A Multiple Branching Algorithm of Contour Triangulation by Cascading Double Branching Method (이중분기 확장을 통한 등치선 삼각화의 다중분기 알고리즘)

  • This paper addresses a new triangulation method for constructing surface model from a set of wire-frame contours. The most important problem of contour triangulation is the branching problem, and we provide a new solution for the double branching problem, which occurs frequently in real data. The multiple branching problem is treated as a set of double branchings and an algorithm based on contour merging is developed. Our double branching algorithm is based on partitioning of root contour by Toussiant's polygon triangulation algorithml[14]. Our double branching algorithm produces quite natural surface model even if the branch contours are very complicate in shape. We treat the multiple branching problem as a problem of coarse section sampling in z-direction, and provide a new multiple branching algorithm which iteratively merge a pair of branch contours using imaginary interpolating contours. Our method is a natural and systematic solution for the general branching problem of contour triangulation. The result shows that our method works well even though there are many complicated branches in the object.

Development of Technology Mapping Algorithm for CPLD by Considering Time Constraint (시간제약 조건을 고려한 CPLD 기술 매핑 알고리즘 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose a new technology mapping algorithm for CPLD under time constraint. In our technology mapping algorithm, a given logic equation is constructed as the DAG type, then the DAG is reconstructed by replicating the node that outdegree is more than or equal to 2. As a result, it makes delay time and the number of CLBs to be minimized. Also, after the number of multi-level is defined and cost of each nodes is calculated, the graph is partitioned in order to fit to k that is the number of OR term within CLB. The partitioned nodes are merged through collapsing and bin packing is performed in order to fit to the number of OR term within CLB. In the results of experiments to MCNC circuits for logic synthesis benchmark, we can shows that proposed technology mapping algorithm reduces delay time and the number of CLBs much more than the existing tools of technology mapping algoritm.

Car Plate Recognition using Morphological Information and Enhanced Neural Network (형태학적 정보와 개선된 신경망을 이용한 차량 번호판 인식)

  • In this paper, we propose car license plate recognition using morphological information and an enhanced neural network. Morphological information on horizontal and vertical edges was used to extract the license plate from a car image. We used a contour tracking algorithm combined with the method of histogram and location information to extract individual characters in the extracted plate. The enhanced neural network is proposed for recognizing them, which has the method of combining the ART-1 and the supervised teaming method. The proposed method has applied to real world car images. The experimental results show that the proposed method has better the extraction rates than the methods with information of the thresholding, the RGB and the HSI, respectively. And the proposed neural network has better recognition performance than the conventional neural networks.

  • Selectivity estimation has been a crucial component in query optimization in relational databases. While extensive researches have been done on this topic for the predicates of numerical data, only little work has been done for substring predicates. We propose novel suffix tree transform algorithms for this problem. Unlike previous approaches where a full suffix tree is pruned and then an estimation algorithm is employed, we transform a suffix tree into a suffix graph systematically. In our approach, nodes with similar counts are merged while structural information in the original suffix tree is preserved in a controlled manner. We present both an error-bound algorithm and a space-bound algorithm. Experimental results with real life data sets show that our algorithms have lower average relative error than that of the previous works as well as good error distribution characteristics.

  • Colored thread algorithm, suggested to be used for the label switching network, needs to be modified for the packet switching network. In this paper, it is recommended to add a merged state, besides the 3 states - null, colored and transparent - which are resulted from the behaviors of extend, rewind, stall, withdraw and merge events. The original colored thread algorithm is designed to generate a new thread and extend it to the downstream direction with unknown hop count when the thread has revisited the node that was visited. It also suggested rewinding the thread to the downstream direction by the source node, instead of rewinding it upstream direction by the revisited node. If a node received multiple threads which had a same forward equivalent class, then it checks first whether the hop counts are ascending or not. If it is in ascending order, then threads are merged. Otherwise the later thread is stalled until the former thread's color is to be changed to transparent or it is removed. This idea removes the effort of generating a new thread with unknown hop count.

  • 여행 정보 시스템(ATIS), 교통 관리 시스템 (ITS) 등 궤적 기반 서비스에서, 서비스 품질을 향상시키기 위해서는 주어진 궤적 질의에 대한 정확한 주행시간을 예측하는 것이 필수적이다. 이를 위한 대표적인 공간 데이터 분석 기법으로는 데이터 분류에서 높은 정확도를 보장하는 규칙 기반 분류화 기법이 존재한다. 그러나 기존 규칙 기반 분류화 기법은 단일 컴퓨터 환경만을 고려하기 때문에, 대용량 공간 데이터 처리에 적합하지 않은 문제점이 존재한다. 이를 해결하기 위해, 본 연구에서는 맵리듀스 환경에서 규칙 기반 분류화를 이용한 궤적 데이터 주행 시간 예측 알고리즘을 개발하고자 한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 첫째, 맵리듀스를 이용하여 대용량 공간 데이터를 병렬적으로 분석함으로써, 활용도 높은 궤적 데이터 규칙을 생성한다. 이를 통해 대용량 공간 데이터 기반의 규칙 생성 시간을 감소시킨다. 둘째, 그리드 구조 기반의 지도 데이터 분할을 통해, 사용자 질의처리 시 탐색 성능을 향상시킨다. 즉, 주행 시간 예측을 위한 규칙 그룹을 탐색 시 질의를 포함하는 그리드 셀만을 탐색하기 때문에, 질의처리 성능이 향상된다. 마지막으로 맵리듀스 구조에 적합한 질의처리 알고리즘을 설계하여, 효율적인 병렬 질의처리를 지원한다. 이를 위해 맵 함수에서는 선정된 그리드 셀에 대해, 질의에 포함된 도로 구간에서의 주행 시간을 병렬적으로 측정한다. 아울러 리듀스 함수에서는 출발 시간 및 구간별 주행 시간을 바탕으로 맵 함수의 결과를 병합함으로써, 최종 결과를 생성한다. 이를 통해 공간 빅데이터 분석을 통한 주행 시간 예측 기법의 처리 시간 및 결과 정확도를 향상시킨다.

  • The B2B electronic product commerce needs intermediary system to provide an integrated interface for the parts libraries of multiple suppliers. However, it is difficult to automatically integrate the parts libraries because they are heterogeneous. Existing ontology-based approaches show a limited functionality of automated integration of information because Dey can not prevent ontologies from being modeled in different ways, so that the inter-ontology mappings to resolve the heterogeneity become complicated and arbitrary. In order to overcome such problems this paper proposes an ontology modeling framework for parts libraries based on the Guarino's theory of upper ontology. The framework provides knowledge modeling primitives which have explicit formal meanings and modeling principles based on ontological natures. Using the framework, ontology developers can model the knowledge of parts libraries systematically and consistently, so that the resulting ontologies become comparable and uniform and the ontology merging algorithm for the automated information integration can be easily developed.

  • Most of supervised teaming algorithms could be applied after that continuous variables are transformed to categorical ones at the preprocessing stage in order to avoid the difficulty of processing continuous variables. This preprocessing stage is called global discretization, uses the class distribution list called bins. But, when data are large and the range of the variable to be discretized is very large, many sorting and merging should be performed to produce a single bin because most of global discretization methods need a single bin. Also, if new data are added, they have to perform discretization from scratch to construct categories influenced by the data because the existing methods perform discretization in batch mode. This paper proposes a method that extracts sample points and performs discretization from these sample points in order to solve these problems. Because the approach in this paper does not require merging for producing a single bin, it is efficient when large data are needed to be discretized. In this study, an experiment using real and synthetic datasets was made to compare the proposed method with an existing one.

  • This paper proposes a region-based segmentation algorithm fur extracting a video object by using the cost of potential of frame-difference energies. In the first step of a region-based segmentation using spatial intensity, each frame is segmented into a partition of homogeneous regions finely so that each region does not contain the contour of a video object. The fine partition is used as an initial partition for the second step of spatio-temporal segmentation. In spatio-temporal segmentation, the homogeneity cost for each pair of adjacent regions is computed which reflects the potential between the frame-difference energy on the common contour and the frame-difference energy of the lower potential region of the two. The pair of adjacent regions whose cost is minimal then is searched. The two regions of minimum cost ale merged, which result in updating the partition. The merging is recursively performed until only the contours remain which have Same difference energies of high potential. In the fecal step of post-processing, the video object is extracted removing the contours inside the object.
