Optimum Service Life Management Based on Probabilistic Life-Cycle Cost-Benefit Analysis (확률론적 생애주기비용-이익분석 기반 수명관리 최적화 기법)

  • Engineering structures including civil infrastructures require a life-cycle cost and benefit during their service lives. The service life of a structure can be extended through appropriate inspection and maintenance actions. In general, this service life extension requires more life-cycle cost and cumulative benefit. For this reason, structure managers need to make a rational decision regarding the service life management considering both the cost and benefit simultaneously. In this paper, the probabilistic decision tool to determine the optimal service life based on cost-benefit analysis is presented. This decision tool requires an estimation of the time-dependent effective cost-benefit under uncertainty to formulate the optimization problem. The effective cost-benefit is expressed by the difference between the cumulative benefit and life-cycle cost of a deteriorating structure over time. The objective of the optimization problem is maximizing the effective cost-benefit, and the associated solutions are the optimal service life and maintenance interventions. The decision tool presented in this paper can be applied to any deteriorating engineering structure.

  • 컴퓨터 하드웨어의 발달로 인해 하드웨어의 성능을 충분히 발휘할 수 있는 소프트웨어의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 소프트웨어가 복잡해질수록 개발 시 인적 비용, 물적 비용, 시간 비용이 증가하는데, 실제 개발 비용보다는 개발 후 유지보수에 사용되는 비용이 훨씬 크다. 유지보수는 코드 수정을 통해 이루어지는데, 다른 사람이 작성한 코드를 수정할 경우에는 코드의 이해가 요구된다. 코드는 흐름도를 이용하게 되면 좀 더 쉽게 이해할 수 있는데, 복잡한 코드를 흐름도로 작성할 경우 흐름도가 자체가 복잡해져서 코드 이해가 어려워지는 경우가 많다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위한 방법의 하나로 1979년 PAD가 개발되었다. 이 논문은 C 소스코드를 입력받아 PAD를 자동으로 생성하는 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템을 이용하면 유지보수 비용에 소비되는 시간과 노력을 절약할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Development of Defect-Repair Method-Cost Mapping Algorithm of Concrete Bridge Using BMS Data (BMS 데이터를 활용한 콘크리트 교량의 결함-공법-비용 매핑 알고리즘 개발)

  • As aged infrastructures have been increased, the importance of accurate maintenance costs and proper budget allocation for infrastructure become prominent under limited resources. This study proposed a mapping algorithm between representative defects, repair methods, and the estimated maintenance costs for concrete bridges. In this regard, using BMS (Bridge Management System) data analysis, bridge repair methods were classified and matched with defects according to their locations, types, and sizes. In addition, the maintenance costs were estimated based on the amount of work-load and quantity per unit using CSPR (Cost Standard Production Rate). As a result, the level of accuracy was an average of 85.1 % compared with the actual bill of quantity for Seoul bridge maintenance. The accuracy of maintenance costs is expected to be enhanced by considering the various site conditions such as pier height, extra charge conditions, additional equipment, etc.

A Proposal of Repair Cost Estimating Criteria for Persistent Defects in Apartment Houses

  • It has been often noted as a problem that as there are no objective and clear criteria for the repair cost estimate of persistent defects, when a claim arises in relation to an apartment construction, significantly different amounts of compensation may be given for similar defects based on the experience and tendencies of the construction experts asked to make a judgment. For this reason, this research aims to present defect managers with a more reasonable and objective estimation criteria and a system to determine the repair cost of defects based on an analysis of relevant factors. The research findings show that the historical cost system is applied first, and then a standard of estimation is used to estimate the cost for the items that are not included in the historical cost system. The criteria for the repair cost for each defect is as follows: the repair cost for defects arising from a regulation violation is determined by calculating the reconstruction cost of the parts in question after demolishing them; the repair cost for progressive defects is determined based on a contribution ratio proportional to the age of the building; the repair cost for repetitive defects is calculated by considering an alternative to maximize the intended function of the defective parts; and the repair cost for value depreciation defects is determined based on the ratio of the warranty period to the lapsed years. However, repair cost estimation for dual value depreciation defects should be studied in future research.

  • The reliability of a power system has close relationship with the maintenance of the distribution systems. This paper presents the method of the maintenance planning of the distribution systems by minimizing the interruption cost. The interruption cost for the equipment failures is formulated using time varying failure rate and minimized by optimization of the object function. The proposed method provides the priority list for the investment of the maintenance subject to the limited investment budget by the economic analysis. In order to test the proposed method, the modified distribution system of a rural area is introduced for the testing system. Test results show that the proposed method is good enough by evaluating the improvement of the reliability of the power system.

  • 최근 강구조물의 건설이 지속적으로 증가되어 왔다. 또한 강구조물의 유지관리 및 안전성에 대한 관심이 급증하고 있다. 시설물의 안전성 확보는 대형사고의 사전 예방, 공용 중 갑작스런 가동 중지에 의하여 발생되는 비용증가를 사전에 차단 할 수 있다는 점에서 그 중요성은 매우 크다고 할 수 있다. 또한 각종 구조물은 열악한 사용조건, 고온, 고압, 고속, 대형화됨에 따라 일단 사고가 발생 했을 경우 대형사고의 위험이 예상되므로, 제작시 검사의 강화뿐만이 아니라 공용 중 구조물의 안전성을 진단 할 수 있는 모니터링 체계의 확립이 필요한 시점이다. 현재 국내에서 강구조물들의 균열 모니터링 시스템에 관한 연구는 매우 미흡한 실정이며, 현재 사용되고 있는 비파괴검사 방법은 UT와 RT등이다. 이러한 방법들은 많은 시간과 경비가 소요되며 또한 거대구조물 혹은 사람의 접근이 어려운 곳에는 적용하기가 힘들다. 또한 주기적인 검사 작업으로 인한 막대한 시간과 비용의 손실이 발생되고 있으며 초기 결함을 조기에 인지하지 못함으로써 적절한 보수 보강 대책이 이루어지지 않아 보수 보강 비용의 증대를 초래한다. 더욱이, 결함이 진전된 이후에도 이것을 인지하지 못하여 적절한 대응을 하지 않는다면 대형사고로 이어질 수도 있다. 따라서 강구조물에 대한 효율적인 유지관리가 가능하고, 초기결함으로부터 균열이 진전하여 붕괴되는 사고를 미연에 방지하며 초기에 보수보강 작업을 수행함으로써 보수보강 비용도 절감 할 수 있는 모니터링 시스템의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 모니터링 시스템의 개발은 기술적 측면에서 강구조물의 효율적인 유지 관리 노하우를 얻을 수 있으며 경제 산업적 측면에서는 보수 보강 비용 및 불필요한 주기적 점검 비용을 절감 할 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 전위차법을 이용하여 강구조물의 필렛 용접부에서의 균열진전양상을 파악하고 정량화를 통해 필렛용접부의 잔여수명을 예측하였다.

  • The future costs of energy and the cost of the repair of apartment buildings are expected to rise continuously in proportion to the initial costs. Therefore it has become important for these increasing costs to be incorporated and reflected in the design of the building. Systems such as structure and services for the buildings remain constant, but a number of the walls and windows can vary and thus have a major influence on the total construction and running costs of a building. The critical factor in the apartment unit design for the optimization of life cycle cost (LCC) is the ratio of the x and y axis of the walls in the unit plan. This paper demonstrates how to achieve the optimal size and thus optimize the LCC of the building.

  • The work of constructing apartment housing involves various fields of industry that are linked to each other, and is based on a design document prepared by multiple technicians and architects. Consequently, design errors, material flaws or faulty construction works can cause defects, which sometimes overlap with each other. Construction companies should repair any defects found in a completed building within a specified period of time, and to do this, should establish a business plan by efficiently predicting the cost of defect repair. As it is very difficult for companies to accurately predict the occurrence of defects, historical performance data is used as a base. For domestic apartment housing units, data on the cost of defect repair is insufficient, so there are hardly any methods that can be used to make precise predictions. Therefore, the intent of this study is to develop a model that can predict the cost of defect repair by supply type and area, based on historical performance data with ten years worth of post-completion.

  • 소프트웨어는 Invisibility, Complexity, Changeability 라는 태생적 문제점을 가지고 있으며, 특히 소프트웨어의 유지보수 비용의 문제는 소프트웨어 산업에서 중요한 이슈로 부각되고 있다. 유비쿼터스 시대에서 유지보수의 비용을 체계적으로 관리하고, 그 비용을 절감하기 위해서는 유지보수 비용을 절감할 수 있는 환경 지원과 자가성장이 가능한 커뮤니티 컴퓨팅 모델을 개발 및 도입을 위한 정책적 지원 필요성을 제안한다.
