Overview of estimating the average treatment effect using dimension reduction methods (차원축소 방법을 이용한 평균처리효과 추정에 대한 개요)

  • In causal analysis of high dimensional data, it is important to reduce the dimension of covariates and transform them appropriately to control confounders that affect treatment and potential outcomes. The augmented inverse probability weighting (AIPW) method is mainly used for estimation of average treatment effect (ATE). AIPW estimator can be obtained by using estimated propensity score and outcome model. ATE estimator can be inconsistent or have large asymptotic variance when using estimated propensity score and outcome model obtained by parametric methods that includes all covariates, especially for high dimensional data. For this reason, an ATE estimation using an appropriate dimension reduction method and semiparametric model for high dimensional data is attracting attention. Semiparametric method or sparse sufficient dimensionality reduction method can be uesd for dimension reduction for the estimation of propensity score and outcome model. Recently, another method has been proposed that does not use propensity score and outcome regression. After reducing dimension of covariates, ATE estimation can be performed using matching. Among the studies on ATE estimation methods for high dimensional data, four recently proposed studies will be introduced, and how to interpret the estimated ATE will be discussed.

A Study on Collusion Effects for Bid Award in Public Construction Works (공공 건설공사 담합이 낙찰에 미치는 영향 분석 연구)

  • To estimate collusion effects on bid award in Public Construction works, this paper uses Logit Model, which is a choice variable model. Price, design, competition, and other factors are included, with a special focus on collusion, as independent variables in the model. The empirical results are as follows. First, collusion has little effects on bid award, but great impacts on bidding behavior. Secondly, the score of design is the most important and significant factors among all variables. Thirdly, competition has also significant effects on bid award. Finally it is analyzed that institutional framework and characteristics of public work have some effects on bidding award.

  • 세계기상기구(WMO)에 의하여 홍수예경보시스템의 평가를 위하여 개발된 MOFFS Ver.3의 개선을 위하여 특정유역의 홍수방어체계의 취약성을 평가하고 홍수방어시스템의 완성도를 높이기위한 DSS-FOP를 개발하였다. DSS-FOP는 지점별, 홍수사상별로 예보시스템 운영결과를 간단한 평가양식에 나타내는 시스템이며, 홍수방어구조물(Flood control infra)과 홍수조절운영(Flood control operation)으로 분류한다. 홍수방어구조물은 수문관측, 홍수방어구조물, 홍수조절지휘소로, 홍수조절 운영은 자료처리 및 전송, 홍수예측모형, 예경보발령의 총 6가지 주요평가항목과 하부의 23가지 세부평가항목으로 구성하였다. 점수부여체계는 최대점수, 목표점수, 성과점수, 부족점수, 취약점수의 산정을 통하여 구조물인프라와 운영측면에서의 시스템취약부분을 평가 진단할 수 있도록 하였다. 개발된 DSS-FOP를 이용하여 국내의 한강유역과 UN/ESCAP 태풍위원회의 회원국인 태국의 Khlong U-Taphao 유역을 대상으로 적용하고 그 결과를 비교 평가하였다. 한강유역의 경우 하천정보센터 신설 및 조직강화로 인적자원측면에서 높은 성과점수를 보였으며, 향후 수문레이더 설치 등으로 관측분야에서의 개선이 기대된다. 태국의 Khlong U-Taphao 유역의 경우 목표수준을 다소 조정할 필요가 있으며, 비상행동계획의 마련이 시급하다. 더불어 홍수방어구조물에 대한 지속적인 투자가 필요한 상황이다. 이러한 DSS-FOP의 평가결과는 국가별, 유역별, 호우사상별로 관리되며, 태풍위원회 회원국의 적용 및 기술지침의 작성을 위해 많은 평가 및 조사가 축적되어야 한다.

영재교육을 위한 물리과 수업 및 평가의 실제

  • 영재교육 프로그램 개발의 핵심적인 부분은 영재들에게 적절한 교육과정이며, 대표적인 영재교육과정모형으로 삼부심화학습모형(Enrichment Triad Model: ETM), 학교단위 심화학습모형(Schoolwide Enrichment Model: SEM), 자기주도적 학습모형 (Self-Directed Learning Model), 퍼듀 3단계 심화학습 모형(Purdue Three-Stage Enrichment Model) 등이 있다. 이들 모형에 대한 적용 연구가 일부 초등학교냐 중학교의 시범적인 속진 및 심화 프로그램 실시로 적용된 바는 있으나 정규 교육과정에서는 실시될 기회가 없었다. 국내에서도 2002년 영재교육법 시행령 적용 이후 과학영재학교가 지정되어 운영되고 있기에, 영재교육을 위한 모형을 정규 교육과정 및 교수-학습 과정에 적용하고 그 효과를 밝히는 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 삼부심화학습모형을 적용하기 위한 구체적인 교수·학습 과정안을 개발하고, 이를 과학영재학교 물리수업에 적용하여 그 과정과 학생들의 인식을 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구의 대상은 과학영재고등학교 1학년 72명이며 검사결과 지능지수, 추리력, 수리력, 지각력 면에서 매우 우수한 집단으로 나타났다. 삼부심화학습모형을 실시한 기간은, 1단계 활동을 2주간 실시하였고, 2단계 활동은 4개월간 진행하고 있으며, 3단계 활동은 겨울방학을 이용하여 실시할 계획이다. 삼부심화학습모형에 의하면 1단계는‘일반 탐색 활동을 통한 심화 학습’단계로 정규 교육과정 속에 포함되어 있지 않은 새롭고, 흥미로운 주제나 지식 영역들에 학생들이 접할 수 있도록 설계된 일반적 탐구 혹은 탐색 경험들을 제공하는 것으로 구성된다. 점수를 종속변인으로 하여 회귀분석을 한 결과 TTCT 도형과 언어 검사 모두 WAIS 소검사중의 기본지식문제가 TTCT 전체점수에 가장 높은 영향력을 미쳤다. 지능이 높은 그룹과 낮은 그룹에 대해 WAIS 11개 소검사와 TTCT 전체점수와의 상관을 구한 결과, 지능이 높은 그룹에서는 유의미한 상관을 의미는 소검사가 거의 없었던 것과는 달리, 지능이 낮은 그룹에서는 결정성지능을 대표하는 소 검사와 TTCT 도형검사 점수간의 상관이 유의미하게 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 통해 TTCT는 도형과 언어 검사 모두 유동성지능 보다는 결정성지능과 상관이 있음을 알 수 있는데, 이는 창의력 검사가 문제 해결 상황에 기존의 지식을 이용하는 능력을 측정하고 있기 때문으로 추정된다. 또한 지능이 낮은 그룹에서 높은 그룹에 비해 창의력 검사와 지능 검사 사이의 상관의 정도가 높았는데, 이는 일정 수준까지는 창의적 능력이 결정성 지능에 의해 제한을 받으나 일정 수준 이상의 결정성 지능을 갖게 되면 더 이상 결정성 지능이 창의적 능력을 제한하지 않기 때문인 것으로 해석된다.circ}C$에서 2.5~8.2mg$CO_2$/kg.hr로 일반적으로 보고되고 있는 토마토 호흡속도와 일치하는 결과를 나타내었다.다.환원당인 sucrose 함량은 계속 증가하였고 fructose, glucose, sorbitol의 함량(추황의 sorbitol을 제외)은 생장이 촉진됨에 따라 증가하다가 다시 점차적으로 감소하였다. 이러한 결과는 총당과 환원당의 측정결과와 일치한 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 배의 성장에 따라 산 함량은 감소하였고 당 함량은 증가하였다.luco-pyranoside, quercetin 7-O

  • Logistic discrimination is an useful statistical technique for quantitative analysis of financial service industry. Especially it is not only easy to be implemented, but also has good classification rate. Generalized additive model is useful for credit scoring since it has the same advantages of logistic discrimination as well as accounting ability for the nonlinear effects of the explanatory variables. It may, however, need too many additive terms in the model when the number of explanatory variables is very large and there may exist dependencies among the variables. Mixtures of factor analyzers can be used for dimension reduction of high-dimensional feature. This study proposes to use the low-dimensional factor scores of mixtures of factor analyzers as the new features in the generalized additive model. Its application is demonstrated in the classification of some real credit scoring data. The comparison of correct classification rates of competing techniques shows the superiority of the generalized additive model using factor scores.

  • In this study, we consider to assess the information ability of individuals related to local information. Questionnaire surveys are frequently used for studies on the measuring of information index and such specified indexes of society development. However, if questionnaire papers measured individuals' abilities and such parts of quality, the subjective judgments of respondents cannot but be intervened. Therefore a method which will enable subjective points to be comparatively objectified is needed. In this study, when an attempt is being made to measure individuals' information capacity through questionnaire surveys as the process for calculating the standards of regional information levels. Cases have been looked at for times when, by using a scorecard, individuals' subjective survey result have been be changed to be comparatively objectified scores and such process. The logit model was used in the preparation of the scorecard. In this study, we have presented a clue which enables the comparative measurement about regional information gaps by using characteristics of regional population statistics.

  • B2C 전자상거래 분야의 대표격인 인터넷쇼핑몰은 유통산업의 구조에 큰 영향을 미침에 따라 쇼핑몰의 성공적 구축 및 운영이 주된 이슈로 떠오르고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 웹사이트 평가모델로 주목 받고 있는 3C-D-T 모델을 기반으로 보완하여 국내 인터넷쇼핑몰 웹사이트 평가에 보다 최적화된 평가모형을 제시하였다. 평가모형의 보완은 주로 평가영역 부분에서 이루어졌는데, 인터넷 쇼핑몰 웹사이트에서 비교적 비중이 적은 Community 영역의 평가점수가 전체 웹사이트 평가에 주는 영향을 최소화 시키는 의미가 있었다. 그리하여 3C-D-T 모델의 평가영역의 Commerce 항목과 Community 항목을 통합하여 새로이 Com&Com 항목을 구성했고, 그것으로 보다 최적화 된 인터넷쇼핑몰 웹사이트 평가모형을 구축할 수 있었다. 그리고 이 새로운 평가모델로 국내 메이저 종합쇼핑몰 웹사이트들을 분석, 비교평가 하였다.

Examining the Validity of History-of-Science-Based Evolution Concept Assessment and Exploring Conceptual Progressions by Contexts (과학사에 근거한 진화개념검사도구의 타당도 확인 및 맥락에 따른 진화개념 발달 탐색)

  • Previous studies have investigated the similarity between the development of evolutionary explanations and students' conceptual developments on evolution. However, the validity and reliability of the assessment method reflecting the similarity have not been quantitatively examined yet. In addition, no study has examined the conceptual progressions of evolution concept based on contexts although literature has addressed the contextual difference of evolutionary explanation in the history of science. This study examined the validity and reliability of history-of-science-based evolution concept assessment using ordered multiple choice (OMC) methods and Rasch analysis and explored conceptual progression by three contexts (e.g., human, animal, and plant). The evolution concept assessment developed by Ha (2007) was used to examine 1711 elementary, middle, and high school students, and pre- and in-service science teachers' (biology majors and non-majors) evolution concepts. Internal consistency reliability and item response fitness of the OMC method that provide 0- to 4-point scores to creationism, teleology, intentionality, use/disuse, and natural selection respectively met the benchmark based on the Cronbach alpha and MNSQ indices of Rasch analysis. The level of elementary and middle school students' evolution concepts were located between intentionality and use/disuse while the level of high school and non-biology science teachers' evolution concepts were located between use/disuse and natural selection. The conceptual progressions of evolution concepts were differentiated according to three contexts. This study provided the quantitative evidence for the similarity between the development of evolutionary explanations and students' conceptual developments on evolution and suggest new analysis methods (i.e., OMC) of evolution concept assessment.

Investigation of Learning Progression for Dissolution and Solution Concepts (용해와 용액 개념에 대한 학습발달과정 조사)

  • In this study, we investigated a learning progression focusing on $5^{th}$ to $9^{th}$ graders' performances with dissolution and solution concepts using the construct modeling approach. We designed a construct map describing hypothetical pathways of the concept development of dissolution and solution by analyzing both National Science Curricula and related studies. A conceptions test consisting of ordered multiple-choice items was developed and administered to 826 students. A revised construct map was derived from analyses of the results based on the partial credit model, a branch of polytomous item response theory. The sequence of dissolution and solution concepts presented in the current science curriculum was found to correspond with the learning progression of the students. However, the lower anchor, the concept of the homogeneity of particles in solution, and the factors affecting solubility were not consistent with the expected levels of the construct map. After revising the construct map, we proposed a learning progression for dissolution and solution concepts with five levels: Students of level 1 (the lower anchor) recognize the particles in the solution but misunderstand various concepts; Students of level 2 understand the homogeneity of particles in solution; Students of level 3 understand solubility and the conservation of particles during dissolution; Students of level 4 partially understand the interaction between particles; and Students of level 5 (the upper anchor) understand the interaction between particles and the factors affecting solubility.

An online learning system for evaluating learner's activities and study level (수준별 학습과 학습 관심도를 고려한 학습평가시스템)

  • The biggest strength of the Internet is to enable to access information without any limitation of time and space. As the Internet and IT technologies have been developed, various kinds of teaching ways in education field such as remote lectures, video lectures, and CAI(Computer Adapted Instruction) have emerged. In terms of education, evaluation can be a basic foundation to help teach students in the next learning stage according to each student's level. In addition, it is able to give the information of students'abilities and provides proper learning programs to teach students on a case-by-case basis. The purpose of the paper is to establish evaluation system on the WWW(World Wide Web) that can reflect learning activities part of students in their evaluation scores based on the two important learning theories, Behaviorism and constructivism, which are mainly used in evaluation procedures to judge learning ability of students. This system will give information about learners, and analyze the learning interest of learners. The proposed system enables teachers to evaluate learning ability of students through various kinds of information of learners, and to execute level-based education.
