This study evaluates the dynamic tensile behavior of HPFRCC according to compressive strength levels of 100, 140 and 180 MPa. Firstly, the compressive stress-strain relationship of 100, 140 and 180 MPa class HPFRCC was analyzed. As a result, the compressive strengths were 112, 150 and 202 MPa, respectively, and the elastic modulus increased with increasing compressive strength. The static tensile strengths of HPFRCC of 100, 140 and 180 MPa were 10.7, 11.5 and 16.5 MPa, and tensile strength also increased with increasing compressive strength. On the other hand, static tensile strength and energy absorption capacity at 100 and 140 MPa class HPFRCC showed no significant difference according to the compressive strength level. It was influenced by the specification of specimen and the arrangement of steel fiber. As a result of evaluating the dynamic impact tensile strength of HPFRCC, tensile strength and dynamic impact factor of all HPFRCCs tended to increase with increasing strain rate from 10-1/s to 150/s. In the same strain rate range, the DIF of the tensile strength was measured higher as the compressive strength of HPFRCC was lower. It is considered that HPFRCC of 100 MPa is the best in terms of efficiency. Therefore, it is advantageous to use HPFRCC with high compressive strength when a high level of tensile performance is required, and it is preferable to use HPFRCC close to the target compressive strength for more efficient approach at a high strain rate such as explosion.

In the case of the UHP (Ultra high performance) tire that the demand has increased rapidly, compared with the commonly used tire, severe deformation has been observed because of the low aspect ratio. When repeated deformations are applied to the sidewall rubber, accumulated fatigue damage may cause fatigue failure. Thus, the evaluation of the durability of the tire sidewall rubber has become a very important issue to prevent accidents that occur while the vehicle is running. However, the research and design criteria for the durability performance of the tire sidewall rubber hardly exist. In this study, we suggest a lifetime prediction formula using strain energy density obtained by performing tensile tests and fatigue tests on two different kinds of the tire sidewall compounds. Additionally, the applicability of our findings for low fuel consumption tires was reviewed by converting the fatigue life of the sidewall rubber into the expected mileage of the tire.
In this paper, a single lap shear test was performed using a glass fiber reinforced composite material (GFRC). Pencil lead drawn paper sensor (PLDPS) was applied for single lap shear test being performed. Bisphenol-A epoxy and amine hardener were used as adhesives combining with composite materials. To make a difference in adhesive properties, the adhesive was cured under different conditions. PLDPS was made of a 4B pencil on A4 paper. Because graphite in a pencil was an electrically conductive substance, electric resistance (ER) could be measured. A change in ER was observed by a position where a PLDPS was attached to single lap shear specimens. It was confirmed that the change in ER was different depending on two attached positions and was observed by lap shear strain as well. In case the lap shear strain was large, the change in ER of PLDPS was high. This was because the larger the extension of the adhesive part, the larger the degree of bending of the specimen and thus the larger the distance change between two electrodes.
Asphalt Plug Joint(APJ) is an buried expansion joint that enabling the smooth connection of expansion gap and road pavement by filling the gap with bituminous mixture of 20% bitumen and 80% aggregate by weight, so it secures evenness and expansion or contraction using the material's properties. Although APJ is designed to have a 6-7 year lifecycle, there are some cases where it is damaged within the first six months. This early damage cause traffic congestion due to frequent repair works, and social cost exceeding the installation cost of the joint. So, in this research, we have developed a new system of Buried Folding Lattice Joint(BFLJ) which can overcome the disadvantages of APJ, and have analyzed and compared it's performance with the conventional APJ through experiment with specimens. As a result of the experiment, APJ had crack formation on both ends of the gap plate, spreading to the surface of the expansion joint. With this result, we can conclude that the reason for early damage is the tension failure due to the concentration of strain in the asphalt mixture along the end of gap plate and the debonding along the joint section. In contrast, the newly developed BFLJ induced even transformation in the joint by applying moving stud and high performance material, and resolved APJ's disadvantage of strain concentration. Therefore, it could be seen that the newly developed BFLJ could overcome the disadvantages of APJ and prevent early damage.

Mechanical device using the load cell or strain gage sensor can be influenced by tempearute changes because temperature change can cause a shift in the load cell or straing gage output at zero loading. In this paper, micro cone penetrometers with 1~7mm in diameter, are developed by using an optical fiber sensor (FBG: Fiber Bragg Grating) to compensate the continous temperature change during cone penetration test. Note the temperature compensated method using optical fiber sensor which has hair-size in diameter, and is not affected by environmental conditions because the measured data is the wavelength shifting of the light instead of the intensity of the electric voltage. Temperature effect test shows that the output voltage of strain gage changes and increases with an increase in the temperature. A developed FBG cone penetrometer, however, achieves excellent temperature compensation during penetration, and produces continuous change of underground temperature. In addition, the temperature compensated FBG cone shows the excellent sensitivity and detects the interface of the layered soils with higher resolution. This study demonstrates that the fiber optic sensor renders the possibility of the ultra small size cone and the new fiber optic cone may produce more reliable temperature compensated tip resistance.

HPFRCC(High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composite) is a class of FRCCs(Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composites) that exhibit multiple cracking. Multiple cracking leads to improvement in properties such as ductility, toughness, fracture energy, strain hardening, strain capacity, and deformation capacity under tension, compression, and bending. These improved properties of HPFRCCs have triggered unique and versatile structural applications, including damage reduction, damage tolerance, energy absorption, crack distribution, deformation compatibility, and delamination resistance. These mechanical properties of HPFRCCs become different from the kinds and shapes of used fiber, and it is known that the effective size of fiber in macro crack is different from that in micro crack. This paper reports an experimental findings on the mechanical properties of HPFRCCs reinforced with the micro fiber(PP50, PVA100 and PVA200) and macro fiber(PVA660, SF500). Uniaxial compressive tests and three point bending tests are carried out in order to compare with the mechanical properties of HPFRCCs reinforced with micro fibers or hybrid fibers such as compressive strength, ultimate bending stress, toughness, deformation capacity and crack pattern under bending, etc.,
A modified removable appliance for molar distalization called C-activator was used in a 10-year old male patient with a Class II anterior deep bite malocclusion with upper arch discrepancy. The treatment plan involved correcting the Class ll relationship, distalizing both upper first molars, and regaining space for the erupting canines. The C-activator, which was used for 6 months, consisted of a labial framework formed from .036-in stainless steel wire and an acrylic monobloc. Both the closed helices of the labial framework were compressed for reactivation during the C-activator treatment period. C-activator mechanics simultaneously achieved distalization of the upper first molars into their proper positions and repositioning of the mandible. After 21 months of treatment, the correct oberbite and overjet was obtained and contributed to an Improvement in facial balance. The treatment results were stable 6 months after debonding. Fabrication and placement of the new appliance and clinical procedures are detailed, and the treatment sequence and results of this case are presented as follows.

This paper proposes a double frequency method using FTP(Fourier Transform Profilometry) in fringe projection techniques for 3D measurement systems. In fringe projection techniques, fringe pattern images are projected and captured, and then object is measured by analysing phase. PMP(Phase Measuring Profilometry) for analysing phase provides high-resolution and is robust to object's reflection and background intensities. However, the measurement range is narrow due to 2π ambiguity. In order to overcome this problem, a double frequency method is often used. This method can widen the range of measurement while maintaining the high-resolution, but the measurement time is taken about twice due to grab 2 times number of images. The proposed double frequency method using FTP requires an additional image for resolving 2π ambiguity. The proposed method effectively reduces the measurement time while maintaining the same accuracy.

Recently according to the decreasing of steel price and increasing of labor cost the various studies of steel structure and composite structure are proceeding. This study developed the new shape of high depth hybid forming composite beam and performed the bending test to evaluate the bending performance by creating 10 specimens. Bending test result showed that capacity of the beam was increased stably. The ratio of the nominal load to the maximum load($P_u/P_n$) is 1.19 and the deformation capacity(${\delta}_{0.8P_u}/{\delta}_y$) is 3.9~4.5. Also, it is possible to apply the existing evaluation equation(KBC 2009) of composite beam.
Performance degradation of concrete structures is generally caused by structural deteriorations, such as cracks. It may result in serious defects of concrete structures. Methods of damage detection are used a visual angle of human or non-destructive test, and they are using various sensors. Problems of crack damage detection are occurred to directions of cracks by using 1 axial type of accelerometer in concrete element. In addition, these sensors are not used to occurring fire in RC building. Thermocouple sensors are able to using measurement of temperature in fire, and then deformations of main element and structures are not used. In this study, fundamental studies for development of multiple function sensor using 3 axial type of accelerometer and electric resistance property of thermocouple sensors are discussed estimation to stability of structures when happened form active load or fire, and so on.
