Objective: In this study, I explored the difficulties and rewards of the experience of married middle-aged five women with jobs through narrative inquiry. The graduate course work of married women with jobs is accompanied by more difficulties due to the multiple roles of wife, mother, worker, and student. Methods: Data from this study were collected through in-depth interviews. It took 15 weeks from September 1, 2017 to December 20, 2017. Six in - depth interviews were conducted for each of the five participants, and 60 to 120 minutes were required for one meeting. Results: The researchers gathered stories of married middle-aged women who had undergone doctoral studies and divided them into three categories: 'motivation for entry, difficulty during doctoral study, and rewarding during doctoral study'. Conclusion/Implications: This is expected to be a concrete resource for supporting married middle-aged women in doctoral programs.

"Boram" is a new $F_1$ hybrid of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) with early maturing, high yield and high oleic acid. This cultivar was developed from the cross between Mokpo-CGMS (male steile line) and 8634-B-1-3-1-8 (restore line) for the production of edible oil and biodiesel in 2006. Yield trials were conducted from 2007 to 2008 and regional adaptation trials were examined at four locations in 2008. "Boram" has green and parted leaf, yellowish flower, and black seed coat. The ripening period of "Boram" is similar to "Sunmang", but 3 days faster than "Tammiyuchae". The average seed yield of the regional adaptation trials was 424 kg/10a, which was 11 and 48% higher than "Sunmang" and "Tammiyuchae" variety. Total oil content of "Boram" was 44.2%. In fatty acid composition, "Boram" has no erucic acid. However, oleic acid content is 68.5%, which is 3.7 and 5.4% higher than "Tammiyuchae" and "Sunmang". And total glucosinolate content was 2.27mg/g. Therefore this variety is recommended as a leading variety at southwestern areas including Jeonnam, Jeonbuk and Kyeongnam provinces and Jeju island of Korea.

1967년 유치과학자의 한사람으로 귀국한 나는 이듬해 식량자원연구실을 차리고 석유단백질 생산 5개년계획을 세우고 연구작업에 돌입했다. 끈질긴 노력끝에 균주를 찾고 시제품도 만들어 공급이 시작될 무렵, 세계 석유파동으로 생산이 중단돼 5년간 7천만원을 투입한 연구결과가 사장되는 안타까운 현실을 체험했다. 그 후 새로 착수한 연구과제는 청결미 생산과 미곡종합처리장 건설이었는데 9년에 걸친 연구끝에 개량곳간과 한국형 미곡종합처리체계를 완성해 전국에 보급하고 있어 과학자로서 큰 보람을 간직하게 되었다.

1987년 7월 20일자로 창간해 이번호로 꼭 110호를 발행하면서 5주년을 맞게 된 "출판저널"은 책의 문화를 자극하고 가꾸는 보람 속에 지난 시간을 보내왔다. 이 보람은 단순히 "출판저널"만의 노력으로 이뤄진 것이 아니라 유관 단체들의 적극적이고 끊임없는 서원에 힘입은 것이 사실이다. 창간 5주년 기념호를 발행하면서 출판관련기관 단체장들의 애정어린 평가와 격려, 충고의 말씀을 듣고자 지면을 마련했다.

미국의 전력공학 교육과 연구에 대하여 보면 전기공학 교육은 평준화되어 전기, 전자, 제어, 전산기, 통신등의 분야가 "전기공학"이라는 한 교과과정에서 융화를 이루고 있기 때문에 졸업생들은 어떠한 직종이라도 쉽게 적응할 수 있게 되어 있다. 이들은 직장에서 자체교육을 통하여 실용적인 전문지식을 습득하고, 대학원 과정에서도 또한 전공분야의 훈련을 쌓는다. 미국의 전력회사나 전기기시회사는 이와 같이 평준화된 기초교육을 받은 졸업생을 흡수하여 각기 취미에 맞는 분야를 선정하도록 한다. 회사는 이들의 창의력을 살리고 새로운 기술을 도입함으로서 전력산업 자체를 시대와 병행하여 첨단화하고, 또한 사원들에게도 일하는 보람을 준다.하는 보람을 준다.
