This study was carried out to examine the effects of cutting condition on the rooting and their subsequent growth of cut flower in plug cutting of summer-flowering chrysanthemum 'Iwanohakusen'. The more leaves were attached to the cutting, the higher shoot growth and rooting were. Shoot growth of cuttings was not affected by cutting length, but rooting was better in over 5 cm long cutting. Shoot growth was enhanced by increasing thickness of cutting, and 5.5 mm thick cutting was favored in rooting. When the many leaves were attached on the cutting, the length and weight of cut flower increased. Over 7 cm long cutting showed higher values in growth of cut flower and ray flower number. Cutting of 5.5 mm diameter showed more favorable growth of cut flower than the other treatments. Therefore, it is concluded that rooting of cutting and consecutive growth of cut flower was improved when 7 cm long and 5.5 mm diameter cutting with 4 leaves was used in plug cutting of chrysanthemum 'Iwanohakusen'.
This study aims to evaluates the image quality of CR and DR that are scanned with the use of the attachable carbon heater X-ray scanner table equipped with heating device by measuring SNR and CNR before and after the attachment of the said table. In the aluminum staircase testing, CR increased SNR and CNR when attached with the table, while DR decreased SNR and CNR. In the human-body model phantom testing, CR increased SNR and CNR only in the low-energy low-dose radiation and the high-energy high-dose radiation, but decreased SNR and CNR under all other conditions. In conclusion, the use of such table can make the patient feel comfortable by removing his or her anxiety, thus helping the testing, but in the actual clinical application thereof, if the thickness and material of the bottom film and the protective film, including the carbon heater, are not considered, it affects the picture quality, thereby requiring continuous research on the use of such table.
In vitro attachment experiments of bacteria to surface of host plant cell were carried out using C14 labeled cells of A. rhizogenes strain A4 and carrot protoplasts isolated from suspension culture of cells. Protoplasts were cocultivated with A. rhizogenes at various times after their isolation. Attachment kinetics showed that adherence of bacteria to protoplasts attained a maximum level within 120mins of co-cultivation. Maximum attachment occured at pH 6.0 and 24-35$^{\circ}C$. Bacterial attachment was observed at botg carrot cells with and without primary cell wall. The inhibition of transformation on the carrot root discs by A. rhizogenes was observed when non-related strain and heat inactivated bacterial strain cells were pretreated.
Granular media filtration is used almost universally as the last particle removal process in conventional water treatment plants. Therefore, superb particle removal efficiency is needed during this process to ensure a high quality of drinking water. However, every particle can not be removed during granular media filtration. Besides the pattern of particle attachment is different depending on physicochemical aspects of particles and suspension. Filtration experiments were performed in a laboratory-scale filter using spherical glass beads with a diameter of 0.55 mm as collectors. A single type of particle suspension (Min-U-Sil 5) and alum coagulation was used to destabilize particles. The operating conditions were similar to those of standard media filtration practice: a filtration velocity of 5 m/h. More favorable particles, i.e., particles with smaller surface charge, were well attached to the collectors especially during the early stage of filtration when zeta potential of particles and collectors are both negative. This selective attachment of the lower charged particles caused the zeta potential distribution (ZPD) of the effluent to move to a more negative range. On the other hand, the ZPDs of the effluent moved from more positive to less positive when the surface charge of particles was positive and this result was thought to be caused by ion transfer between particles and collectors.

Thermal control of satellite propellant tank is achieved by patch heaters enabled by thermostat's behavior. It is important to attach the thermostat on the appropriate position of the propellant tank. However its position cannot be given with exact numerics because tank is spherical. In practice, the thermostat position is designated approximately in a relevant drawing approximately, thereby an engineer practices depending on his own experience and intuition. The sensitivity analysis for the position of thermostat is performed such that the influence on the thermal behavior and control of tank is examined quantatively. When assembling tank module, the reasonable performance on the thermal control is believed with possible human errors if the uncertainty in the position of thermostat is not quite large.

Dental injuries with crown fracture occur frequently, especially in young patient Reattachment of the crown fragment has been shown to yield good esthetic results in that original tooth anatomy is restored with a material that abrades at a rate indntical to that of the adjacent tooth substance and at the same time permits continual monitoring of pulpal status through the fragment. Case 1 was complicated crown fracture with pin-point bleed ing, that was treated by direct pulp capping with calcium hydroxide and fragment reattachment. Case 2 was in trusive luxation with complicated crown fracture and was treated by pulp treatment and fragment reattachment. Case 3 was uncomplicated crown fracture, and fracture line involved slightly biologic width and treated by reattachment of the crown fragment.

There have been efforts that inhibit development of dental caries by sugar substitution. But, it is controversial if xylitol has anticariogenic effect in the presence of sucrose. And there are few papers dealing with the combined action of xylitol and sucrose. For the purpose of resolving this controversy, the author investigated the effect of xylitol on enamel demineralization and on adhesiveness of S. mutans to hydroxyapatite in the presence of sucrose. Five experimental solutions were prepared as follows: (S: sucrose, X: xylitol) Group 1: BHI broth Group 2: BHI+1% S Group 3: BHI+0.75% S+0.25% X Group 4: BHI+0.5% S+0.5% X Group 5: BHI+0.25% S+0.75% X Group 6: BHI+1% X Each solution was inoculated with $100{\mu}l$ of S. mutans JC-2. And saliva coated hydroxyapatite beads were put into each experimental solution. And then each solution was incubated at $37^{\circ}C$ under anaerobic condition. After incubation, the adhesiveness of S. mutans on hydroxyapatite was evaluated. The Vickers hardness numbers were measured on extracted human primary teeth, and these teeth were dipped into the same experimental solution and incubated at $37^{\circ}C$ under anaerobic condition for 48hours. Surface microhardness were measured again after incubation. The obtained results were as follows; 1. In the presence of sucrose, xylitol can reduce the adhesiveness of S. mutans on hydroxyapatite surface from the ratio of 25% sucrose to 75% xylitol(P<0.05). 2. In the presence of sucrose, xylitol can reduced demineralization of primary teeth enamel surface from the ratio of 50% sucrose to 50% xylitol(P<0.01).

In this study, in order to develop ultra rapid hardening mortar(URHM) for tunnel repairs using bottom ash of low recycle ratio and Admixture as Eco concept, fundamental properties of URHM on temperature condition of construction field were performed. Test result, URHM of three types for fluidity and setting time were as in the following : B > C > A. Those for low temperatures were later than the standard condition. Compressive, bending and bond strength were similar with three types as follow. In compressive strength, initial strength of the low were smaller than the standard but the low in the long-term were similar with the standard. On the contrary to this, bending strength were similar in initial strength but the low in the long-term were smaller than the standard. The low in bond strength was average 35% less than the standard. Length changes was as in the following : A > C > B. the low is two times much as the standard but the case using blast furnace slag particles noticeably reduced length changes. Water absorption coefficient and water vapor resistance were as in the following : C > A > B. In case of URHM added bottom ash, water absorption coefficient and water vapor resistance were increased because bottom ash is porous material.

Mechanically fastening FRP (MF-FRP) strips using nails and anchors, has been shown to provide a more ductile behavior to the strengthened structural element than using bonded FRP. To further advance the state of the knowledge on this strengthening method, the current study examined environmental effects for six months on MF-FRP beams. Reinforced concrete beams strengthened with mechanically fastened FRP strips and subjected to sustained loads for six months were exposed to outdoor weather and constant high temperatures ($40^{\circ}C$). For comparison, the behavior of RC beam with and without sustained loads was evaluated. Results from flexural tests did not show any significant degradation or change of failure mode as a result of sustained load and of environmental effects such as high temperatures and outdoor weather over a period of six months. Failure of the beams was governed by FRP delamination followed by concrete crushing as not much load applied to the nail and anchors because of slip effects.

In this study, the improved performance of sprayed green soil was evaluated by incorporating functional additives. The optimal mixing ratio of the thickener and super-absorbent polymer, as an additive for moisture supply to the growth of plants within the range of mixing ratios that gives sufficient strength of green soil, was 5% and 1%, respectively. Using Portland cement as a main binder, the pH of the green soil was 9.1. To solve this alkali problem, the mixing proportion was improved so that the pH of the green soil was approximately 7.2 by mixing more than 10% of the chelate resin. The soil conductivity was measured to be 280 ~ 350mS/m under all the mixing conditions. This satisfied the criterion of less than 1000mS/m on the slope surface. As a result of measuring the soil hardness of the green soil prepared under the optimal mixing conditions of functional additives, it satisfied the criteria of 18 ~ 23mm when sprayed under a 1 bar pressure. The rebound rate was less than 15% when spraying green soil on a 75 % slope, and the hardness of the sprayed green soil was more than 18 mm.
