Study on Improvement Measure for Ecosystem Health of Samcheonpo Stream (삼천포천의 수생태계 건강성 향상 방안 연구)

  • Aquatic ecosystem is composed of various organic and inorganic matters. Its health is essential for sustaining its members such as vegetations, mammals, birds, fishes and invertebrates. Samcheonpo stream is one of candidate streams in Sacheon area of ecological restoration. For this reason, this study conducted to build up a data base for future comparison. The results shows that biodiversity of Epilithic Diatoms and Invertebrates is below average which means that human impacts such as artificial structures and activities have been negatively related to stream health. Consequently, we suggest several key factors when ecological restoration is performed in the stream.

  • 최근 하천정비 사업은 하천의 치수, 이수적인 기능뿐만 아니라 자연 친화적인 기능을 고려하여 하천을 조성하기 위한 노력들을 많이 하고 있다. 그 결과 기존 콘크리트 호안을 자연형 호안으로 바뀌어 생태계 복원 및 접근성을 높이고, 직선형 하도를 사행하는 자연형 하도로 바꾸는 등의 다양한 하천복원 사업들을 실시하고 있다. 하지만 하천복원에 따른 유지관리를 위한 하천복원공법들에 대한 모니터링과 복원사업에 대한 효과 분석이 제대로 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 따라서 하천복원 전, 후에 대한 모니터링과 평가를 위한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 2001년에 시작하여 2006년 12월에 복원 사업이 완료된 오산천 하천환경 정비사업에 적용된 복원 공법들의 수리학적 모니터링을 통해 복원 후의 효과 및 문제점들을 평가하였다. 우선 수리학적 모니터링의 일반적인 사항으로 강우량 및 홍수량 측정, 하상변동 분석, 하상재료 분석 그리고 항공영상 분석을 수행하였다. 또한 복원 공법에 대한 수리학적 모니터링은 호안의 수리학적 안정성 평가, 어도의 기능 평가, 저수로내에 설치된 인도교 주변과 목교의 수리학적 영향을 분석하였다. 모니터링 결과 복원 후 일부 목교 주변과 자연형 호안 중 일부는 침식되었으며, 하중도 하류부에는 퇴적이 발생한 것을 확인하였다. 금곡취수보에 설치된 어도는 자체안전성에는 문제가 없었으나, 어류 소상을 위한 기능을 다하지 못하는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 상류 하천정비로 인해 하류에 퇴적이 많이 되어 있는 것을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 적용 공법별 수리학적 모니터링 결과는 복원 공법에 대한 모니터링 및 평가를 위한 지침서 작성을 위한 기초자료로 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

Restoration of the Chimi Excavated from the Busosan Temple Site in Buyeo and Study of Its Production Techniques (부여 부소산사지 출토 치미의 재 복원을 통한 제작기법)

  • A chimi(a roof ridge decoration) excavated from the Busosan Temple Site in Buyeo was restored in 1978 at the Buyeo Museum. The gypsum restoration material had deteriorated over time and part of it was seriously damaged and unable to bear the weight of the chimi. The chimi features traces of emergency treatment revealing that the inside of the body and some portions of the tail were reinforced several times using epoxy resin. A condition survey performed in preparation for its transfer for an exhibition found the lower body and wings of the chimi to be highly vulnerable and it was determined that the chimi needed further restoration. The dismantling of the chimi for restoration revealed several elements that provide clues to the production techniques applied by its makers, so they were subjected to inspection. This study explores the production techniques used in the chimi from the Busosan Temple Site that were revealed during the process of dismantling it for restoration. The chimi was inspected using 3D scanning and its rigid vertical shape was restored to a natural form based on the production techniques identified during the dismantling process. The existing restoration material was replaced to improve durability. 3D printed elements were produced based on 3D modelling and were joined to the original chimi to correct its shape and fill in the missing parts, restoring the chimi to its original appearance.

  • This study examined conservation process of white porcelain bottle with phoenix and peony design poly chrome, recovery of golden powder painted porcelain being damaged and colored, and recovery material and conservation methods by using a variety of experiments. Not only traditional method but also modern method can recover golden powder painted area being damaged and/or peel off, and suitable recovery was found out by using experiments. The golden powder paint of pattern edge was recovered not by traditional method but by modern method of golden powder paint with acrylic paint and binder.

그래핀 투명전극의 벤딩에 대한 복원력 연구

  • 플렉서블 디스플레이에 사용되는 투명전극은 벤딩에 의한 인장(tensile) 및 압축(compressive) 스트레스 하에서도 전극의 특성이 지속적으로 유지되어야 한다. 기존 OLED소자의 투명전극으로 사용되던 인듐산화물(ITO, Indium Tin Oxide)는 인듐(Indium)의 희소성 문제뿐만 아니라 벤딩에 대한 복원력이 나쁜 것으로 알려져 플렉서블 디스플레이에는 적합하지 않은 것으로 알려져 있다. 벤딩에 강하고 복원력이 우수한 투명전극 재료가 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 PEN (Polyethylene Naphthalate) 유연기판 상에 그래핀(Graphene)전극을 구현하여 벤딩에 대한 저항특성을 관찰하였고 일반적으로 많이 사용하는 Aluminum 전극과의 비교를 통해 광효율을 지속적으로 유지할 수 있는 플렉서블 OLED용 전극구현 가능성을 연구하였다. 일반적으로 Al금속은 인장 스트레스를 받음에 따라 저항이 증가하고 다시 복원되면 저항이 감소하는 특성을 갖고 있는데 인장 스트레스에 따라 저항과 늘어난 길이와의 관계는 다음과 같다. $R/R0=(L/L0)^2$ ----------------------------------------- (1) 그러나 반복된 스트레스가 가해질 경우 Al 금속 전극은 복원력을 잃고 저항이 원래대로 돌아가지 않는 문제가 발생하는데 반해 그래핀은 벌집모양의 구조를 갖고 있어 벤딩에 대한 강도가 셀 뿐만 아니라 고탄력으로 인해 복원력이 우수하여 여러 싸이클(cycle)의 벤딩 실험에 의해서도 복원력이 지속적으로 유지되었다. Al 금속 전극의 경우 벤딩 각도 또는 정도에 따라 복원력이 유지되는 구간이 있으나 반복적인 벤딩 싸이클에 의해 복원력이 감소하여 인장 스트레스에 의한 저항 증가 후 스트레스 제거 시 저항 감소가 되지 않는데 24시간 동안 전기 저항 변화를 관찰하면 수시간 후에나 저항이 어느 수준까지만 복원되는 것을 확인할 수 있었으나 복원에 오랜 시간이 소요된다는 점에서 그래핀과 비교가 된다. SEM(Scanning electron microscopy) 분석을 통해 인장 스트레스 인가/제거를 반복함에 따라 Al 금속표면이 표면에 열화되는 것을 확인하였으나 그래핀에서는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 높은 투과도와 우수한 전기적 특성을 가지는 그래핀 투명 전도성 전극이 다양한벤딩 조건에서도 뛰어난 복원 특성을 보이는 것을 밝혀내어 차세대 투명 전극 물질로 개발하고자 하였다.

Finite element analysis of the PZT 3203HD bimorph beam actuator based on material non-linear characteristics (박막형 압전재료 3203HD의 재료 비선형성을 고려한 바이모프 보 작동기의 비선형 유한 요소해석)

  • In this paper, material non-linear behavior of PZT wafer(3203HD, CTS) under high electric field and stress is experimentally investigated and the non-linearity of the PZT wafer is numerically simulated. Empirical functions that can represent the non-linear behavior of the PZT wafer have been extracted based on the measured piezo-strain under stress. The functions are implemented in an incremental finite element formulation for material non-linear analysis. New definition of the piezoelectric constant and the incremental strain are incorporated into the finite element formulation for a better reproduction of the non-linear behavior. With the new definition of the in incremental piero-strain the measured non-linear behavior of the PZT wafer has been accurately reproduced even for high electric field. For validation of the measured non-linear characteristics and the proposed approach, a PZT bimorph beam actuator has been numerically and experimentally tested. The predicted actuation displacement, based on the material nonlinear finite element analysis, showed a good agreement with the measured one.

  • In this paper, numerical results of sectional analysis, stress recovery and energy release rate were compared with the results of VABS, 3-D FEM through the blade analysis library. The result of stress recovery analysis for one-dimensional model including the stiffness matrix is compared with stress results of three-dimensional FEM. We discuss the configuration of the blade analysis library and compare verifications of numerical analysis results of VABS. Blade analysis library through dimensional reduction and stress recovery is intended to be utilized in conjunction with pre- and post-processing of the analysis program of the composite blade, high-altitude uav's wing, wind blades and tilt rotor blade.

Experiment to Select Materials for the Conservation and Restoration of a Glass Ewer, Korean National Treasure No.193 (국보 제193호 봉수형유리병의 재보존처리에 사용할 복원재료 선정 실험)

  • The Department of Conservation Science at the National Museum of Korea carried out conservation treatment on a prized glass ewer Designated as Korean National Treasure No.193 in order to enhance the ewer's structural stability and restore its true color and transparency. Prior to the conservation treatment, experiments were conducted on various materials e.g., Epoxy Resin, Acrylic Resin, Photopolymer Resin, Water Glass in order to select the most suitable materials for glass conservation. As a result, cyanoacrylate, acrylic, and photopolymer resin were found to be the most appropriate as adhesives, and acrylic resin was an appropriate restoration material. Notably, however, cyanoacrylate resin must not be used solely, and epoxy resin must be detachable.

Restoration of a White Porcelain Pitcher Using 3D Printing (3D 프린팅을 이용한 백자수주의 복원 연구)

  • White porcelain pitcher with an openwork dragon and cloud design across its surface in the collection of the National Museum of Korea (Deoksu 5531) was acquired in 1915. The restoration has been so far completed only for the mouth of the pitcher. This study discusses a new method based on 3D scanning and printing for the restoration of missing parts in the openwork dragon and cloud design. A strength test was performed on six output materials that have been already commercialized for comparison with the strength of materials used for traditional restoration such as epoxy putty (Quick Wood®) and epoxy (Araldite AY103+HY956®). This process confirmed that the digital technology-aided making of a restoration model requires less time and efforts than handmade work, all the while producing a more precise model. More importantly, this method being a non-contact method, it reduces risks associated with handmade work. Another advantage of this method is that digital pre-restoration images can be saved and used for future references. Notwithstanding, future research is needed on how to effectively apply digital technology for restoration of ancient objects and how to evaluate and use 3D output as well as on the method of shaping, joining and coloring the 3D output.
