The purpose of this study was intended to analyze artistic formativeness represented in the modern fashion design materials. Nowadays the modern fashion design materials is characterized by variety. The fashion materials the most important of fashion is called a softwear in textile industry and emerged as a new field. Fashion design also escaped from the tra-ditional restraint and extended to pursue lib-eral clothes and the designer's creative inten-tion has resulted in conceptual and conven-tional alteration as a new mode of plastic ex-preseeion. As a results of analysis of the formative fea-ture of Art style represented in the modern fashion design materials. First Surrealism had been searching for a new way of confronting a social and rtistic environment that was stifling and repugnant to them. Accordingly the wide applicaytion of the various object due to the thought of Sur-realism through the modern fashion materials brought the diversification and individua-lization of the modern fashion design. Second Pop Art that is made modern mech-anic culture and commercialism brought the great transformation in the history of Art out of the existing style and the sense of ex-pression. And the plastic characteristics of Pop Art that has a gravity as modern fashion materials on a them of the elements of popular consumer's society. That is the common and cheap objects were introduced into fashion materials itself or pat-tern. Third Minimalism is a trend in art att-empting to seek essence of the object by presenting simple and disciplined expressions by minimal formative means. The features of external form are simplicity clarity unrelated composition and symmetrical structure. Mini-malism was a quest for basic elements repre-senting the fundamental esthetic values of art. The minimal expression in modern fashion materials mean fabrics with simple surface and is contained using simple geometric pattern or utilizing textiles without any patterns. Fourth Eroticism is a kind of psychological revolution in the development of human civilization and is deeply rooted in the cultural tradition of myth religion customs and art. So Eroticism must be distinguished from a mere animal reproduction. These erotic char-acteristics were holded the meanings of sexu-ality through the modern fashion materials. Especially it was expressed the sexual part of body was nakedly showed through trans-parent materials or semitransparent like metalic and opaque materials. Recently the various kinds of new materials such as paper vinyle plastic metal as well as human body were applied to new fashion de-sign. First of all the new materials will give modern fashion designers stimuli and inspi-ration. It can also express values of moderners to despise materialism and uniformed modern society and to recover humanity and self-actualization.

This study is intended to understand an implication system and significance in the current community which a body image symbolizes by correlating it with fashion that is on the rise as a principal issue in various fields. For this study, the symbolism of the body image was contemplated in terms of philosophy and art, and then on the basis of it, the symbolism of the body image shown in modern fashion design was analyzed through fashion works. The research results are as follows, 1. The manifestation of sex can be taken as the symbolism of the body image which is expressed in modern fashion design. Recently sexual chaos and vagueness such as homosexuality and bisexuality are expressed through a dress and its ornaments. Though displaying sexual characteristics of male and female as they are exposing a sign or a diagram, decorating a part of body or representing sex in garments, uncertain sex identity in modern society is manifested in dress and its ornaments. It is to deny absoluteness regarding sex and emphasize diversity indwelt in human beings, and after all it shows to pursue the human essence. 2. Another symbolism of the body image is body expression as the human race and an ethnic group. The discriminating situations and the restoration of their status appeared in modern fashion too. Moreover, their cultures and issues came to alter the aesthetic standard of body made from a view of the Western white supremacist. Hereupon, fashion trends like ethnic fashion, Orientalism and African look etc. appear according to this tendency, which represents race and national identity and in addition, which signifies to present transcendental human conception embracing alienated human conception. 3. The symbolism of the body image expressed in a body, and a dress and its ornaments as nature can be considered in terms of the concern on environmental contamination and the respect of echo system. Getting away from reigning over, developing and stamping down nature at their will, the human beings pursue unity with nature, which is described in fashion. They are stressing that natural materials and objects such as animal, plant and soil etc. should activily be introduced into fashion and humans are a communal fate group and should reframe their status in nature at last. 4. The body image shown in a body, a dress and its ornaments as technology is transformed and recreated by modern scientific techniques and medical science to show post human conception namely, forthcoming future human conception as a cyborg which loses individual identity. This presents a perfect future human conception with high level of preternatural power but after all, leaves us a task to seek the meaning of human existence in alienation caused by the loss of human identity and existence. In this manner, the moderns crave for perceiving the identity of a natural human being in the current thoughts tendency of the modern times such as postmodernism, post structuralism, deconstructionism, feminism and so on, which build discussions affecting the art and fashion worlds. The categories, like sexual characteristics indwelt in a human body, racial classifications, the natural environment surrounding human beings and development of science, bring out the importance of the internal and external meaning in today's fashion which a human body contains, and present sew human conception in the coming future society.

Costume is a formative art expressed by active human unlike the field of other living formativeness, and an expression of social actions based on a style of culture in a period. Therefore, costume has a deep connection with a mode of living and is recognized as a 'culture for living', and is more characteristic culture than all metaphysical cultures including architecture, craft, painting, and sculpture. Therefore, it expresses wearer's status or social standing, and furthermore, ideas and values of the times with aesthetic features in their form, color, materials, and pattern, so it is expressed as a mirror reflecting the phases of the times as. Korean costume had been dressed until the period of the Joseon Dynasty without a great change and started to be simplified in a simple style on the grounds of inconvenience in behaviors with the opening of an interchange of Western culture in the civilized period. And, this movement had been continued and Korean costume had been applied as an everyday dress under the name of 'Reformed Korean Costume'. Since the middle phase of 1980s, it aroused many people's interests with the introduction of designs focused on activity and convenience. In 1990's, many people had taken a growing interest in Korean costume with development of various designs keeping pace with the internationalization period and Korean Costume had been revitalized under the name of 'The Modernized Korean Costume'. And, since the 21st century, the advanced communication and full-scaled import of Western fashion have made the introduction of many fashion information in the world into Korea, affected greatly the fashion market, led consumers' sensitivity on a trend to be increased. Therefore, a design accepting a trend 'The Modernized Korean Costume' with fashions has risen. Second, this study is an attempt to suggest a revitalization method of domestic casual Korean costume brands by developing and suggesting competitive and highly value-added products with connection of practicality, variety, and highly sensitive fashion styles. For theoretical study, domestic and foreign literatures, academic journals, professional monthly magazines, and newspapers were examined. And, a process of change and features of the Korean fashion since the civilization period, and concept, features and images of casual Korean costume were analyzed, On the basis of analyzing image, features, and consumers' preference of the modernized Korean costume, a design development plan was established and 10 suits of costume were designed and made.

본 연구의 목적은 오래전부터 한국인이 애용해 온 기본 도형을 분석하여 의미와 상징성을 밝히고 그 유형을 분류하는 것이다. 선조들은 원, 네모, 세모 형태를 선호하였는데 한글에 'ㅇ, ㅁ, ㅅ'가 존재하는 사실이 이를 뒷받침한다. 이를 위해 고조선부터 삼국시대에 이르기까지 복식과 유물 등에 나타난 기본 도형을 고찰하였다. 연구방법으로는 도서, 인터넷 및 사진자료 등을 분석하였으며 도자기, 청동기, 복식 등 다양한 곳에 나타난 도형의 연결고리를 찾았다. 그 연구결과 첫째, 원은 하늘, 해, 달, 별, 청동거울, 얼굴 등을 상징하는데 일찍이 천문관측이 발달했던 사실과 원형제단이나 제사장의 표징인 원형 청동거울이 이를 뒷받침한다. 둘째, 땅(地)을 상징하는 것은 네모라고 보았다. 하늘과 땅신에게 모두 제사를 지냈었고 네모는 부족 공동체의 안녕과 풍요를 담은 현실을 의미하는 형태이다. 마름모형이 더 많이 애용되었는데 이는 힘을 상징하는 세모가 두 개나 들어있는 형태이기 때문이라고 추측한다. 셋째, 빗살무늬 토기에서도 나타나지만 뫼 '산(山)'과 사람 '인(人)' 및 모자나 마늘의 형태 또는 나 '사(?)' 등으로부터 세모가 파생되었다고 보는데 하늘, 땅 다음으로 사람이 중요하다는 고대인의 사고에서 발생한 것으로 본다. 아름다운 유산인 기본 도형의 연구를 통해 한국역사의 오랜 전통과 정신을 이해하고 새로운 창조문화로 이어지길 기대한다.

모든 문화가 모두 그러하듯이 옷의 색채, 그 배후에는 그 민족이 몸담고 살아온 자연환경과 그 환경 속에서 화육(化育)화된 인생관이나 근성이 작용하고 있다. 혼례는 두 성(性)이 좋게 합하여 위로는 종묘(宗廟)를 모시고 아래로는 후세를 이루는 것을 널리 사회적으로 인정받는 것이다. 예(禮)에서 기본중에 하나가 복식이다 혼례복에 나타난 색채가 가지고 있는 의미와 상징성은 조선시대의 미(美)와 유기적인 조합으로 잘 나타나 있다. 현재까지도 지켜져 내려오는 전통 혼례복 속에 나타난 오방색의 특징을 찾아봄으로써 통념적으로 알고있는 다섯 가지의 촌스러운 색조화가 아니라 자연환경과 같이 청명하며 화려하고 철학적인 색채임을 분석하고자 한다. 본고는 한국혼례복에 나타난 색채의 특징을 알아보기 위하여 한ㆍ중ㆍ일의 혼례복과 단청을 일 예로써 비교하고 한국 전통 색채의 이론적 배경을 살펴보았다. 이를 통해서 한국색채는 의미론적 상징 색채이며 그 근원은 음양오행에서 출발했으며 도교의 태극도설, 유교의 도참사상과 단청의 색채가 직접 관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 음양(陰陽)의 오채(五彩)가 삼라만상(森羅萬象)을 나타내는 객이고 하나가 아닌 두 가지 색 또는 그 이상의 색채와 연결될 때에 상호작용에 의하여 균형미를 이루는 색채이다. 또한 자연숭배 및 인간존엄 사상이 깃들여 있으며 길복(吉福)을 기원함과 동시에 벽사(僻邪)의 의미를 부여한 것을 알 수 있다. 인간이 복되고 부정함에서 벗어나 우주만물이 조화롭게 이루어지길 기원하는 조형미는 시각적인 만족만이 아닌 정신적인 만족까지도 추구하는 미의식인 것이다.

한국전통색이란 시대를 초월하여 한국민족의 삶속에 살아있는 색이다. 이러한 전통색 중 한국전통색을 대표하는 청·홍의 색조특성을 알아보기 위하여 조선시대의 색명과 염직유물의 색조를 조사하였다. 한국전통색 청·홍의 색조를 조사하기 위해여 먼저 조선시대의 문헌을 통하여 출현색명을 조사하였다. 색조를 나타내는 한국말에는 대단히 다양한 형용사가 앞에 붙어 색조를 특징짓는다. 색명에는 여러유형의 형용사들이 앞에 붙는데, 그 중에 대표적인 것은 농색과 담색을 나타내는 형용사들이다. 이처럼 제한된 색명의 가능성을 증가시키기 위하여 조선인들은 다양한 톤의 청색계(32색)와 홍색계(40개)의 색명을 만들어 내었다. 이러한 청·홍색계의 출현율은 대단히 높고, 조선시대의 궁중복식에서도 주조색으로서 사용되었다. 조선인은 다양한 청·홍색계의 배색으로 그들의 음양론에 기초한 색체관과 세련된 미의식을 표현하였다. 박물관에 있는 염직유물들의 색체는 측색되어 먼셀컬러시스템과 ISCC-NBS의 계통색명법에 의해 분류되고, 고찰되었다. 또한 전통색조인 남염과 홍화염이 산업체에서 이용되어지도록, 남염과 홍화염의 염색방법을 계량화하여, 데이터를 제시하였다.

사극 드라마는 더욱 극적인 전개를 원하는 대중들의 취향에 따라 퓨전 형태로 변화하고 있으며, 고증 의상 또한 현대적인 감각으로 표현되고 있다. 본 연구는 사극 드라마에 나타난 고증 의상의 현대화의 사례 탐색 및 학습자의 인식을 조명해보고, 향후 사극 드라마에서 고증 의상의 현대화에 대한 함의점을 제시해보는데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법은 이론적 연구와 사례 연구 및 하브루타 학습법을 통한 서술형 설문지 응답법을 병행하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 첫째, 사극 드라마에서 고증의상의 현대화에 대한 본질적인 문제는 사극 드라마의 역사적 사실을 저해하는 고증의상의 과도한 현대적 변용으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사극 드라마에서 고증의상의 현대화에 대한 대학생들의 부정적인 인식으로는 한국 고유의 정체성 상실, 드라마의 몰입도 저하, 미디어가 갖는 교육적 영향력의 견해가 주를 이루었다. 긍정적인 인식으로는 전통 문화의 인식 제고를 통한 관심 증대, 시대적 흐름의 변화에 대한 절충, 대중들의 시각적 유희 증대의 견해가 주를 이루었다. 셋째, 사극 드라마에서 고증의상의 효과적인 연출 방향에 대한 함의점은 사극 드라마 관계자들의 인식개선과 고증의상에 대한 의상디자이너의 철저한 사전 조사, 전통복식에 대한 심층적인 연구와 체계적이고 명확한 교육적 접근, 정부의 노력과 시청자들의 관심이 필요하다.

오늘날 사회의 제반현상들은 각 분야별로 각각의 트렌드가 있으나 복식의 변화와 관련된 패션 트렌드가 모든 트렌드를 주도적으로 이끌어가고 있다. 패션 컬렉션은 패션 트렌드와 관련하여 전반적인 경향과 특성을 살펴볼 수 있는데 파리, 밀라노, 뉴욕, 런던 컬렉션은 세계 4대 컬렉션으로 불리며 최신 유행을 창출하고 있다. 이러한 트렌드를 가장 빠르게 전해주는 패션 디자이너들의 컬렉션은 의상과 더불어 메이크업과 헤어, 액세서리 등의 전반적인 요소들을 보여준다. 패션 컬렉션에서 연출되는 메이크업은 디자인이나 색채뿐만 아닌 발상 자체에서부터 다양한 이미지가 시도되는 자리로 이를 중심으로 매 시즌의 새로운 메이크업 트렌드가 완성된다. 따라서 본 연구는 2008${\sim}$2009 F/W 패션 컬렉션의 메이크업 경향을 분석하고, 분석된 메이크업 경향이 각 화장품 브랜드의 새로운 트렌드에 미친 영향을 알아보고자 한다.

'Heongbu and Nolbu 1' is a series of the on-line game 'Tales Runner.' It is based on a traditional Korean fairy tale. However, the game characters in Heongbu and Nolbu 1 wear casual clothes even though the game is set in the Joseon Dynasty. Therefore, this paper presents proposed game characters clothes based on traditional Korean costumes from the Joseon Dynasty. This work should help inspire gamers and game designers with the beauty of Korean traditional costumes and familiarize them with an aspect of Korean people's identity. A literature review of online games and game characters was carried out, and game characters' clothes were analyzed. The design motifs of historical relics of the Joseon era were evaluated. Three styles, one traditional and two "fusion" styles integrating traditional and modern elements were proposed for each of the 4 characters: Chowon, Ruff, Bada and Abell. The chulrik and jurip were used as design motifs for Chowon. A traditional chulrik, short chulriks and pants are suggested. Second, the dongari and jeonrip were used as design motifs for Ruff. A traditional dongdari, sapok pants, deck pants and a vest are suggested. Third, the jeogori and chima were used as design motifs for Bada. A traditional female hanbok, arm warmers, short-sleeved jeogori and dress are suggested. Fourth, the dang-ui and daeran-chima were used as design motifs for Abell. A traditional dang-ui and daeran-chima, blouse, skirt, jumper and tight Bermuda shorts are suggested. The length, shape and color were converted into new styles, but some traditional elements such as the git and goreum were retained.

기존 게임기라고 불리던 Microsoft X-box, SONY Playstation, Nintendo 등에서 PC로 게임 시장이 전환되어지고, 최근에는 모바일 기기의 성능이 고사양화 됨에 따라서 모바일 게임시장의 성장세가 높아지고 있다. 게임시장의 확산은 전 세계적인 추세이고, 게임 소재의 발굴은 게임회사에게 많은 고민을 주고 있다. 애니메이션과 게임의 종주국이라고 불리는 일본은 전통문화 콘텐츠를 이용하여 많은 캐릭터와 게임 스토리 제작에 활용하고 있으며, 후발 주자인 중국 역시 중국의 전통문화를 이용한 게임 콘텐츠 제작 소재 발굴에 노력하고 있다. 연구대상은 중국 온라인 시장에서 롤 플레잉 게임으로 성공을 거둔 대표적인 게임으로 당시대의 복식에서 부터 벽화에 나타난 당 시대의 모습을 게임 속에 가상공간으로 재현함으로서 게임사용자들에게 전통문화를 가상체험하게 하였다. 본 연구에서는 중국 문화유산인 돈황 막고굴의 벽화에 나타난 불교경전의 이야기를 소재로 게임화 한 <천녀유혼2>에 대한 분석을 하고자 한다.
