  • This paper presents an automated construction quality nonconformity control method. Existing quality control process are confined attributed to the dependence on human quality personnels. They are inefficiency for continuos quality improvements and may cause project schedule delays when any nonconformity is handled timely fashion. For sure, It is important to identify the add hoc quality nonconformity control processes and to implement them into an automated system that controls its' work-flow. It would be desirable to develop the construction project quality nonconformity control system using Building information modeling(BIM) and Information and Communications Technologies(ICT). It may provide an effective platform to prevent quality issues that exist in the existing quality management practice.

  • In order to solve the problem of repositioning the old hader bar attachment and to restore the non-esthetic facial profile and improper occlusion of the edentulous patient due to inadequate jaw relation, determination of vertical dimension of occlusion and tooth arrangement were performed similar to the natural teeth before the teeth loss. In addition to improving the esthetics by restoring the inadequate facial appearance, the composite resin was used to maximize the patient's secondary esthetic satisfaction with the denture.

  • Among various calculation methods for residual stresses, inherent strain method can be useful one for its simplicity. In comparison with finite element method, it is more economical and efficient. First, inherent strain is assumed, and then incompatibility can be calculated from this inherent strain. Based on collocation method, incompatibility equation is solved assuming stress functions which satisfies boundary conditions. Assumed inherent strain can be determined through iterations on the condition that longitudinal residual stress in centerline is yield stress and transverse distortion is the same as predicted one from other method. Calculated results according to this analytic method yield good agreement with experimental ones.
