In this study, vibrational tendon tension measurement methods are applied to estimate tension of external tendons used in segmental post-tensioned bridges. The acceleration of various length type of tendons is measured and natural frequencies are obtained using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform). The obtained natural frequencies are within 1% error regardless of sensor direction and location. On the basis of natural frequency of tendon, estimation of the tendon tension is performed by using many types of solutions such as string theory equation, multi mode estimation, practical formula estimation and stiff string with clamped-clamped boundary conditions. The results are compared with each other and have shown that the flexural stiffness is not negligible in tendons of this type causing the vibration mode to be inharmonically related. The results have shown that the method using stiff string equation with clamped-clamped boundary conditions is more accurate than the other methods. Application example of in-service bridges has shown that force distribution effects from friction at deviation blocks can be effectively detected.
This study aims to suggest an appropriate flexural reinforcement technique by evaluating the reinforcement capacity of specimens that underwent flexural reinforcement according to the post-tension method with the anchoring position of an unbonded tension member on the conventional SC composite beam and the applied tension level as variables. For the experiment, up to a predetermined yield load was applied to each type of specimen and then, unbounded post-tensioning was additionally conducted to examine its reinforcement capacity. The analysis of the said experiment showed that the post-reinforced SC composite beam was characterized by significantly improved yield stress and initial stiffness, compared with the pre-reinforced one and the experimental measurements/theoretical values of maximum stress ranged from 0.95 to 1.13 following reinforcement. There was little or no change depending on the maximum stress and tension in the specimen (D160, Class 240) whose neutral axis and upper part had anchoring devices mounted prior to reinforcement. Rather, the ductility decreased with the increasing tension. On the contrary, in the case of the other specimen (Class D120) whose neutral axis had anchoring devices mounted after reinforcement, both the maximum stress and ductility increased with increasing tension, which indicates that the latter tension reinforcement was reasonably appropriate and effective for the neutral axis reinforcement.
The moment redistribution in continuous reinforced concrete beams is very feasible phenomenon, by which the efficiency and the economy in designing reinforced concrete members can be enhanced. However, to understand the structural behavior by moment redistribution phenomenon, it is desirable to verify its mechanism experimentally considering tension stiffening effect, the relationship of moment redistribution and beam deflection, crack pattern, and effective stiffness. Six reinforced concrete continuous beam specimens were fabricated, and each specimen had a dimension of 250 mm $\times$ 350 mm and 7,000 mm long. The location of de-bonding was taken as the primary test parameter to investigate tension stiffening effect. The moment redistribution ratio of the specimens was different depending on the position of de-bonding, and in particular no moment redistribution was observed when de-bonding exist at both ends, the maximum negative moment region and the maximum positive moment region.

Latex modification of concrete provides the material with higher flexural strength, as well as high bond strength and reduced water permeability. One of the most advantages of the very early-strength latex-modified concrete (VES-LMC) could be the similar contraction and expansion behaviour to normal concrete substrate, which enable to ensure long-term performance. The purpose of this study was to parametric nonlinear flexural nonlinear analysis of RC beam rehabilitated by VES-LMC. The results were as follows; The flexural nonlinear analysis model of RC beam overlaid by VES-LMC in ABAQUS was proposed to predict the load-deflection response, interfacial stress, and ultimate strength. The proposed FE analysis model was verified by comparison of an experimental data and the FE analysis results. The FE analysis results showed that yield point as well as flexural stiffness increased as the depth increased; the stiffness of beam overall increased as the bond stiffness became larger; the bond strength between two different materials is a key factor in composite beam. A parametric study showed that an overlay thickness was a main influencing factor to the behavior of RC beam overlaid by VES-LMC.

Recent studies to improve reinforcement of structures have developed stiff type Polyurea by using highly polymized compound Polyurea, but the reinforcing effect of it appears to be merely good. To find the proper usage of Polyurea as structural reinforcement, stiff type Polyurea has developed by manipulating the ratio of the components that consist flexural type Polyurea and the developed stiff type Polyurea shows higher hardness and tensile capacity. The reinforcement effect evaluation of has been performed by the polyurea applied RC slab specimens, and the reinforcement effect of the combination of fiber sheet and polyurea has been tested. The results shows that the Polyurea applied specimens have significant improvement on hardness and ductility compare to those of unreinforced. Also, the specimens that stiff type Polyurea is sprayed on fiber sheet reinforcement has higher reinforcing effect than only sheet reinforced specimens. However, the specimens that and fiber sheet attached after polyurea applied on showed that the high toughness of fiber sheet restrains the ductile behavior of Polyurea due to the high ductility, thereby the specimen suffers the concentration of load, which leads the brittle fracture behavior.

Steel fiber is high stiffness and large weight. So, Pumping hose to rupture of the safety management is difficult. Steel fiber caused by corrosion of the deterioration of durability and high-rebound losses are needed for the improvements. Thus, the revised regulations in 2009 by a steel fiber to reinforce other materials is possible. Variety of fiber reinforcement material for concrete review of applicability is needed. Steel fiber strength than the other fibers is large and by the geometry of the fibers are attached to improve performance. However, compared to steel fiber organic fibers and low modulus of elasticity and tensile strength of fiber and agglomeration occurs in the concrete to be used as reinforcement material is difficult. In this regard, the present study as a single object in the micro-fiber bouquet sharp entanglement through make muck attach surface area, distributed fibers from surfactant of the surface enhanced polyamide fibers, steel fiber and PP fiber reinforced concrete by comparing the scene to provide a basis for the use.

A reactor containment acts as a final barrier to prevent leakage of radioactive material due to the possible reactor accidents into external environment. Because of the functional importance of the containment building, the SIT(Structural Integrity Test) for containments shall be performed to evaluate the structural acceptability and demonstrate the quality of construction. An initial numerical analysis was performed to simulate the results obtained from the SIT for a prestressed concrete(PSC) structure. But the analysis results by the initial model expected smaller displacements than the measured ones by 30% at some locations. Accordingly, the research and development to improve the initial model to corelate the measured results of the SIT more properly have been performed. In this paper, the effects of the loss of concrete due to duct for tendons and the contact of duct and tendons in un-bonded tendon system are mainly evaluated based on the preliminary analysis results. In addition, the importances of the proper definition of mesh connectivity among structural elements of concrete, liner plates, rebars and tendons are discussed.

The damages due to wave impact loads are largely affected by impact pressure impulse and impact load area. The objective of this study is, as the third step, to perform dynamic structural analysis of bow flare structure of 300,000 DWT VLCC using LS/DYNA3D code, and to verify its dynamic structural behaviors. The impact load areas of stiffener space $1.5s{\times}1.5s$ and $2.5s{\times}2.5s$ are applied to bow flare structure part with relatively flexible stiffeners, and with stiff members such as stringers, webs etc., respectively, under the wave impact load with peak height 6.5MPa, tail 1.0MPa, and duration time 5.0msec. Through the dynamic structural analysis in this study, it might be thought that the structural strength of bow flare structure is generally sufficient for these wave impact load and areas, except that large damages were found at bow flare structure area with flexible wide span stiffeners.

An AU-composite beam based on U-shaped steel beams and steel plate anchors of type A was developed. The composite beam reduced the height of the building floor and construction cost. In addition, it decreased the length of construction work, and improved the flexural strength and stiffness as a form of tubes. In this study, AU-composite beams were tested directly and their performance was evaluated through bending experiments. The strength of the specimens was increased initially by linear loads and reached a maximum strength due to destruction of the concrete slab. All of the experiments showed more than 85% of the maximum stress and performed gentle movement. In addition, there was good composite behavior with the steel plate anchor that had excellent composite effects and reached full strength until the maximum strength was reached. When the thickness of the steel plate was increase, the flexural stiffness and strength of the specimen were improved. Therefore, the flexural strength of AU-composite beams can be estimated using the flexural strength formula according to the KBC 2016.
An experimental study was performed to investigate the earthquake resistance of the beam-column connections as a part of a precast concrete moment-resisting frame that uses precast concrete U-shaped shells for the beams. Five full-scale precast concrete specimens and one conventional monolithic concrete specimen were tested under cyclic loading. The parameters for this test were the reinforcement ratio, stirrup spacing, and end-strengthening details of the precast beam shell. The test results showed that regardless of the test parameters, the precast concrete beam-column connections showed good load-carrying capacity and deformation capacity, which were comparable to those of conventional monolithic concrete specimen. However, at large deformations, the beam-column connections of the precast concrete specimens were subjected to severe strength degradation due to diagonal shear cracks and the bond-slip of re-bars at the joint region. For this reason, the energy dissipation capacity and stiffness of the precast concrete specimens were significantly less than those of the cast-in-place specimen.
