  • The present study employed a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design to evaluate the effectiveness of a 16-week parent education program based on Respected Parents & Respected Children(RPRC). 124 mothers were assigned to two groups, an intervention (n = 62) group and a waiting (n = 62) group. Mothers in the intervention group participated in the program. After termination of the preventive intervention, differences between pre- and post-tests were examined in maternal characteristics (i.e., depression and anger, maltreatment and general parenting behavior, and parenting efficacy and stress) and preschoolers' aggression. The results indicated that mothers in the intervention group had greater reductions in self-reported negative characteristics. Mothers in the waiting group also reported significant decreases in anger, physical assault and permissiveness/neglect. There was no significant reduction in levels of aggression in the preschoolers. These findings support the argument that a parent education program based on RPRC can be very effective, especially in changing maternal characteristics positively that are crucial to child outcomes.

  • This study aimed to identify the effect parent-adolescent intimacy and parent-adolescent communication on the resilience in male and female middle school students. Data were collected by 276 middle school students using a self-questionnaire. With SPSS 21.0, frequencies, percentages, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Communication with father and intimacy with father were identified as factors influencing the resilience of male middle school students, and communication with father and intimacy with mother were identified as factors influencing the resilience of female middle school students. Communication with fathers has been identified as a factor influencing the resilience of middle school boys and girls, so it is necessary to develop and apply educational programs for positive communication between middle school students and fathers. It is necessary to develop and apply an intervention program to improve intimacy between male middle school students and fathers and intimacy between female middle school students and mothers.

  • The present study employed a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design model in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Respected Parents & Respected Children (RPRC) parent education program for mothers of early school-age children. Ninety mothers were randomly assigned to an intervention (n=45) group or a control group (n=45). Mothers in the intervention group participated in 8 weekly sessions of the parent education program. After the termination of the program, the differences between pretest and posttest were analyzed in terms of both maternal parenting characteristics (i.e., parenting behavior, parenting efficacy, parenting stress, and co-parenting) and children's social competence. The results indicated that only in the intervention group, self-reported positive parenting characteristics were significantly improved and negative parenting characteristics were significantly decreased. There were no significant effects of the program on children's social competence as rated by the mothers. These findings suggest that the RPRC parent education program is effective in changing parenting characteristics known as crucial predictors of child outcomes.

The classes were conducted from July 5 to July 15, 2021, for the second graders of S middle school in Gwangju Metropolitan City, in a total of 6 sessions, i.e., 3 sessions per week for 2 weeks. The influence of classes on parent-child relationship was measured in terms of the understanding of the middle age, degrees of interaction, affection, and bond with parents. In order to analyze the impact of classes, pre- and post-class online surveys were conducted on 184 students who agreed to participate. For the collected quantitative data, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and pairwise t-tests were performed using the SPSS Ver 22.0 statistical program. According to the results, students' understanding of the developmental characteristics of middle age increased and the interaction between the students and their parents increased after the class. And the overall affection with the mother increased significantly. Also, students' bonds with both mother and father were significantly improved. Based on these results, the necessity and direction of home economics class were discussed to form a positive relationship between adolescent children and their parents.

The results of the qualitative analysis are as follows: Action learning teaching method provided opportunities to encounter diverse cases through student led and group activities. Students could experience a specific problem solving method between parents-children relationships as prospective parents. Students could have a chance to solve real-life situations that are difficult to experience in theoretical classroom situations between teachers-parents relationship as prospective teachers. Although the realization of practical knowledge of real-world conflict has been challenging, it has become a chance to have confidence with the role of parents and the role of teachers in the future.

The main concept of a neurofeedback training program is a robot control with brain wave. To do this, Mindset(neurosky, ltd) was used as a brain wave measurement and lego NXT was used to a robot kit. The developed brain wave training program has a 12 chapter. Students meet a problem situation and they invent and make a problem solving robot with NXT kits. After that, they control the their own robot by their brain wave. Developed program was applied to 8 student who live in chunan area. To monitor a change of attention ability, attention behavior checklist, K-CBCL, CTRS-R, ADS were used. These checklist were recorded with before and after the program. The result shows that student attention ability is increase after the program in the most of the checklist.
