Development of Sensor Fusion-Based Low-Speed Short-Distance Collision Warning Algorithm for Urban Area (도시 환경을 위한 센서 융합 기반 저속 근거리 충돌 경보 알고리즘 개발)

  • Although vehicles become more intelligent for convenience and safety of drivers, traffic accidents are increased more and more. Especially, car-to-car single rear impacts in the urban area are increased rapidly because of driver inattention. To prevent rear impacts in the urban area, commercial automobile vendor applies the low-speed short-distance collision warning system. This paper presents low-speed short-distance collision warning algorithm for the city driving by using sensor fusion of laser sensor and ultrasonic sensor. An experiment using embedded microprocessor in the driving track was used to demonstrate the feasibility of the collision warning algorithm.

  • 본 논문에서는 감시시스템이 갖추어진 환경 내에서 발생할 수 있는 특이 행동을 효율적으로 감지하기 위한 기법을 제시한다. 최근 대형 범죄 및 방화 사건 등의 방지목적으로 DVR 의 단순 녹화를 벗어나 지능형 감시시스템을 도입하려는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 시스템들은 아직 초기 연구 단계에 있으며 영상내의 관심물체 추출을 위한 전경과 배경의 분리 및 추적 단계에 그치고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 가우시안 혼합 모델을 통하여 전경과 배경을 분리하고, 관심영역에 한해서 Optical Flow 기법을 이용하여 폭력상황과 같은 특이 행동의 감지 여부를 판단 할 수 있는 방법에 대해 실험을 통해 평가하였다.

Characterization of CO2 Adsorption Process for a Water Removal from Coal (석탄 내 수분 제거를 위한 CO2 흡착 효과에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, the extent of water removal in the high-moisture coal was measured. The simplified adsorption model was developed to predict the extent of water removal. The water removal was observed to increase up to 25% at saturation condition of 25℃. The modeling work shows that adsorption contributes the water removal only by 3%, whereas other factors such as CO2 solubility and wettability would be responsible for the water removal.

  • 제1회 대한민국 지역혁신박람회가 11월 11일부터 14일까지 부산 벡스코(BEXCO)에서 열렸다. 개막식에는 노무현 대통령과 시도지사, 시도의회 의장, 기초자치단체장, 지역혁신위원 등 1500여 명이 참석했으며, 4일간의 박람회 기간 동안 지역혁신 전문가 4000여 명과 10만여 명의 관람객이 행사장 을 찾았다. 국가균형발전위원회와 산업자원부, 행정자치부, 부산시가 공동주최한 이번 박람회에서는 대규모 전시행사 뿐 아니라 159개의 성공사례 발표, 국내외 컨퍼런스, 52개 기초지자체가 참여하는 특산물 한마당, 전국 각지의 25개 문화행사 등 다채로운 행사가 열렸다. 개막식에 참석한 노무현 대통령은 축사를 통해“지난 8월 확정한 국가균형발전 5개년계획에 따라 혁신기반 구축사업 등에 앞으로 5년간 총 45조원의 예산을 투입하게 될 것”이라고 밝혔다. 노대통령은 개막식 행사 뒤 허남식 부산시장, 협회 김태희 부회장 등 행사관계자와 함께 전시장 개막 터치버튼을 누르고 부산시 홍보관을 시작으로 전시장을 둘러보았다.

  • 프로파일링 도구는 프로그램 최적화뿐만 아니라 스케줄링이나 호출 그래프 작성, 프로그램의 부하 분석 등과 같은 많은 분야에서 이용되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 한국에서 많이 사용되는 운영체제인 윈도우즈 상에서 동작하며 실행 코드만으로 분석이 가능한 프로파일링 도구에 대해 알아본다. 특히 윈도우즈 상에서 동작하는 유명한 프로파일링 도구인 Very Sleepy, 리소스 모니터, PIX, CodeAnalyst, PCM의 특징에 대해 알아본다. 그리고 프로파일링 도구의 특징을 이용해 특정 상황에 적합한 프로파일링 도구를 제안한다.

  • Biomass, a carbon-neutral fuel, has great advantages because it can replace fossil fuels to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, due to its low density, high water content, and hydrophilicity, biomass has disadvantages for transportation and storage. To improve these properties, a pretreatment process of biomass is required. One of the various pre-treatment technologies, torrefacion, makes biomass similar to coal through low-temperature pyrolysis. In this study, torrefacion treatment was carried out at 200, 230, 250, 280, and $300^{\circ}C$ for wood pellet, empty fruit bunch (EFB) and kenaf, and the feasibility of replacing coal with fuel was examined. Hygroscopicity tests were conducted to analyze the hydrophobicity of biomass, and its chemical structure changes were investigated using Infrared spectrum analysis. It was confirmed that the hygroscopicity was decreased gradually as the torrefacion temperature increased according to the hygroscopicity tests. The hydrophilicity was reduced according to the pyrolysis of hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin of biomass.

  • When inflammatory products are found in both periodontal and pulpal tissues simultaneously, a periodontal-endodontic combined lesion is established. The treatment of periodontal-endodontic combined lesions includes root canal therapy and periodontal regenerative procedure for resolution of both the apical and marginal inflammatory lesions. The present study reports the treatment of periodontal-endodontic combined lesions in the mandibular anterior area with root canal therapy, followed by guided tissue regeneration therapy. Teeth with severe bone destruction in each case could be preserved, without extraction, over a 3-year period. Therefore, it appears that treatment of periodontal-endodontic combined lesions in the mandibular anterior area using guided tissue regeneration technique after root canal therapy may provide clinical advantages.

Monitoring of Quality Characteristics and Harmful Substances in Commercial Handmade Soap (유통 수제비누의 품질특성 및 유해물질 모니터링)

  • A total of 81 handmade soaps on sale on the market were collected from January to November 2022. To compare quality characteristics, all ingredients were referred to, and the pH, dry reduction, heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, antimony, and mercury), and contents of free alkali were measured. All soaps had a slightly alkaline pH of 7.9 to 11.2, average drying loss was 17.6%, and free alkali was hardly detected. The average values of all heavy metals were 0.104 ㎍/g for lead, 0.035 ㎍/g for arsenic, 0.002 ㎍/g for cadmium, 0.048 ㎍/g for antimony, and 0.0003 ㎍/g for mercury. The results of handmade soap were below the recommended in regulations on safety standards for cosmetics of Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

Prediction of Water Quality Improvement by using Ecological Modelling in Busan Coastal Area (생태계 모델링을 이용한 부산연안해역 수질개선 예측)

  • Water quality improvement was predicted by using ecological modelling with reference to reduced load pollutants in the Busan coastal area. The results showed appreciable improvement in water quality at Suyeong Bay and Nakdong Estuary but little improvement in water quality from the central to eastern regions, except in Suyeong Bay by COD concentration. There were also similar results for T-N and T-P, because the Busan coastal area has a more open boundary than the other bays in the South Sea of Korea, resulting in a fast flow rate. The reducted COD load was less than that found in other coastal areas. Also, the reduction rate of the total load was less than that of other coastal areas in terms of water quality improvement. Applying the reduction load estimated in this study, it should be possible to improve the water quality of Suyeong Bay and Nakdong Estuary.
