디젤연소실에서 새로운 충돌분무 형성에 대한 수치적 고찰 (Numerical Analysis of the Formation of New Impinging Spray in the Combustion System)

  • The objective of this study is to establish geometric guidelines for design of impaction parts prepared for removing undesirable effects of fuel deposition on a wall in small direct-injection diesel engines. In order to get the guidelines a new wall geometry is introduced and assessed, which has a flat top and a slant edge. The size of the flat top and the angle of the slant edge are varied and tested in same chamber condition, then their effects on spray dispersions and drop sizes are discussed. The results show that the case of 3.0mm flat top and $60^{\circ}$ edge angle gives the best spray characteristics for a small combustion chamber in the test conditions chosen in this paper.

기울어진 미세 텍스쳐 표면에 충돌하는 단일 액적의 퍼짐 특성 (Spreading Characteristics of a Liquid Droplet Impacting Upon the Inclined Micro-textured Surfaces)

  • The present study investigated experimentally the spreading characteristics of a single liquid impinging on the inclined micro-textured aluminum (Al 6061) surfaces manufactured by using a micro computerized numerical control (${\mu}$-CNC) milling machine. The textured surfaces were composed of patterned micro-holes (diameter of $125\;{\mu}m$ and depth of $125\;{\mu}m$). In our experiment, the de-ionized (DI) water droplet of $4.3\;{\mu}l$ was impinged normally on the non-textured and textured surfaces at two different Weber numbers, and the droplet impinged on the inclined surfaces with different angles. A high speed camera was used to capture sequential digital images for measurement of the maximum spreading distance. It was found that for the textured surface, the measured apparent equilibrium contact angle (ECA) increased up to $105.8^{\circ}$, higher than the measured ECA of $87.6^{\circ}$ for the non-textured (bare) surface. In addition, it is conjectured that the spreading distance decreased because of a liquid penetration during droplet spreading through the holes, the increase in hydrophobicity, and viscous dissipation during impact process.

  • The present study conducts experimental investigation on spreading and deposition characteristics of a $4.3{\mu}l$ de-ionized (DI) water droplet impacting upon aluminum (Al 6061) flat and textured surfaces. The micro-textured surface consisted the micro-hole arrays (hole diameter: $125{\mu}m$, hole depth: $125{\mu}m$) fabricated by the conventional micro-computer numerical control (${\mu}$-CNC) milling machine process. We examined the surface effect of texture area fraction ${\varphi}_s$ ranging from 0 to 0.57 and impact velocity of droplet ranging from 0.40 m/s to 1.45 m/s on spreading and deposition characteristics from captured images. We used a high-speed camera to capture sequential images for investigate spreading characteristics and the image sensor to capture image of final equilibrium deposition droplet for analyze spreading diameter and contact angle. We found that the deposition droplet on textured surfaces have different wetting states. When the impact velocity is low, the non-wetting state partially exists, whereas over 0.64 m/s of impact velocity, totally wetting state is more prominent due to the increase kinetic energy of impinging droplet.

화염용사 거리에 따른 입자의 거동 및 $Ni_{20}Cr$ 코팅층 특성 연구 (Effect of Flame Spray Distance on Particle Behavior and Morphological Characteristics of $Ni_{20}Cr$ Coated Layers)

  • The present study aims to examine the influence of flame spray distance on the thermal behavior of micro-metal particles and the morphological characteristics of $Ni_{20}Cr$ layers coated on the preheated SCM415 substrates by using the conventional flame spray system. Commercially available nickel-based $Ni_{20}Cr$ particles with a mean diameter of $45{\mu}m$ were used. In addition, CFD simulations using a commercial code (FLUENT ver. 6.3.26) were conducted to estimate temperature and velocity distributions of the continuous and discrete phases before impact on the substrate. From FE-SEM images of coated layers on the substrates, it was observed that as the spray distance decreased, the metal particle morphology showed splash-like patterns and such a short stretch shape, resulting from higher particle momentums and the impact of partially melted particles. Moreover, it was found that the spray distance should be considered as one of important parameters in controlling the porosity and the adhesion strength.

고체 표면에 충돌하는 뉴턴 액적에 대한 최대 액막 직경 모델 검토 (Assessment of Maximum Spreading Models for a Newtonian Droplet Impacting on a Solid Surface)

  • 최대 액막 직경은 액적이 표면에 충돌한 이후에 최대로 퍼질 수 있는 정도를 의미하며, 분무기술과 관련된 다양한 응용분야에서 분무성능을 결정하는 중요한 인자 중의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 고체표면에 충돌하는 뉴턴 액적에 대한 기존의 최대 액막 직경 모델들을 $4{\leq}Re{\leq}11700$, $23{\leq}We{\leq}786$, $37.9^{\circ}{\leq}{\theta}_s{\leq}107.1^{\circ}$ 범위에 해당하는 본 연구의 실험결과와 비교하여 검토하였다. 실험결과, 유체의 점도 및 충돌속도에 비하여 표면 젖음성이 최대 액막 직경에 미치는 영향은 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 기존의 모델 중에서 Roisman (2009) 모델은 최대 액막 직경에 대한 실험데이터의 80%를 ${\pm}5%$ 이내로 예측함으로써 가장 우수한 예측성능을 보였다.

플라즈마 유기막과 OSP PCB 표면처리의 Sn-Ag-Cu 솔더 접합 특성 비교 (Sn-Ag-Cu Solder Joint Properties on Plasma Coated Organic Surface Finishes and OSP)

  • 본 연구에서는 친환경적이고, 보관수명이 1년 이상이며, 부식특성이 좋은 플라즈마 유기막 표면처리에 대한 솔더링 특성을 기존 표면처리법인 OSP와 비교하였다. 플라즈마 표면처리는 할로겐계 전구체를 사용하여 CVD 방법으로 증착하였고, 증착두께는 20 nm이었다. 본 연구에서 사용된 솔더 조성은 Sn-3.0 wt%Ag-0.5 wt%Cu이었다. 염수분무시험에서 플라즈마 표면처리 유기막은 OSP보다 우수한 부식 저항성을 나타내었다. 멀티리플로우 조건에서 플라즈마 표면처리는 OSP보다 우수한 솔더 퍼짐성을 나타내었다. 솔더링 후 단면 미세조직을 분석한 결과, 플라즈마 표면처리와 OSP시편 모두 유사한 금속간화합물층 두께 및 형상을 갖고 있었다. 플라즈마 표면처리와 OSP 모두 유사한 접합강도를 가지고 있었다.
