Pressure fluctuation and characteristics of hydraulic jump downstream of a transversal structure for various Froude numbers (다양한 흐름조건에 따른 하천횡단구조물 하부의 도수특성 및 압력변동성 검토)

  • 최근 이상기후로 인한 국지성 호우의 발생빈도 및 강우강도의 증가는 하천횡단구조물의 안정성에 문제가 되고 있다. 하천 횡단구조물(보, 물받이공 등)의 파괴는 국부 세굴(bed scour), 파이핑(piping), 구조물 본체의 불안정성 등의 원인으로 발생되고 있으며, 이 중에서 구조물 본체의 불안정성은 도수(hydraulic jump)로 인한 압력변이도 주요 원인이 될 수 있다 (Bower and Toso, 1988; Kazemi, F. et al., 2016). 그러나, 현재 직접적인 파괴 원인인 세굴 등에 대한 연구에 비해 압력변이로 인한 구조물의 파괴원인을 분석하는 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 흐름조건을 발생시켜, 하천횡단구조물 주변의 도수특성 및 도수로 인한 압력변이에 대하여 수리실험 및 수치모의를 통하여 검토하고자 한다. 수리실험에 사용하는 수로는 길이 10 m, 폭 0.3 m, 높이 0.4 m이며 상류로부터 2.5 m 떨어진 곳에 보(weir)를 설치하였다. 실험조건은 다양한 흐름조건에 따른 도수 발생을 검토하고자 상하류 수위를 조절을 통해 Froude 수의 범위를 1 < Fr < 10로 설정하였다. 압력변이는 전압형 압력계(Model : UNIK 5000, 압력 측정 변위 : -2 ~ 5 kPa)를 사용하였으며, 보(weir) 하류단에서 2.5 cm 간격으로 천공하여 측정하였다. 또한 3차원 모형인 FLOW-3D 모형을 이용하여 실험수로를 재현하였으며, 도수 발생 위치, 도수 길이, 도수 발생 시 압력변이에 대하여 실험결과와 수치모의 결과를 비교하여 수치모형을 검증하였다. 최종적으로 Froude 수에 따른 도수특성(도수 발생위치, 도수 길이 등) 및 최대 압력변이를 무차원화 하여 나타내었다. 본 연구는 도수 발생 시 압력변이로 인한 구조물 파괴분석에 대한 기초가 되는 기본적인 연구이나, 향후에는 물받이공 길이, 두께 등 하천횡단 구조물 설계인자 도출에 선행연구로 발전할 수 있다고 판단된다.

Changes in Bronchoscopic Findings during Treatment-Course in Active Endobronchial Tuberculosis (활동성 기관지결핵에서 치료경과에 따른 기관지경소견의 변화)

  • Background: Endobronchial tuberculosis is classified into 7 subtypes as fibrostenotic type, edematous-hyperemic type, actively caseating type, tumorous type, ulcerative type, granular type and nonspecific bronchitic type by bronchoscopic features, and we make a prospective study to follow up how bronchoscopic findings change during treatment-course in each subtype of active endobronchial tuberculosis. Methods: We planned to do follow-up bronchoscopic examination every month until there was no significant change in endobronchial lesion, then every 3 months and at the end of the treatment in each patient with biopsy proven endobronchial tuberculosis from May, 1990 to August, 1993. Results: 1) This study included 66 cases, but bronchoscopic follow-up was completed as scheduled in 47 cases. 2) In actively caseating and edematous-hyperemic type, bronchostenosis occurred within 2 or 3 months of treatment in about 2/3 of total cases. 3) In fibrostenotic type, bronchostenosis did not improve in spite of the treatment. 4) In tumorous type, the changes in bronchoscopic findings were unpredictable because new lesions occured on other sites even 4 or 6 months after treatment in 2 cases and the size of initial mass increased 6 months after treatment in 1 case (among 7 cases). 5) Granular and nonspecific bronchitic type improved without significant sequelae within 2 or 3 months of treatment. Conclusion: It may be necessary to follow up the patient with bronchoscopy repeatedly 2 or 3 months after starting treatment in active endobronchial tuberculosis, and it is better to perform bronchoscopic examination at 6 months of treatment, especially in patients with tumorous type because there is possibility that new endobronchial lesion occurs. Aggressive therapeutic modalities such as stent-insertion, laser therapy or electrocautery should be considered to prevent bronchostenosis in cases with granulation tissue, fibrostenotic and tumorous types of endobronchial tuberculosis.

  • For searching the photosynthetic electron transport(PET) inhibitors, bio-rational screening system using thylakoid membranes extracted from wild and mutant cyanobacteria(Anacystis nidulans $R_2$) was developed. Generally, thylakoid membrane was more sensitive to the tested herbicides than the chloroplast from spinach in the Hill reaction. Higher resistant characteristics appeared in mutant D-5, Di-22 to diuron and mutant G-264 to atrazine as compared to wild type. To test the reaction of thylakoid membrane to herbicides, diuron and atrazine were applied simultaneously. Diuron and atrazine competed each other for binding with substituted amino acids, while diuron and dinoseb were non-competitive, and inhibiting activity was increased. Conclusively, bio-rational screening system using cyanobacteria was proved to be fast and efficient screening method for the development of PET inhibitors.

Distribution and Variation of Collected Local Lines of Italian Millet (Setaria italica. BEAUVOIS) in Korea and Their Ethnobotanical Relation to Adjacent Areas (한국 속 재래품종의 지리적 분포와 형질변이 및 주변지역과의 관련성에 관한 연구)

  • With the 91 lines of Italian millet collected throughout the whole country in Korea and the 238 varieties from several Asian countries, trial was carried out to elucidate its differentiation, dissemination and distribution, and the ethnobotanical relations to the adjacent area. Glutinous millets which consisted of 66% among the collected Korean lines were widely distributed throughout the whole country, but non-glutinous ones were mainly distributed in the mountainous regions and Jeju island. The variations in germinability at low temperature were recognized among lines, but seemed not to be closely related to their regional distribution. The collected lines with small grain size were distributed mainly in the mountainous regions of middle and northern part of Korea and larger ones in Jeonnam province and Jeju island. And some of them were larger in grain size as compared with that of Japanese and Republic of China varieties. Seed coat color of collected lines in Korea showed wide variations from yellow to gray, especially in Gyungbuk province. However, all lines from Chungnam, Jeonnam and Gyungnam province were yellow in seed coat color. All lines from Korean collection except two lines indicated negative(-) phenol reaction which is very similar to that of Japan and China, while these were quite different from the varieties of Republic of China, Philippines and India, of which 30-60% showed positive(+) phenol reaction. The pattern of the esterase isozyme m Korean lines was simillar to that of Japanese lines and this was quite different from that of Republic of China, Philippines and India. Variation of this trait was greater in Chinese and Korean lines.

  • The brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens, is among the most serious insect pests of rice. It is widely distributed in Asia, Australia and Pacific islands. An earlier mitochondrial DNA study revealed that there exist significant genetic differences between populations north and south of the Red River Delta region in Vietnam. However the mitochondrial DNA was not sufficiently variable to examine the sources of immigration. For a more detailed analysis of geographic population structure of N. lugens, we developed microsatellite markers. Thirty-seven putative microsatellite loci were isolated using a magnetic biotin method, and five primer pairs designed from the flanking regions of sequenced microsatellite clones were labeled with fluorescent. Of these five primer sets, two have proven to be useful across all the samples we used in this study. We used variation at these two microsatellite loci to test the hypothesis that N. lugens biotypes (1, 2, and 3) sampled from laboratory selection constituted distinct genetic units. Allele frequency differences among the three major biotype categories were not significantly different at one locus (27035). However, the other (7314) did show differences among the major three biotypes. The methods we describe here will be useful for studying population structure of crop pest and for tracking the patterns of migratory pest like the rice planthoppers.

  • 본 연구에서는 동적 수신호 패턴에 대한 효과적인 인식을 위하여, 특징추출 단계와 패턴 분류 단계의 두 모듈로 이루어지는 복합형 신경망 모델을 제안한다. 특징추출 모듈을 위하여 고유의 특징표현 기법과 3차원 수용영역 구조의 CNN 모델을 제안한다. 이는 3차원 형식의 데이터로 표현되는 수신호 패턴으로부터 특징점의 공간적 변이뿐만 아니라 시간적 변이에 강인한 특징추출 기능을 제공한다. 패턴 분류 모듈에서는 효율적인 학습과 인식 기능을 위하여 수정된 구조의 GFMM 모델을 제안한다. 또한 학습패턴의 빈도를 고려한 활성화 특성과 학습 방법을 정의함으로써 기존의 GFMM 모델이 갖는 단점인 학습결과가 학습순서에 종속되는 특성과 비정상적 패턴 및 노이즈 패턴에 민감한 현상을 개선한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 일상생활 중 지속적으로 심장 상태를 모니터링 할 수 있는 무구속 의자형 심탄도 측정시스템을 개발하였다. 또한 구현된 시스템에서 측정된 생체신호를 이용하여 주관적인 감정자극의 스트레스를 분석하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 수준을 분석하고자 하였다. 실험은 시스템에 착석하여 실시간으로 시청각 자극 실험을 수행하였고, 심박수와 심박변이도의 시간영역 및 주파수영역 파라미터를 확인하였다. 확인된 심박변이도의 파라미터는 시청각 도중 기술한 인간의 감정들을 체계화하여 2차원 공간에 여러 감정들의 관계를 나타낸 제임스 러셀(J. Russell)의 감정모델을 주관적인 감정 자극에 의한 스트레스 지표 나타내어 비교 분석하였다. 실험결과는 RMSSD, LF/HF 파라미터가 스트레스 수준 분류에 사용될 수 있는 잠재력을 가지고 있음을 증명한다.

Zoolan Gene Cloning of Zoogloea ramigera 115 (Zoogloea ramigera 115의 Zooglan Gene Cloning)

  • Two kinds of mutants were isolated to clone a cluster of genes essential for zooglan biosynthesis. Zoogloea ramigera 115 strains produce capsular polysaccharide. To achieve conjugation in strain 115 and to facilitate recovery of product, a capsule non-forming strain was isolated via successive centrifugation and screening. The other kind of mutants devoid of or producing altered exopolysaccharides were obtained using classical transposon(Tn5) technique and screened for altered colony morphology and celluflour binding properties. Complementation of these mutants was achieved with Z. ramigera 115 slime gene library constructed in a broad host range cosmid vector and helper plasmid by triparental conjugation.

  • Principal component analysis of the morphological characters was applied to ordinate and examine morphological variation of Enteromorpha linza due to differences in environmental factors. As results, the samples from exposed populations to wave action were characterized by having longer stipe and maximum length, and narrower maximum width than samples from sheltered populations. The results of multiple comparision in each character among populations provided further support for the hypothesized existence of exposed, moderate, and sheltered morphotypes.otypes.

An Optical Quenching and Efficiency of Laser for the Virtual Display System (허상 디스플레이에 적용되는 레이저 다이오드의 출력 효율과 파장 변이에 대한 연구)

  • This paper studies the high frequency PWM (pulse width modulation) driving technique to increase an optical efficiency and to prevent an optical color quenching of blue laser for head up display on vehicles using digital micro mirror device (DMD) panel and yellow phosphor wheel. The proposed approach adaptively drives the current pulse width modulated signals of high optical power of blue laser to increase the lifetime and to decrease the stem temperature of laser. This method stabilizes the temperature of laser according to the driving environment and the forward current capacity. By the proposed method, the brightness of blue laser is improved by about 37% compared to the continuous waveform current driving method.
