Undifferentiated Adenocarcinoma with Rhabdoid Features in the Stomach: A Case Report (횡문근양 미분화 위선암 1예 보고)

  • Rhabdoid tumor has been considered to be a rare subtype of Wilm's tumor with Rhabdomyoma features. Since rhabdoid tumor that developed in the kidney was described for the first time in 1989, it has been reported in the gastrointestinal tract, although this is rare. The appropriate treatment is radical resection, and the effect of adjuvant chemotherapy has not yet been reported on. The outcome of extra-renal rhabdoid tumor is different from renal rhabdoid tumor and the former shows a poor prognosis. Among extra-renal rhabdoid tumors, undifferentiated gastric adenocarcinoma with rhabdoid features is very rare and its prognosis is poor. A 63 years old male patient underwent total gastrectomy for a tumor that developed in the greater curvature of the gastric body and this was diagnosed as undifferentiated gastric adenocarcinoma with rhabdoid features, according to the histopathology. We experienced an undifferentiated gastric adenocarcinoma with rhabdoid features that was diagnosed by immunohistochemical staining and we report here on this case.

  • The established gait analysis studies have regarded leg as one single spring. If we can design a knee-ankle actuating mechanism as a primary actuator for supporting knee extension, it might be possible to revolutionary store or release elastic strain energy, which is consumed during the gait cycle, and as a result leg stiffness is expected to increase. An ankle joint actuating mechanism that stores and releases the energy in ankle joint is expected to support and solve excessive artificial leg stiffness caused by the knee actuator (primary actuator) to a reasonable extent. If unnecessary kinematic energy is released with the artificial speed reduction control designed to prevent increase in gait speed caused by increase in time passed, it naturally brings question to the effectiveness of the actuator. As opposed to the already established studies, the authors are currently developing knee-ankle two actuator system under the concept of increasing lower limb stiffness by controlling the speed of gait in relative angular velocity of the two segments. Therefore, the author is convinced that compensatory mechanism caused by knee actuating must exist only in ankle joint. Ankle joint compensatory mechanism can be solved by reverse-examining the change in metatarso-phalangeal joint (MTPJ) tilt angle (${\theta}_1=0^{\circ}$, ${\theta}_2=17^{\circ}$, ${\theta}_3=30^{\circ}$) and the effect of change in gait speed on knee activity.

Design on the large section of station tunnel under shallow overburden (저토피고 대단면 정거장터널의 설계)

  • For minimizing the effect on the focus of civil traffic and environment conditions related to the excavation at the traffic jamming points, an underground station tunnel was planned with 35.5 m in length and bigger area than $200\;m^2$ in sedimentary rock mass. It faced the case that the overburden was just under 13 m. Not based on a pattern design but on the case histories of similar projects and arching effect, the design of large section tunnel under shallow overburden was investigated on three design subjects which are shape effect on the section area, application method of support pressure, and supporting and tunnel safety. According to the mechanical effect from section shape, a basic design and a preliminary design was obtained, and then supporting method of large section was planned by the supporting of NATM and a pipe roof method for subsidence prevention and mechanical stability. From the comparative study between both designs, it was found that the basic design was suitable and acceptable for the steel alignment of tunnel lining, safety and the design parameter restricted by the limit considered as partition of the excavation facilities. Through the analysis result of preliminary design showing the mechanical stability without stress concentration in tunnel arch level, it also was induced that shape effect of the large section area and yielding load obtained from deformation zone in the surrounding rock mass of tunnel have to be considered as major topics for the further development of design technique on the large section tunnel.

  • 예로부터 빛고을로 인식되었던 광주가 근세에 이르러 의병활동, 광주학생운동, 5\ulcorner18민주화운동, 아직도 끝나지 않은 이념전쟁으로만 비추어질 수도 있는 지역의 이미지를 재정립하고, 도시 경쟁력의 증대를 위한 방안으로 CI사업 추진계획을 수립하고 3개년에 걸쳐(1999~2001) CI전략 개발, CI디자인 개발, 문화상품 개발, 도시환경디자인 개발 등을 추진하였다. 최근 커뮤니케이션에 있어서 캐릭터는 정보의 시각화라는 측면에서 다른 그래픽 심볼에 비해 설득적이라 할 수 있고, 기존의 심볼의 이미지 보완적 보조심볼로서의 개념이 아닌 독자적인 영역이 구축되어야 하므로 광주광역시 캐릭터 개발은 Character Identity 차원에서 메인캐릭터와 이를 각각의 용도에 맞춰 응용전개시키는 이벤트 캐릭터, 브랜드캐릭터로 구분하여 유형에 따라 다르게 적용되어야 할 적용성 및 활용성에 중점을 두고 개발되었다. 광주광역시의 메인캐릭터 개발컨셉은 "빛"과 "생명"으로 결정된 TCI이념을 활용하는 것과 광주의 상징 요소로서 "무등산"을 활용하는 두 가지 방향에서 개발이 진행되었으며, 1999년 10월의 TCI 추진회의 1차선정을 시작으로 광주시민을 포함한 전국민 설문조사와 2000년 4월의 의회설명회에 이르기까지 다양한 방법을 통해 캐릭터 개발안에 대한 평가와 검토/수정과정을 거쳐 기본캐릭터를 완성하게 되었다. 이를 통해 본 광주광역시의 캐릭터는 중장기적으로 치밀하게 계획되고 실천되어야 하며 변화하는 환경에 효율적으로 대응하는 구체적이고 실천적인 연구평가와 접근방법에 대한 연구 등으로 그 지역의 특징적인 문화를 상품화시키려는 노력이 캐릭터개발을 토대로 뒤따라야 한다. 촉진, 중요 연구 주제의 도출 및 연구 진행 계획을 수립하고, 국제적 산학 협력 강화를 통해 공동 연구를 도출하는 자리를 마련함. $\textbullet$본 학술회의에서 발표된 논문들을 취합하여, 논문집 및 CD-ROM을 제작하여 세계적 수준의 연구 결과를 알리고 이 분야에 관련된 학문, 기술 발전에 큰 도움이 됨.emove effectively radioactivity with in Adsorbent. Factors Influencing Fear of Falling in Patients with Parkinson's Disease in the Community (지역사회에 거주하는 파킨슨병환자의 낙상공포 영향 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relation of motor function, depression, and fear of falling, and to identify factors influencing fear of falling in patients with Parkinson's disease in the community. The participants were 180 patients with Parkinson's disease who were selected by convenience sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression. There was a significant difference in fear of falling according to gender, occupation, walking assistance device, number of falls, Parkinson's disease stage, duration of illness, antihypertensive drug, motor function, and depression. Fear of falling showed significant positive correlations with motor function, and depression. Depression, number of falls, Parkinson's disease stage, gender, antihypertensive drug, and motor function were significant predictors influencing fear of falling in patients with Parkinson's disease, and these variables accounted for 36.0% of the variance. Depression of the influencing factors was the strongest factor. The results of this study suggest that a variety of intervention strategies for preventing or mitigating depression with systematic nursing assessment of the influencing factors on fear of falling are needed to prevent fear of falling in patients with Parkinson's disease.

  • The demand for fuel and energy resources continues to grow due to increased consumption and emerging economies in all parts of the world. With this increase in demand, crude oil prices in the international market has jumped dramatically. Global warming, which is a consequence of increasing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, has become scientific, social, and political concerns. To cope with global warming and energy crisis, cost-competitive biofuels are urgently needed. In addition, development of an infrastructure, which supplies energy stably and diversifies energy resources, as well as new cost-saving technologies should be developed to reduce the costs of producing biofuels. Due to high oleic acid content, rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) is currently the potential feedstock for biodiesel production in temperate zone region and the production and use of rapeseed oil is already commercialized in Europe. In Korea double-cropping (rice and rapeseed) became more prevalent because it reduces competitions from land constraints. Production of rapeseed as a biodiesel feedstock may reduce the influence of rising oil prices and nation's dependence on imported petroleum and increase job opportunities and farm incomes.

Biodegradation of aromatic dyes and bisphenol A by Trametes hirsuta (Wulfen) Pilat (흰구름버섯에 의한 방향족 염료와 비스페놀 A의 분해)

  • Trametes hirsuta, a white rot fungus, exhibits the ability to degrade synthetic aromatic dyes such as congo red (CR), methylene blue (MB), crystal violet (CV), and remazol brilliant blue R (RBBR). The mycelia of T. hirsuta degraded RBBR and CR more efficiently than CV and MB in the PDB liquid medium (supplemented with 0.01% 4 aromatic dyes). In these mycelia the activities of three ligninolytic enzymes-laccase, manganese peroxidase (MnP), and lignin peroxidase (LiP)-were observed. Among these, laccase was identified to be the major enzyme responsible for the degradation of the four aromatic dyes. The degradation of bisphenol A was also investigated by culturing the mycelia of T. hirsuta in YMG medium supplemented with 100 ppm bisphenol A. The mycelia of T. hirsuta were found to degrade bisphenol A by 71.3, 95.3, and 100 % within incubation periods of 12, 24, and 36 hr, respectively. These mycelia also showed ligninolytic enzyme-like activities including those similar to laccase, MnP, and LiP. Therefore, these results indicate that T. hirsuta could emerge as a potential tool for the remediation of environmental contamination by aromatic dyes and bisphenol A.

소다라임 유리기판상 다층박막 (SiO2/Nb2O5/SiO2/Nb2O5/SLG) 증착 및 저반사 특성 연구

  • 터치패널은 키보드나 마우스와 같은 입력장치를 사용하지 않고, 스크린에 손가락, 펜 등을 접촉하여 입력하는 방식이다. 누구나 쉽게 입력할 수 있는 장점으로 인해 기존에는 현금인출기, 키오스크 등 공공분야에 주로 많이 사용되어 왔으나, 최근의 터치스크린은 휴대폰, 게임기, 네비게이션, 노트북 모니터 등 개인정보기기의 입력장치로 활용분야가 넓어져가고 있다. 최근의 정전용량 방식의 터치패널은 디스플레이 패널 위에 올여지는 형태의 Add on type이며, 테블렛의 출현으로 터치패널의 사이즈가 커지면서 인듐산화물 투명성 전도막의 두께가 두꺼워지고, 이로 인하여 광학적 특성인 투과율이 저하되는 문제가 발생하여 투과율을 높여주기 위한 새로운 전도박막 제조방법이 요구되는 상황이다. 현재의 고글절 산화물(TiO2)과 저굴절 산화물(SiO2)의 적층형태의 저반사 특성의 다층막은 주로 플라즈마 보조의 전자빔 증착기를 이용하여 제조되기 때문에, 저반사 특성이 우수하지만 대면적 크기의 대량생산에는 적합하지가 않다. 그리고 태양전지의 에너지 변환효율도 태양전지로 흡수되는 태양광의 량에 크게 의존하기 때문에, 태양전지로 흡수되는 태양광 량을 높이기 위하여 태양전지의 가장 위층에 혹은 모듈 제작시 커버유리의 내부에 저반사 특성을 갖는 박막을 코팅한다. 특히 박막태양전지의 경우는 대면적의 유리위에 저반사 코팅을 해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 In-line magnetron sputtering system을 사용하여 소다라임 유리 기판 위에 고글절 산화물(Nb2O5)과 저굴절 산화물(SiO2)의 2층 적층형태의 "SiO2/Nb2O5/SiO2/Nb2O5/SLG" 다층 박막을 증착하고, 저반사의 광학적 특성을 하였고, 이를 논하고자한다. 일반적으로 빛이 투과되는 투명한 기판이 공기층에 노출되어있을 경우에 기판의 양면에서 공기층과의 계면에서 각각 4%의 반사율 즉, 총 8%의 반사율을 갖는데, 본 연구의 다층 박막에서는 530에서 540nm 파장 영역에서 투과율은 95% 이상, 반사율은 4.8% 이하이었다. 이 결과는 터치패널과 박막태양전지 시장의 Needs에 대응할 수 있기 때문에 산업의 응용측면에서 매우 중요한 연구 성과를 얻었다고 말할 수 있다.   • The purpose of this study was to develop CD-ROM so that students can understand 8051 Microprocessor unit easily in electronics circuit practice subject of technical high school. The study gives students, who have difficulties in learning, a chance for self-directed and supplementary learning by suggesting interface process with 8051 Practice Kit. To achieve these purposes, literature survey, collecting textbooks and materials, development of CD-ROM were gradually carried out. Each steps were as follows: Firstly, in literature survey, concepts and characteristics of multimedia and application to class were reviewed. Secondly, text contents on 8051 Microprocessor unit were analyzed, main contents were extracted and graphic, sound, animation were made. It was consisted of eight basic learning subjects, and designed to flow systematically. In this study, we presented a kind of teaching-learning material by developing CD-ROM in 8051 microprocessor unit in electronics circuit practice subject as a central matter.   • Since the late 1990s, 'smart clothing' has been developed in a various way to meet the need of users and to help people more friendly interact with computers through its various designs. Recently, various applications of smart clothing concept have been presented by researchers. Among the various applications, smart clothing with a health care system is most likely to gain the highest demand rate in the market. Among them, smart clothing for check-up of health status with its sensors is expected to sell better than other types of smart clothing on the market. Under this circumstance, research and development for this field have been accelerated furthermore. This research institution has invented biometric sensors suitable for the smart clothing, and has developed a design to diagnose various diseases such as cardiac disorder and respiratory diseases. The newly developed smart clothing in this study looks similar to the previous inventions, but people can feel more comfortable in it with its fabric interaction built in it. When people wear it, the health status of the wearers is diagnosed and its signals are transmitted to the connected computer so the result can be easily monitored in real time. This smart clothing is a new kind of clothing as a supporting system for preventing various cardiac disorder and respiratory diseases using its biometric sensor built-in, and is also an archetype to show how smart clothing can work on the market.
