Development of DC-DC Converter for Arc Welding Machines using A Novel Half Bridge Soft Switching PWM Inverter (새로운 하프 브리지 소프트 스위칭 PWM 인버터를 이용한 용접기용 DC-DC 컨버터의 개발)

  • This paper presents a new full-bridge soft switching PWM DC-DC converter circuit topology that adding two switcher, two lossless snubber quasi-resonance capacity, two diode to power source for general welding machine. This half bridge soft switching Is low voltage hight current output that first coil current is smaller than second coil current in high frequency transformer can be obtained with decreasing path loss in conventional DC bus line switcher. As it operate ZCS/ZVS in full range, high frequency, high efficiency and high output are implemented at low voltage and high DC current switching power supplies. All of this items are got from simulation and the result of experiment. If make up for the weak points of this proposed circuit, it will be used more easily for next generation TIG, MIG and MAG type of arc-welding machine.

고밀도 플라즈마를 이용한 스퍼터링 기술 연구

  • 스퍼터링 기술은 타겟 사용 효율 및 증착률 향상 개념에서의 소스 특성향상과, 증착 기판으로 이동하는 스퍼터링 입자량 및 이온화율 제어를 통한 코팅 박막의 특성향상 등 크게 두 축을 중심으로 발전되어 왔다. 특히 소스 특성 향상 관점에서 고진공에서의 스퍼터링 기술, 듀얼 마그네크론 스퍼터링 및 무빙 마그네트론 스퍼터링 기술 및 원통형 스퍼터링 기술이 개발되어왔으며, 코팅 박막의 특성 향상과 관련하여서는 스퍼터링 방전 내 플라즈마의 밀도의 증대 및 기판 입사 입자의 에너지 제어를 통한 박막의 치밀도 향상 연구가 많이 이루어져, UBM 또는 ICP 결합 스퍼터링 및 Arc-스퍼터링 혼합공정이 연구되어 왔다. 박막 증착에서 박막의 물성을 조절하는 주요인자는, 기판에 입사하는 입자의 에너지로, 그 조절 범위가 좁고 넓음에 따라 활용 가능한 코팅 공정의 window가 설정된다. 지난 15년간 증착박막의 물성 향상을 위하여 스퍼터링 소스의 제어 관점이 아닌 전원적 관점에서 스퍼터된 입자의 에너지 제어를 MF(kHz), Pulse 전원 사용을 통해 이루어져 왔고, 특히 High Impulse Pulse를 이용한 HiPIMS 기법이 연구개발과 시장의 이해가 잘 어울려져 많은 발전을 이루고 있다. HiPIMS 공정은 박막의 물성을 제어하는 관점을 스퍼터링에 사용되는 보조 가스인 Ar 이온에 의존하지 않고, 직접 스퍼터된 입자의 이온화를 증대시키고, 이 이온화된 입자를 활용하여 증착 박막의 치밀성 및 반응성을 증대시켜, 박막특성을 제어하는 기술이다. HiPIMS의 경우, 초기 개발 당시에는 고에너지, 고이온화의 금속 이온을 대량 생성할 수 있다는 이론적 배경에서 연구되었다. 그러나 연구 개발이 진행되면서, 박막의 물성과 증착률 등 상반된 특성이 나타나면서 이에 대한 전원장치의 개량이나 스퍼터링 소스의 개선 등 다양한 개발 연구들이 요구되고 있다. 재료연구소에서는 스퍼터링 기술에서 가장 문제가 되고 있는 타겟 사용효율화 관점 및 스퍼트된 입자의 이온화률 증대에 대한 두 가지 문제를 동시에 해결할 수 있는 방안으로 고밀도 플라즈마를 이용한 스퍼터링 기술을 개발하고 있다. 본 발표에서는 이러한 HiPIMS의 연구 개발 동향과 고밀도 플라즈마를 이용한 스퍼터링 기술에 대한 연구 동향을 발표하고자 한다.

A Safety Improvement for the Design Change of Westinghouse 2 Loop Auxiliary Feedwater System (웨스팅하우스형 원전의 보조급수계통 설계변경 영향 평가)

  • The auxiliary feedwater is an important to remove the heat from the reactor core when the main feedwater system is unavailable. In most initiating events in Probabilistic Safety Assessment(PSA), the operaton of this system is required to mitigate the accidents. For one of domestic nuclear power plants, a design change of a turbine-driven auxiliary feedwater pump(TD-AFWP), pipe, and valves in the auxiliary system is implemented due to the aging related deterioration by long time operation. This change includes the replacement of the TD-AFWP, the relocation of some valves for improving the system availability, a new cross-tie line, and the installation of manual valves for maintenance. The design modification affects the PSA because the system is critical to mitigate the accidents. In this paper, the safety effect of the change of the auxiliary feedwater system is assessed with regard to the PSA view point. The results demonstrate that this change can supply the auxiliary feedwater from the TD-AFWP in the accident with the motor-driven auxiliary feedwater pump(MD-AFWP) unavailable due to test or maintenance. In addition, the change of MOV's normal position from "close" to "open" can deliver the water to steam generator in the loss of offsite power(LOOP) event. Therefore, it is confirmed that the design change of the auxiliary feedwater system reduces the total core damage frequency(CDF).

Effect of Sand and Dust Ingestion on Small Gas Turbine Engines (대기 중 모래 먼지 유입이 소형 가스터빈엔진에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구)

  • Small gas turbine engines are used in aircraft as an auxiliary power unit (APU) to supply compressed air to start the main engine and for emergency electricity. When an aircraft is operating in an environment in which sand and dust is present in the ambient air, the engines as well as the APU ingest the sand and dust. This causes erosion of the engine and a degradation in its performance. The present study investigated the effect of sand and dust ingestion on small gas turbine engines. The concentration of sand and dust was $4.4{\times}10^{-5}kg$ per unit kg of air, which follows the specification in MIL-E-8593. The test was conducted for 10 h, and the engine performance before and after the test was compared. In addition, a tear-down inspection was conducted to examine the erosion patterns of sub-components such as the impeller and turbine wheel.

LED Fiber-Optic Lighting Devices Developed for Medical Assistance for the Local Treatment Retractor (국부치료를 위한 Retractor용 LED 광섬유 의료보조조명 장치 개발)

  • This paper introduces a device providing close local lighting to the affected part, where the operation-purpose astral lamp alone cannot shed light directly, in an operation room of hospitals or clinics, which helps clinical doctors perform safe treatment of the affected part deep inside a human body. This medical assisting lighting is a device necessary to prevent fatal operation failures, which can occur with minute operation processes, such as tumor removal or angiorrhaphy. The components, such as the light source and power supply were designed to be low power consuming and small in size, have a narrow angle lens was used to increase the light spreading effect and focused illumination. The end-caps of the light transmission device using an optical cable and the lighting device were designed in the waterproof type to enable disinfection of these devices after use for the next patients. According to the measurement of the light source properties made after development of the retractor lighting device, the illumination intensity was 490 lux, the brightness was $11,550cd/m^2$, general color rendering index was 78, color temperature was 11,000K, and the intensity distribution was even, which were confirmed to be adequate for medical assisting local lighting.

  • A GEN TEST of the auxiliary power unit of a T-50 series aircraft is performed as part of the operational test of its emergency power system on the ground before flight. At this time, the auxiliary power unit should be automatically turned off via the response signal of the ECU when power is not normally supplied to the emergency power system. If the correct operation of the emergency power system cannot be confirmed on the ground, it is not possible to proceed with the flight. This kind of defect is a major factor causing the operation rate of the aircraft to be decreased. The defect code identified by the ECU was confirmed as a defect in the inverter. However, the same defect was found after replacing the inverter. This report presents an improved method of identifying the cause of the defect by analyzing the response characteristics of the ECU and emergency power system and allows the ECU to be recognized as the cause of the defect if the inverter does not generate a voltage within a certain time. Also, the application of the improved method confirmed that it can satisfy the output request time of the emergency power system and effectively prevent the auto-shutdown of the auxiliary power unit.

  • The korea Electric Railway feeder voltage is DC 1500V and AC 250000V. The auxiliary power supply of the vehicle auxiliary power units for domestic electrical feed has been developed with domestic technology hyeonchae mounted station, and domestic uses, such as voltage, have been exported to other countries. However, do not use at domestic that can be used for DC 3000V voltage auxiliary power unit does not develop, vehicle exports global. This has already been replaced by imported products from other nations is a real situation. Thus, our auxiliary power unit for the DC 3000V was developed, it will be exported to Ukraine. In this paper, We introduced circuit and structure of developed auxiliary power supply unit, and verified the performance with output characteristic of the auxiliary power unit.

  • 현재, 고속철도차량의 국내기술확보를 위해 한국형 고속전철이 개발되어 단품시험, 완성차시험, 공장시험 등을 통해 기본적인 성능을 확인한 후 현재는 본선시운전 시험을 실시하고 있다. 시제차량의 성능 및 기능을 종합적이고 효율적으로 확인하기 위해 고속철도 시운전시험시 상시 계측시스템을 시제차량에 설치하여 운영하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 상시계측시스템을 이용하여 보조전원장치에 대한 고장진단을 실시한 것에 대하여 기술하였다.

  • The color and the installation position of the LED lamp for night voyage of the ship are changed by the purpose of it. The power dissipation occurs because a navigation light is on and off or continuously on. In addition, in case that the light is produced by operating generator in the ship, it's very inefficient except that it's on a voyage. Therefore in this dissertation, we construct auxiliary power system for the LED lamp of the ship, producing and developing a module, a panel, and a charging system using Dye-sensitize Solar Cell.

  • In this paper, we have posed contactless power supply method using the contactless transformer with multiple primary winding. Also, the system uses resonant frequency tracking method for safe power supply at the elevator's car. The proposed system has been verified by the simulation using ICA4 and Maxwell. The contactless power transmission system is designed for 5[kW] rate.
