expected the introduction of school oral health programs to be of use for the improvement of the oral health state of the students. The 57.7% of the teachers from the schools with school dental clinics didn't think there were sufficient human resources who could be responsible for preventive oral health programs. As the successful performance of oral health programs by school dental clinics exerts a huge influence on not only the oral health promotion of school organizational members but that of community members, schools that aren't yet equipped with dental clinics should be informed about the necessity of school dental clinics, and the government should put more efforts into publicity activities about school dental clinics.
Objectives: Present study was undertaken to investigate the crystal growth onto synthetic hydroxyapatite (HA) seeds in pH 4.3 and pH 7.0 supersaturated solutions with different fluoride concentrations. Materials and Methods: 8 groups of pH 4.3 and 7.0 calcium phosphate supersaturated solutions were prepared with different fluoride concentrations (0, 1, 2 and 4 ppm). Calcium phosphate precipitates yield crystal growth onto the HA seed surface while solutions flow. For evaluation of crystallizing process, the changes of $Ca^{2+}$, $PO{_4}^{3-}$, $F^-$ concentrations of the inlet and outlet solutions were determined. The recovered solid samples were weighed to assess the amount of minerals precipitated, and finally determined their composition to deduce characteristics of crystals. Results: During the seeded crystal growth, there were significantly more consumption of $Ca^{2+}$, $PO{_4}^{3-}$, $F^-$ in pH 4.3 solutions than pH 7.0 (p < 0.05). As fluoride concentration increased in pH 4.3 solution, $Ca^{2+}$, $PO{_4}^{3-}$, $F^-$ consumption in experimental solutions, weight increment of HA seed, and fluoride ratio in crystallized samples were increased. There were significant differences among the groups (p < 0.05). But in pH 7.0 solution, these phenomena were not significant. In pH 7.0 solutions, analyses of crystallized samples showed higher Ca/P ratio in higher fluoride concentration. There were significant differences among the groups (p < 0.05). But in pH 4.3 solution, there were not significant differences in Ca/P ratio. Conclusions: Crystal growth in pH 4.3 solutions was superior to that in pH 7.0 solutions. In pH 4.3 solutions, crystal growth increased with showed in higher fluoride concentration up to 4 ppm.
Adjusted water fluoridation has been disputed because of its various effects on human health. Previous studies have been concerned with the difference in bone mineral density (BMD) between water fluoridated (WF) and none water fluoridated (NWF) districts. The aim of this study is to examine whether water fluoridation affects BMD. BMD was measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). 386 adults(174 males and 212 females) in Ansan (WF) district and 399 adults (176 males and 223 females) in Sihwa (NWF) district, participated in this study. The Ansan and Sihwa districts are similar in residential environment and living class. The relationship between serum fluoride concentration and BMD was also examined by analysis of the serum fluoride concentrations from 402 inhabitants of the Ansan district. In females, the BMD of subjects living in Ansan ($0.457{\pm}0.008$) was a little higher than that of Sihwa subjects ($0.446{\pm}0.008$), although it is not significant, after adjusting for BMI, physical activity level, educational achievement, smoking volume, menopause status, and number of births. However, the BMD of Ansan subjects ($0.532{\pm}0.020$) in their forties was statistically higher than that of Sihwa (0.498{\pm}0.019). No relationship was found in males. In residential periods, there was significant difference (Ansan $0.467{\pm}0.013$, Sihwa $0.434{\pm}0.012$, p=0.0125) in the BMD between females of two districts, particularly in the group of over 6 year long-term inhabitants. On the contrary, there was no remarkable difference in males from the two districts. Serum fluoride concentrations in females were associated with BMD, especially in the age group of forties (p=0.0457). No relationship was observed in the male group. Analysis of adult BMD over the age of 20 in a water fluoridated and a none water fluoridated district, confirms more or less a higher BMD in the water fluoridated (WF) district, especially for females. It is assumed that the difference between two districts came somewhat from the effect of water fluoridation.
In biological systems, the mineral that forms hard tissue is of an apatitic nature, and hydroxyapatite($Ca_5OH(PO_4)_3$: HA) is generally considered as the prototype for such a mineral. Thus, the precipitation of HA, having biological implications, has been the subject of several investigations. Crystal growth studies using HA seeds in supersaturated solutions have enhanced our understanding of the process and mechanism involved in seeded crystal growth. From these studies, it has become apparent that the precipitation rate of HA onto the seed crystals depends on the various conditions, especially on the additives. The relation between the supersaturated solution containing fluoride and the process of HA crystal growth enhances the understanding of mechanism of HA crystal growth. Until recently, the studies have been on the crystal growth of enamel minerals and synthetic HA seeds in the supersaturated solution containing 1~2 ppm fluoride. The purpose of the present investigation is to study the effect that fluoride of high concentration has on the crystal growth kinetics of HA. In order to produce the composition found in the secretory enamel fluid, experimental solutions of 1mM Ca, 3mM P, and 100mM Tris as background electrolyte were used. Then this experimental solutions were added to 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 ppm fluoride. The effect of fluoride at high concentrations on the precipitation was examined in a bench-top crystal growth model adopting a miniaturized reaction column. Chemical analysis was employed for characterization of working solutions before and after the experimentation. Remarkable findings were : 1) the amount of crystal growth was gradually accelerated as the fluoride concentration increased until 6 ppm, but decreased in 8 and 10 ppm fluoride; 2) the amount of fluoride ion consumed in crystal formation was constant despite the increase in fluoride concentration.

This study aims at finding which change there is of oral health promotion as investigating the oral health status in quality, diagnosing which effects knowledge and attitude of oral health has before and after the oral health education as developing and conducting the oral health education program for international marriage migrant women to form their oral health belief for improving oral health. This study consisted of each 51 of the experimental group and the controlled group at the multi-cultural family support center from $26^{th}$ of March, 2012 to $30^{th}$ of June, 2012 as the subjects, and pre-to-post investigated knowledge of oral and cognition. Also as it took follow-up examination of the clients who visited to the dentist with changing of their cognition, conducted matched-pair sample t-test and analysis of repeated measure variance. As the result, there were always the changes at the field of knowledge about oral, periodontal disease and toothbrush in awareness of oral health, and at the field of periodontal disease, dental caries, toothbrush, fluorine and bad breath in knowledge of oral health. The change of DMFT index, DT index has been reduced and FT index has been increased. As the result above, the oral health education program for international marriage migrant women has led to change awareness of oral health and knowledge, and the change of knowledge has influenced to a behavior, so there were the changes of periodontal status and DMFT index as well. This has been showing the importance of the program for oral health of international marriage migrant women. Moreover, while the oral health education program is developed in various aspects by offering the information for developing the oral health education program in future, it needs to run parallel prevention with treatment.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of acid treatment of fluoride applied dentin surface with various concentrations of phosphoric acid for various periods of time on dentin bonding. Dentin specimens prepared from freshly extracted bovine mandibular anterior teeth were divided into fluoridated and nonfluoridated groups. Specimens of nonfluoridated group were pretreated with 10% phosphoric acid for 15 seconds. Those of fluoridated groups were treated with 2% sodium fluoride or 2% stannous fluoride solution for 5 minutes and stored in $37^{\circ}C$ distilled water for 3 days, followed by phosphoric acid treatment. The concentrations of phosphoric acid were 10%, 32% or 50% and the treatment periods of time were 15, 30 or 60 seconds. All the specimens were bonded with All Bond$^{(R)}$ 2 and Bisfil$^{TM}$ composite resin. After bonded specimens were stored in $37^{\circ}C$ distilled water for 24 hours, tensile bond strengths of each specimens were measured and the pretreated dentin and the fractured dentin surfaces were examined under the scanning electron microscope. The results were as follows : The tensile bond strengths from the fluoridated groups were significantly lower than those from the nonfluoridated group when the concentrations of phosphoric acid and the treatment periods of time were equal in all the groups (p<0.05). In general, the higher the concentration of phosphoric acid and the longer the treatment period of time for acid etching on the fluoride applied dentin surface, the higher were the bond strength values. Recovery of bond strength of the dentin bonding agent was better in the NaF applied group than in the $SnF_2$ applied one. SEM findings of NaF applied and $SnF_2$ applied dentin surfaces demonstrated reaction product-covered and partially or completely obstructed dentinal tubules. SEM findings of dentin surfaces fluoridated for 5 minutes followed by etching showed wider tubular openings and more clean dentin surfaces when dentin was etched with higher concentration of phosphoric acid for longer period of time. On the SEM observations of the fractured dentin-resin interface, the etched specimens of fluoridated group showed an adhesive failure mode when the concentration of phosphoric acid and the treatment period of time were same as in the nonfluoridated group. As the concentration of phosphoric acid and the treatment period of time increase during acid etching, the cohesive failure area increased. However, excessive acid etching caused adhesive failure.
In order to find out the cause of plant injury, the symptom of plant injury, and contents of element concerned in the plant were analysed. Also, a case study was conducted to find out the factor of plant injury at a agriculture and industry complex in Gyeongsang province in 2004. The distribution of isomeric curve was made with meteorological data, toxic gas concentration exhausted from pollution source. The general symptom of plant injury by ammonia gas was dry and dead of leaves with white color. At low concentration of ammonia gas, plant leaf showed spots of reddish brown. The characteristic of plant injury symptom by hydrogen fluoride gas was that the symptom was appeared at the edge of leaf. The isomeric curve of sulfur dioxide at the region, where the plant was damaged, showed that the area was affected by exhausted gas from the pollution source. Especially, this area was affected more deeply at summer than any other season.

$CaF_2$ crystals were grown with various growth rates by Bridgman method, and the electrical properties of these were studied to examine the changes of ionic conductivities with growth rates by AC Impedance Analyzer. As the growth rates were higher, $CaF_2$ crystals were grown to polycrystals from single crystal. And as grain boundaries and various defects were altered, the ionic conductivities were changed dramatically. $YF_3$ added to $CaF_2$ for disorderizing $CaF_2$ structure and improving the number of $F^-$ carriers and vacancies in $CaF_2$ crystals. Then $Ca_{1-x}Y_XF_{2+X}$ crystals were gained. And the ionic conductivities of $Ca_{1-x}Y_XF_{2+X}$ crystals were investigated with $YF_3$ addition. The ionic conductivities of $CaF_2$ and $Ca_{1-x}Y_XF_{2+X}$ crystals with temperatures were compared. In addition, the effects of clusterings and defects on the electrical properties of solid electrolytes were researched.
The purpose of this study was to examine the cognition-perception factors and oral health promotion behavior of dental hygiene and non-dental hygiene students in an effort to find out factors affecting their oral health promotion behavior. After a survey was conducted, the collected data were analyzed. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. In regard to cognition-perception factors of oral health, the dental hygiene students were ahead of the others in self-efficacy, control of oral health and benefits of oral health behavior. The latter felt there were more barriers to their oral health behavior than the former. 2. As to the practice of oral health promotion behavior, that behavior was more prevailing among the dental hygiene students than the others. Both groups restrained themselves from liquor and cigarettes. 3. Concerning the correlation between oral health promotion behavior and related variables, self-efficacy and control of oral health had a significant correlation to oral health promotion behavior. Better self-efficacy and better control of oral health led to better oral health promotion behavior and better practice of its subfactors 1, 2 and 3. 4. As a result of checking the variables affecting oral health promotion behavior and the subfactors of the variables, self-efficacy had the largest impact on factor 1, factor 2, factor 3 and oral health promotion behavior, and factor 2 was under the greatest influence of control of oral health. Based on above-mentioned findings, self-efficacy was identified as the cognition-perception factor that had the largest impact on oral health behavior. Therefore how to boost self-efficacy should be considered when oral health promotion programs are developed, and research efforts should be channeled into finding out in which way self-efficacy could be bolstered in association with each kind of oral health promotion behavior.
