Donald K. Sebera model can quantitatively compare the preserving environment by calculating the preserving valuation index with changing only the temperature and humidity. In this study, Donald K. Sebera model was used in order to compare and evaluate the preserving valuation index on the best condition and the worst condition in the temperature and humidity range of public records management act. As the results, the preserving valuation index in the best conditions was larger 2.47 times than the worst conditions within the preserving environment permitted in public records management act. Also, the influence of the humidity on the preserving valuation index of a paper archives as decreasing the activation energy for the hydrolysis reaction was larger rather than temperature. Thus the preserving valuation index can easily evaluate the suitability of the temperature and humidity conditions for preserving a archives. Therefore it can be used as useful tool for preservation of archives on change of the temperature and humidity.

This research was initiated on the basis that public libraries should serve its role as a supplier of intellectual informations to all users and the National Library of Korea should play a role as chief supporter of collection preservation in individual libraries. Situated in such context, this study attempted to investigate several aspects of the present conditions of Korea public libraries, including the current technical ability and technicians available for materials preservation and restoration, current policies for preservation and provisions for disasters, and opinions on establishment of national library preservation and restoration center. Data was drawn from a survey with 208 public libraries in the country. As a conclusion, this study discusses such as 1) securing collection management policies for material preservations and restorations at the level of individual libraries 2) building tripartite system for efficient and methodical material preservations and restorations including public libraries, regional central libraries and the National Library of Korea.

The development of the Preservation Metadata: Implementation Strategies (PREMIS) aims to preserve practices beyond the limits of the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) conceptual framework; however, the examples and guidelines on connecting each metadata element to the actual data are unclear, making the design of preservation metadata in real digital archives difficult. Hence, this study investigates actual PREMIS 3.0-based preservation metadata management cases, preserves digital resources in various digital archive environments, and derives implications for the implementation and design of preservation metadata. Based on the analysis, the study proposes preservation metadata elements that can be considered when designing preservation metadata for digital archives according to PREMIS 3.0 application profile guidelines.

This study aimed at developing preservation metadata elements and its applications for research information which is considered as a valuable digital resource these days. Specifically, the developed preservation metadata intends to provide a basis for the research information of the government-funded research institutes in economic and social science fields which are major knowledge producers of national policy. To ensure the interoperability of the research information across various departments and organizations, this study compared the elements from the CERIF(European Standard) and those from the PREMIS Data Dictionary which is based on OAIS reference model (ISO 14721). Based on this comparative analysis, this study developed complementary preservation metadata elements based on the two standards' characteristics. Consequently, this study suggested a new preservation metadata elements and its applications that are compatible between the two systems and can be implemented in practice.

The purpose of this paper is to research and suggest ideal environment for the preservation of the National library collections. Current conditions of National library was also investigated, and many results showed that not only technical resolutions but also reorganization of staffs and structure is needed. Moreover, for the realization of ideal preservation environment, mid-long term development plans for the National Library was also provided.

본 연구는 돼지 액상정액을 인공수정용 100ml 플라스틱 병에 보존하면서 BF5희석액과 Butschwiler 희석액 간에 보존 온도별 차이를 조사하고, BF5 희석액에서의 글리세롤 농도의 효과를 조사하여 돼지 액상정액을 좀더 장기간 사용할 수 있는 방법을 찾고자 실시하였다. 돼지 액상정액을 5$^{\circ}C$ 냉장고에 보존하면서 조사한 바에 의하면, 37$^{\circ}C$에서 0.5 및 2시간 배양후의 정자운동성은 전체 보존기간동안 BF5 희석액이 Butschwiler 희석액보다 유의하게 (P<0.05) 높게 나타났고, 정상첨체비율은 두 희석액간에 차이가 없었다. 돼지 액상정액을 15$^{\circ}C$에 보존하면서 조사한 바에 의하면, 3일부터 7일 보존시 까지 정자운동성과 정상첨체비율에 있어서 Butschwiler 희석액이 BF5 희석액보다 유의하데 높게 나타났다. BF5 희석액을 이용한 돼지 액상정액의 글리세롤 농도의 효과에 있어서는 최종 글리세롤 농도가 0, 2, 3, 및 5% 보다 1%일 때 가장 높은 정자운동성과 정상첨체비율을 나타내었다. 분만율, 복당 생존자돈수 그리고 출생시 평균 생시체중은 BF5 희석애과 Butschwiler 희석액간에 차이가 없었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 종합해 볼 때 BF5 희석액을 5$^{\circ}C$에서 Butschwiler 희석액은 15$^{\circ}C$에서 6-7일 동안 돼지 액상정액을 보존할 수 있었다.
