In order to obtain some informations on the improvement of fertility of poor red yellow soils widely distributed in hilly lands of Korean peninsula, a pot culture study was made with a hill land soil in comparison with a fertile soil commonly used for vegetables. The results are as follows; 1. In addition to the normal application of phosphate, the mixing of a large dose of fused phosphate with whole soil increased the yeild of chinese cabbage remarkably, having the promotion particulary of the available phosphate level in the acidic low fertility soil. At the sometime the mixing seemed to short down the period of soil maturing to fertile for good crop. It is, however, considered that such effect of fused phosphate must also be evaluated economically through a long term experiment. 2. A relatively close relationship between the soil phosphate soluble in dilute acid and chinese cabbage growth was observed.

The Internet today provides group communication model, multicast service. It is important to keep security for multicast communication. Member leaving is associated with scalability problem for group key management. If one member of the group is removed, new group key has to be changed and communicated to all remaining members of group. Modification and distribution of new group keys for rekeying is an expensive operation. Minimizing the number of messages and operation cost for generation of the composite keys are important evaluating criteria of multicast key management scheme. Periodic rekey helps reducing these important parameters rather than removing members sequentially in fashion one after another. In this paper, Hamming distance is calculated between every members to be removed. The members with Hamming distance less than threshold are selected for rekeying procedure. With running the round assignment algorithm, our model has advantages of reducing the number of message and operation cost for generation of the composite keys for rekeying.

Today, home health care services needs a linkage plan of the customized home visiting health service in public health center, the medical institute home health care service, and home visiting nursing service based on long term care insurance for the elderly program which acknowledges the independence and professionalism of the home health care services while minimizing overlap through linking the projects. So, this study was performed by applying the Delphi technique, which draws agreement from professional opinion, to determine a method to link home health care services in Korea. The results of this study are as follows. Specialists agreed on 24 important items within the two domains of institutional linkage and medical linkage. And the significance of this study is as follows. The 24 items deduced for the approved nursing service linkage plan are expected to improve the home health care service business system, enhance the quality of home health care service, and bring increased satisfaction for service recipients. Also, seeking ways to minimize overlap in service can increase the effectiveness of health care and public health management at a national level. In addition, it is considered that this will ultimately reduce public medical costs as well as improve home health care service.

This experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of temperature, light quality and gibberellic acid on the seed germination of Rhododendron weyrichii Max. Optimum temperature for germination was $20^{\circ}C$ at constant temperature, but the final germination rate at $15^{\circ}C$ was about the same with the rates were attained by alternating temperature under higher temperature such as $25^{\circ}C$ or $30^{\circ}C$. The germination rate was increased by yellow and red light treatments at $20^{\circ}C$, but green light treatment strongly inhibited seed germination at $25^{\circ}C$. Gibberellic acid substitutes light requirement for germination of R. weyrichii seeds.

In database systems, join operations are the most complex and time consuming ones which limit performance of such system. Many parallel join algorithms have been proposed for the systems. However, they did not consider data skew, such as attribute value skew (AVS) and join product skew (JPS). In the skewness environments, performance of framework for a uniform load distribution and an efficient parallel join algorithm using the framework to handle AVS and JPS. In our algorithm, we estimate data distributions of input and output relations of join operations using the sampling methodology and evaluate join cost for the estimated data distributions. Finally, using the histogram equalization method we distribute data among nodes to achieve good load balancing among nodes in the local joining phase. For performance comparison, we present simulation model of our algorithm and other join algorithms and present the result of some simulation experiments. The results indicate that our algorithm outperforms other algorithms in the skewed case.

Korea's seas have the potentials of dispute against China or Japan due to the overlap of the territorial waters and EEZ. In case of marine accidents, the nature of the sea tends to eliminate much of the track, making it another hardship in evidence adoption in case of an international dispute along with the false entries of fishing vessels' journals. Marine Digital Forensics Protects the functions of computers and IT appliance on vessels and extracts evidence of voyage and accidents to resolve international dispute. The digital evidence, if tampered with its integrity, my lead to the rejection to a critical claim or may even fail to make a case. As a solution, this thesis suggests Marine Digital Forensics as a way to extract evidence and prove a claim. This may be utilized as means of scientific investigation on sea as overseas exchange increases and the vessels digitalize, leading to a solution in international disputes that may occur in the future.

Sphagnum palustre (SP), a species of moss belong to the Sphagnaceae family, is used as a dwarfed potted plant, in diapers, bandages, and soil additives. Although, SP can be found all over the world and is very cheap, the study of SP components and bioactivities are still at a rudimentary stage. In this study, the hot-water extract of SP (HWSP) and its subsequent organic solvent fractions were prepared, and their in-vitro anti-thrombosis activities were evaluated. The results showed that the water residue of HWSP has a strong anti-coagulation activity with significant extensions of thrombin time, and platelet aggregation activity. Our results suggest that the SP has the potential to be a novel resource for anti-thrombosis agents. This report provides the first evidence of the anti-thrombosis activity of SP.

Surveys of stock volume on steep and vast expanse of mountains, involves various difficulties. And it is extremely uneconomical in forest management point of view, to spend lots of time and man power for surveying such tree volume as the value is much cheaper in comparison with volume and weight. Therefore, a stand volume table estimate easely stock volume per hectare basis from aerial photographs was prepared and correlations to stand volume among factors affecting tree volumation, were studied. Data were 114 places selected from planted Korean white pine, Pinus koreiensis Sieb. et Zucc. stands in Kwangnung Experiment Forest and were computed and analysed by the means of the quantification in the multi-variate statistical analysis. Electronic Data Processing System was applied for data processing at Korean Instiute of Science and Technology. Coefficients of multiple correlations of stand volume table was ranged 0.85~0.88.

The monolayer characteristics of phosphate amphiphiles with azobenzene at air/water interface were studied by the measurment of $\pi-A$ curves and absorption spectra. Immediately after being spread on the water surface, these amphiphiles having strong intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions showed the typical absorption spectra which resulted from domain formation. But the aggregated domains could be controlled by changing the subphase conditions (adding bulky salt and rasing pH). Addition of metal ions in subphase changes the molecular orientation of monolayer. As the metal ion charge increases ($1\leq2$ < 3 < 4 valence), the absorption maximum (310nm) of the amphiphile with azobenzene shifts to a longer wavelength (350nm) which means that the orientation of the amphiphile is tilted. These results suggest that the molecular orientation, and furthermore the aggregation state of monolayer can be possibly controlled by the interaction of metal ions with different charge types.
