Development of Industrial Transgenic Plants Using Antioxidant Enzyme Genes (항산화효소 유전자를 이용한 산업용 형질전환식물체 개발)

  • Oxidative stress derived from reactive oxygen species (ROS) is one of the major damaging factors in plants exposed to environmental stress. In order to develop the platform technology to solve the global food and environmental problems in the 21st century, we focus on the understanding of the antioxidative mechanism in plant cells, the development of oxidative stress-inducible antioxidant genes, and the development of transgenic plants with enhanced tolerance to stress. In this report, we describe our recent results on industrial transgenic plants by the gene manipulation of antioxidant enzymes. Transgenic tobacco plants expressing both superoxide dismutase (SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) in chloroplasts were developed and were evaluated their protection effects against stresses, suggesting that simultaneous overexpression of both SOD and APX in chloroplasts has synergistic effects to overcome the oxidative stress under unfavorable environments. Transgenic tobacco plants expressing a human dehydroascorbate reductase gene in chloroplasts were showed the protection against the oxidative stress in plants. Transgenic cucumber plants expressing high level of SOD in fruits were successfully generated to use the functional cosmetic purpose as a plant bioreactor. In addition, we developed a strong oxidative stress-inducible peroxidase promoter, SWPA2 from sweetpotato (lpomoea batatas). We anticipate that SWPA2 promoter will be biotechnologically useful for the development of transgenic plants with enhanced tolerance to environmental stress and particularly transgenic cell lines engineered to produce key pharmaceutical proteins.

텀블링 시간에 따른 돈육 육포의 품질 특성에 관한 연구

  • 본 실험은 돈육 후지 부위를 이용하여 육포 제조시 텀블링 시간에 따른 육포의, 이화학적 및 관능적 특성을 조사하여 표준화된 육포제조의 기초 자료를 제공하고자 실시하였다. 텀블링 시간에 따른 건조전 육포 양념육의 제품수율은 30분까지는 수율이 유의적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였으나, 60분 동안 텀블링을 실시하였을 때는 30분보다 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 텀블링 시간에 따라 pH는 차이가 없었으나, 보수력은 텀블링 30분까지 유의적으로 증가하였고 이후 부터는 차이가 없었다. 육색은 텀블링 시간이 경과함에 따라 $L^{\ast}-$값과 $b^{\ast}-$값은 감소하는 경향을 보였으나 반대로 $a^{\ast}-$값은 텀블링 시간이 증가함에 따라 점점 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 건조후 제조된 돈육육포의 수분함량은 $29{\sim}30%$ 정도를 유지하였으며, 건조수율은 모두 $48{\sim}49%$ 정도의 높은 수율을 보였다. 육포의 $L^{\ast}-$값은 30분 및 60분 동안 텀블링을 실시하였을 때 10분 동안 텀블링을 실시한 육포보다 낮게 나타났다. 60분 동안 텀블링한 육포의 $a^{\ast}-$값은 10분간 텀블링한 것보다 높았으며, $b^{\ast}-$값은 $a^{\ast}-$값과는 반대의 경향을 나타내었다. 탄력성(springiness)은 60분 동안 텀블링한 육포가 10분 동안 텀블링한 육포보다 높은 값을 보였으나, 탄력성을 제외한 모든 항목에서 유의차가 나타나지 않았다. 관능검사는 모든 항목에서 30분 이상 텀블링한 육포가 좋은 평가를 받았으나, 처리구간에 유의차는 나타나지 않았다.pm을 spiking한 후 SPE상에서 SCX(Strong cation exchange column)을 통한 clean-up과정을 거친 후의 STP의 limit of quantification(LOQ)는 약 0.44ppm이었으며, 이에 대한 회수율은 89.7${\pm}$2.3%(n=6)를 나타냈다. 실제 CODEX에서 권장한 우유의 MRL이 0.6ppm인 점을 감안하면 CODEX권고치에 도달할 수 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발 된 시험법은 지금까지 국내적으로 STP에 대한 시험법이 확립되어 있지 않은 것으로 이와 아울러 간편한 parallux와 병용해 STP에 대한 정량 및 정성 분석을 유도체화 장치 및 형광검출기를 이용해 잔류항생물질 STP에 대한 분석시험법을 개발하였다.화와 네트워크 조직망 구축을 위한 지역중심의 복합 생활문화 공간이 필요할 것이며, 이를 촉진키 위한 mentor academy시스템 접근을 통해 점점 고령화되어 가고 있는 재래시장에 대해 차별적 특성이 반영된 종합적이고 체계적 접근 방법연구가 필요하다./TEX> 자체기술개발, 선진기술 도입, 산업간 및 산업내 기술확산, 국제기술협력 ${\rightarrow}$ 기술혁신의 촉진 ${\rightarrow}$ 총요소생산성과 기업경쟁력(자원 및 역량, 프로세스 경쟁력, 품질경쟁력, 시장경쟁력, 고객성과, 시장성과, 재무성과)의 제고 ${\rightarrow}$ 가격경쟁력(임금, 금리, 물류비용, 환율 등)과 비(非)가격경쟁력(디자인, 에프터서비스, 품질, 운송 등)의 제고 ${\rightarrow}$ 국가경쟁력의 제고 ${\rightarrow}$ 국제수지 흑자 ${\ri

Studies on Preservation of Concentrated Milk by Freeze - Flow Process (Freeze - Flow Process 를 이용한 농축우유의 저장에 관한 연구)

  • A method to store concentrated milk in the liquid state at $-15^{\circ}C$ was developed, and quality changes during storage of milk were evaluated. Combined cryoprotectants (CCP) suitable for storing concentrated milk in the liquid state at $-15^{\circ}C$ were consisted of 17.74% sucrose, 8.87% glucose, 8.87% fructose, 2% glycerol, 0.25% sodium hexametaphosphate, 0.25% NaCl and 0.02% ascorbic acid. The amount of CCP to be added to concentrated milk to depress freezing point to $-15^{\circ}C$ was 38% by weight. Gelation due to protein denaturation was the most serious quality change during storage, which adversely affected appearance and utilization of the stored product. Gelation was observed after 3 weeks storage in the control, but it was not in milk with CCP throughout 18 weeks storage. Amount of protein precipitated increased in the control during storage, whereas there was no protein precipitated in milk with CCP. Surface color and peroxide value of the control and treatment did not change significantly during storage, and there were no marked differences between the control and treatment. These results indicated that quality of concentrated milk could be preserved, without gelation, by storing milk with CCP in the -liquid state at the frozen storage temperature. Besides, energy required for freezing preservation of milk could be significantly reduced by elimination of phase changes for freezing and thawing, and the stored product could be continuously processed for the final products without long waiting time for thawing.

Enhanced Weighted Directional Demosaicking using Edge Indicator (에지 지시자를 이용한 향상된 방향 가중치 디모자이킹 알고리듬)

  • A color image requires at least three color channels to obtain the full color image. However the image sensor obtains only the intensity of the brightness, that is, three image sensors are required for every pixel to capture the full color image. Since the image sensor is quiet expensive, most of digital still cameras adopt single image sensor array with color filter array (CFA) to reduce the size and the cost. Since the image obtained using single sensor array has only one color component per pixel, we need to reconstruct the missing two color components to obtain the full color image. We call this process as color filter interpolation or demosaicking. In this paper, demosaicking algorithm composed of two large step is proposed. Proposed algorithm is combined with several different algorithms such as Edge-directed demosaicking, Second-order gradients as correction terms, Smooth hue transition Interpolation, etc. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs much better than the state-of-the-art demosaicking algorithms in terms of both subjective and objective qualities.

  • In this study, the influence of the CEOs' characteristics on the technology innovation performances of IT venture companies was analyzed. The relation between business performance and the characteristics of CEOs has been dealt with in earlier studies, but most paid attention to financial perspective, and few of these focused on the influence of managers on technology innovation. On the other hand, most of the studies related to the role of managers in technology innovation mainly focused on R&D investment and research infrastructure but did not delve on the characteristics of them in an in-depth way. In this study, the characteristics of CEOs and their technology innovation performances were empirically analyzed based on the results of a recently conducted survey on the IT venture companies. In the analytical aspect, a negative binominal model was applied to solve the over-dispersion problem that often appears in the count variable analysis. As a result, it was found that major, work type, and work experience, among managers' characteristics, have significant influences on managers' technology innovation performances, along with the company's innovation capacity, technological competitiveness, market competition, and support from the government.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate and identify what factors influence the satisfaction of the users for the fast-growing social network game based on the mobile. To this end, we looked around the variable product characteristic factor, quality and the consumer characteristic factor, user self-determination. Also we surveyed 211 male and female college students. The first finding was that all the sub-factors of the quality factor had positive effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games. The second finding was that all the sub-factors of the self-determination factor had positive effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games. The third finding was that only the sub-factors of quality had positive relative effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games, in the order of playfulness, usability, functionality from the most to the least. The findings of this study are expected to offer meaningful and practical suggestions for the development of high quality game contents for the user convenience, as well as the academic significance, the expansion of game-related area of research through the break from the traditional research trends, technology and engineering point of view and from the PC-based online game.

  • This study analyzed empirically difference of purchase intention about price raising of luxury brand according to consumer characteristics such as consumption value, prior knowledge. and perceived risk. Fist, groups according to consumption value showed obvious differences. Group of pursuing uniqueness and ostentation value and group of pursuing quality and pleasure value showed positive purchase intention but group of pursuing social recognition value showed negative purchase intention. Second, groups according to perceived risk. didn't show difference and groups according to prior knowledge showed obvious difference. group of high prior knowledge showed positive purchase intention but group of low prior knowledge showed negative purchase intention. Third, analyzed result about interaction effect of consumer characteristics, Classified group of pursuing uniqueness and ostentation value, expressing high prior knowledge and Classified group of pursuing quality and pleasure value, expressing high perceived risk only showed positive purchase intention, The results of this study present implication to domestic companies aiming luxury brand that performing differently strategy of product and price according to target characteristics is more effective way in differentiating oneself from existing luxury brands and expanding market.

Congener Specific Profiles and Exposure Pathways of Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) in Breast Milk of Chuncheon Area (춘천지역 모유 중 폴리브롬화디페닐메테르(PBDEs)의 이성체별 분포특성과 노출경로)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the exposure pathway of PBDEs in human breast milk collected from new mothers residing in Chuncheon, a comparatively clean area in Korea. The congeners of PBDE in 22 human breast milk samples were analyzed using a high resolution gas chromatography with a high resolution mass detector. The residue level of ${\sum}PBDEs$ was higher in primipara subjects than in multipara subjects (p<0.05). The levels in this study were similar to those of people in some Asian and European countries, but were lower than those of people in north America. In the congener profiles, BDE-47 (mean contribution=36.1%) was predominant, followed by BDE-153 (27%), BDE-99 (11.7%), BDE-100 (11.1%), BDE-28 (7.9%) and BDE-183 (3.5%). The sum of BDE-47 and BDE-153 accounted for more than 50% of ${\sum}PBDEs$ in most samples. BDE-47 was highly correlated with ${\sum}PBDEs$ (r=0.94, p<0.001). No strong trend was observed between PBDE levels and a number of key biological factors (women's age, weight, height and body mass index) examined in this study, however, weak correlations were observed in PBDE levels measured against dietary habits, particularly in fish consumption frequency. It seems that Korean people might be exposed to multiple sources including products of PBDEs, and particularly food resources.

밀배아 분말첨가가 식빵의 품질특성에 미치는 영향

  • 식생활의 서구화로 제빵 산업이 발달하고, 빵을 주식으로 하는 인구가 늘고 있다 또한 기존의 재료보다는 기능성이 첨가된 부재료를 활용한 건강 지향적인 식품의 수요가 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 최근 밀배아의 용도 다양화를 위하여 팔은 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 상업적으로 이용되고 있다. 소맥의 제분과정에서 부산물로 얻어지는 밀배에는 식물 중에서 가장 많은 천연 비타민 E 복합체가 이상적인 상태로 함유되어 있다. 밀배아에 들어 있는 비타민 E는 천연 비타민 E 복합체와 합성 비타민 E로 구분되어진다. 천연비타민E는 8가지 이성체를 가진 자연 비타민 E를 말하며, 4종류의($\alpha$$\beta$${\gamma}$$\delta$)의 토코페롤과 4종의 토코페롤의 복합체이다. 비타민 E는 사람을 포함한 고등동물에 필수적인 영양소로 식물성기름, 곡류, 배아 등에 많이 들어 있으며, 여러 이성질체중 $\alpha$-토코페롤이 체내에서 가장 생물학적 활성이 큰 것으로 알려졌으며, 생체막조직에서 인지질의 천연항산화제 역할을 하여 체내대사를 정상으로 유지하는데 큰 기능을 하는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 우리나라에서 식용으로 소비되는 밀은 거의가 수입에 의존하고 있으며, 밀배아는 거의 전량이 가축의 사료용으로 사용되고 있고 근래에 와서는 배아유, 배아떡, 복합 조미료, 쿠키, 배아를 첨가한 국수 등에 이용되고 있다. 따라서 본 실험에서는 식빵제조시 밀배아 분말을 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10%씩 첨가하여 기능성 식빵을 제조하였을 때의 반죽의 물성, 호화특성을 살펴보고 빵으로 제조하였을 때의 식빵의 품질 특성으로서 1차 발효 손실률, 굽기 손실률, 부피, 질감, 노화도, 관능적 특성 및 mould-free shelf life를 측정하였다.te, ferric citrate가 유제품에 사용하기에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 생이용성을 평가하기 위하여 우유에서 low molecular weight components(ILC)를 분리하고 철분과 복합체를 형성시킨 다음, 철분 결핍된 쥐의 소장에서 loop을 형성시켜 ILC-철분 복합체를 injection하여 철분 흡수도를 조사하였다. Ferrous lactate 100ppm에서 약 25.6%흡수되었고 ferric citrate 100ppm은 24.7%, ferrous sulfate는 19.7%흡수되었다. ILC를 첨가하지 않은 100ppm 철분염 용액은 ferrous sulfate를 제외하고는 흡수도가 감소되었다. 철분 결핍된 쥐에게 gavage 방법에 의하여 철분강화우유를 투여하였을 때 철분 25ppm 시료에서는 ferrous sulfate가 12.5%로 가장 높았고 ferrous lactate는 8.1%, ferric citrate는 6.5% 흡수되었다. 철분 100ppm수준에서는 흡수율이 낮아져 ferrous sulfate는 25ppm 시료보다 절반이하 수준이었다. Ferric citrate는 차이가 거의 없었으며 ferrous lactate는 70%수준이었다. 이상의 결과에서 철분강화우유에 사용하기 적합한 철분염은 ferrous lactate, ferric citrate였는데 특히 ferrous lactate는 제품의 이화학적 품질, 생이용성 측면 모두에서 가장 좋은 것으로 나타났다.다 높았으며, 1회당 평균 8.1$\pm$5.1개의 난포란을 회수하였다. investigation can be separated into sampling and analytical uncertainties, it can be used as a criterion where the resources for the inves

  • Effects of temperature and relative humidity on contents of water-soluble vitamins (vitamins $B_1,\;B_2,\;B_3,\;B_6$, and C) of two commercial tablets ("Multivitamin Dandelion" and "Chewable vitamin C") were investigated. When stored at various temperatures (25, 35, and $45^{\circ}C$) with cap, all measured vitamins were stable and degraded very slowly during 24 weeks of storage; low relative humidity (11% RH) without cap also provided stability during storage period. At higher relative humidities (75 and 100% RH), contents of all water-soluble vitamins, except vitamins $B_2\;and\;B_3$, decreased significantly at early storage period. These results showed that stability of water-soluble vitamins is highly dependent on relative humidity rather than storage temperature.
