The Effect of Process Parameter in Direct Extrusion of Copper Clad Aluminum Composite Materials (Cu-Al 층상 복합재료의 직접압출시 공정변수의 영향)

  • Copper clad aluminum composite materials are being used for economic and structural purposes, The development of an efficient production method of copper clad aluminum composite material rods by extrusion is very important. This paper describes experimental investigations in the direct extrusion of copper clad aluminum rods through conical dies. There are several parameters that have an influence on determining a sound clad extrusion. These variables are extrusion temperature, extrusion ratio, semi-cone angle of die, extrusion force, extrusion velocity, friction of between the container and billet, percentage of copper used and ratio of flow stress of copper to aluminum. In order to investigate the influence of extrusion temperature, extrusion ratio, semi-cone angle of die on the hot direct extrudability of the copper clad aluminum composite material rods, the experimental study have been performed with these variation.

  • The fiber orientation distribution and interface bonding in hot extrusion process have an effect on the maechanical properties of metal matrix composites(MMC's). Aluminium alloy matrix composites reinforced with alumina short fibers are fabricated by compocasting method. MMC's billets are extruded at high temperature through conical and curved shaped dies with various extrusion ratios and temperature. This present study was directed to describe the systematic correlation between extrusion die shape and subsequent results such as fiber breakage, fiber orientation and tensile strength to hot extruded MMC's billet. Extrusion load, tensile strength and hardness for variation of extrusion ratios and temperature are investigated to examine mechanical properties of extruded MMC's SEM fractographs of tensile specimens are observed to analyze the fracture mechanism.

  • A combined extrusion process studied here consists of forward and backward extrusion, and it is formed in single operation. The metal flow involved in the operation has appeared to be difficult to analyze accurately because of mixed directions of the flow. In this study, conventional two operations of a forward and a backward extrusions is transformed into one operation of mixed extrusion. A process designed by an industry expert is simulated by the rigid-plastic finite element method to investigate the metal flow and defects. In addition to the FEM simulation, experimental analysis has been carried out to confirm the design in industry, which includes material characterization, preliminary expriment, and whole experimental forming operation. The experimental results show that warm forming of extrusion is more desirable than cold working and hot forming in view of grain growth. Also two conditions of lubrication between workpiece and die has been investigated.

Influence of Process Parameters on the Forming Compatibility in Composite Extrusion Rods (복합압출재료봉의 공정변수가 성형 적합성에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper presents the plastic inhomogeneous deformation behavior of bimetal composite rods during the axisymmetric and steady-state extrusion process through a conical die. The rigid-plastic FE model considering frictional contact problem was used to analyze the co-extrusion process with material combinations of Cu/Al. Different cases of initial geometry shape for composite material were simulated under different conditions of co-extrusion process, which includes the interference and frictional conditions. From the simulation results, the sleeve cladding rate at the core/sleeve interface was recorded as a distribution of diameter ratio and interference conditions, which will be useful for the investigations of the bonding process during co-extrusion process. In addition, the results of the co-extrusion, connected with the results of the variations of diameter rate and average contact pressure, demonstrate a good agreement and present the possibility of describing the parameters of the plastic zones in non-uniform deformation of these type of composite materials.

세라믹막을 이용한 O/W 타입 에멀젼의 정밀여과

  • 세라믹막을 이용한 oil 폐수 처리의 기초 연구로서 정밀여과용 세라믹막의 제조와 oil(kerosene)-in-water 타입 에멀젼에 대한 막분리 효율이 연구되었다. 정밀여과 막으로서는 압출(extrusion)법으로 성형하여 제조한 $\alpha$-알루미나 튜브(평균 기공크기 0.9 $\mum$)와 이들 튜브(담체)내부에 $ZrO_2$ 또는 $Al_2O_3$ 다공성 박막을 코팅한 2층 구조의 복합막들을 사용하였다. 담체의 높은 투과율 ($1700 l/m^2\cdot h$ at $\Deltap = 1$ atm)을 어느정도 유지하면서 막분리 효율을 증대시킬 수 있는 새로운 슬러리 코팅법이 개발되엇으며, 코팅후 950-1300$\circ$C 에서 열처리한 코팅층의 두께와 평균 기공크기는 각각 5 - 20 $\mum$정도 이었다. 정밀여과막의 특성평가를 위하여 막 제조조건에 따른 코팅층의 두께 및 결함유무를 SEM으로 일단 관찰한 후에 Bubble Point Test와 Mercury Porosimeter를 이용하여 측정한 최대 및 평균 기공반경과 물의 투과량으로부터 막 전체에 대한 결함 유무와 결함의 허용한도등을 비교 분석하였다.

  • This paper presents how to design and construct the Il-sun bridge, the first PSC box girder bridge with Corrugated Steel Web(CSW) in Korea, including 3D analysis results according to construction steps. Also, the 3D analysis for the beams with CSW was performed for the purpose of verifying the role of the flange plate. As the results of this analysis, it is founded that the flange plate plays a role to resist the flexural strength in the nonlinear region. In the near future, we are plan to carry out the load test for these beams with CSW.

  • 본 논문에서는 Smart Factory의 자동 공정에서 결함의 분류를 실시간으로 시도하여 자동 공정 제어를 위한 결함 분류 딥러닝 기법을 제안하고, Pooling 종류에 따른 분류 성능을 비교한다. Smart Factory 구축에 있어서 CNN을 이용한 공정 제어를 통해 제품 생산에 있어서 생산량의 증가와 불량률의 감소를 이루어내는 것이 가능하다. Smart Factory는 자동화 공정이므로 결함의 분류 속도가 중요하지만, 생산량의 증가와 불량률의 감소를 위해서는 정확하게 결함의 종류를 분류하여 Smart Factory의 공정을 제어하는 것이 더욱 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 Pooling을 Max Pooling과 Averrage Pooling을 복합적으로 설정하였을 때 높은 성능을 보였다.

Properties of Nanocomposites Based on Polymer Blend Containing PVDF, Carbon Fiber and Carbon Nanotube (PVDF를 포함한 고분자 블렌드와 탄소섬유/탄소나노튜브를 이용한 복합재료의 특성)

  • Nanocomposites based on poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET)/(PVDF) blended with carbon fibers (CF) and carbon nanotube (CNT) were prepared by melt mixing in the twin screw extruder. Morphologies of the PMMA/PVDF/CF/CNT and PET/PVDF/CF/CNT nanocomposites were investigated using SEM. The aggregation of CNT was observed in PMMA/PVDF/CF/CNT nanocomposites while the good dispersion of CNT was shown in PET/PVDF/CF/CNT nanocomposites. In SEM image of PET/PVDF/CF/CNT nanocomposite, the CNT were mainly located at the PET domain of phase-separated PET/PVDF blend due to the ${\pi}-{\pi}$ interaction between the phenyl ring of PET and graphite sheet of the CNT's surface. In addition, a fairly good compatibility between PET/PVDF matrix and CF was shown in the SEM image. In the case of PET/PVDF nanocomposites blended with the co-addition of CF and CNT, the volume electrical resistivity decreased while no change was observed in PMMA/PVDF/CF/CNT composites. The degree of CNT dispersion in morphology results was consistent with the electrical conductivity results. From the DSC results, the crystallization temperature (Tc) of PET/PVDF/CF/CNT nanocomposites increased due to the co-addition of CF and CNTs acting as a nucleating agent. Flexural modulus of PET/PVDF/CF/CNT were sharply enhanced due to increasing the interaction between PET and CF.

  • 세라믹 필터는 여러 종류의 분진제거 시스템에서 연소 배가스 정제를 위한 가장 적절한 소재로 알려져 있다. 현재까지 다양한 형태의 세라믹 필터가 개발되고 있는데, 캔들 타입(candle type), 튜브 타입(tubular type), 평판 타입(parallel flow type) 등이 그 예이다. 통상적으로 세라믹 캔들 필터는 가압유동층복합발전(PFBC, Pressurize Fluidized-Bed Combustion), 석탄가스화복합발전(IGCC, Integrated coal Gasification Combined Cycle), 석탄가스화연료전지복합발전(IGFC, Integrated coal Gasification Fuel cell Combined cycle)에서 고온 배가스 정제용으로 사용되고 있다. 일반적으로 IGCC나 CTL 합성가스 정제시스템의 경우에는 높은 고압(약 25기압)과 미세분진이 함유되어 있는 분위기에서 운전된다. 그러므로 이때 사용되는 초청정용 세라믹 집진필터는 고온, 고압 및 부식 환경에서 50 MPa 이상을 갖는 높은 강도와 내식성을 갖도록 개발되어야 하기 때문에 SiC(Silicon Carbide)가 가장 적절한 캔들 필터 소재로 적용되고 있다. 이에 따라 집진용 SiC 세라믹 캔들 필터를 개발하기 위해서는 고온에서 내산화성이 우수하고, 부피팽창에 의한 균열이 발생하지 않는 무기결합재의 선정 및 이를 통한 소재의 특성 최적화가 가장 중요한 부분이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 래밍성형 공정을 적용하여 1m급 탄화규소 세라믹 캔들 필터 시작품을 제조하였으며, 래밍성형 공정 이외에 정수압가압성형, 진공압출성형으로 제조되고 있는 세라믹 캔들 필터의 국내외 시장 및 그 전망을 분석하였다.

On the Composites of Poly(ethylene terephthalate) with a Liquid Crystalline Polyester (액정 폴리에스테르와 폴리(에틸렌 테레프탈레이트)의 복합재료 연구)

  • Blends of thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer(TLCP) with poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) were prepared by the coprecipitation from a common solvent. The blends were processed through a capillary die at $287^{\circ}C$ to produce a monofilament. Morphology and mechanical, thermal properties of blends and composites were examined by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), tensile test, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Crystallization kinetics of the blends were investigated by the isothermal DSC method. The Avrami analyses were applied to obtain the information on the crystal growth geometry and factors controlling the rate of crystallization. In the blends, liquid crystalline phase did not reveal any significant macrophase separation and thermal degradation at the processing temperature. From scanning electron micrographs of cryogenic fracture surfaces of extruded fibers, the TLCP domains were found to be more or less finely dispersed with $0.1{\mu}m$ to $0.2{\mu}m$ in size. Interfacial adhesion between the TLCP and matrix polymer was excellent. Tensile strength and modulus of TLCP/PET in-situ fiber composites were enhanced with increasing draw ratio and LCP content.
