A study on the determination of gear ratios and shifting pattern of automatic transmission for increasing vehicle performance (동력성능 향상을 위한 차량용 자동 변속기의 최적 변속비 및 변속 패턴 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Performance of vehicles depends mainly on engine performance, transmission gear ration and shifting pattern. In this paper, determination method of gear ratios and shifting pattern for automatic transmission equipped vehicles has been proposed. Computer programs for gear ratio determination and shifting pattern decision using optimal design technique have been developed for the purpose of increasing vehicle acceleration performance. For preceding study, computer simulation of vehicle performance is carried out using numerical technique.

  • Most vehicles having automatic transmission system use fixed standard shift map to provide automatic transmission for driver. In this case, driver who operates vehicle may be complaint with the fixed transmission pattern being different from the driver's intention. In this paper, therefore, to infer the driver's intention module for learning the driver's intention with related input variables using soft computing method is proposed. After inference, the standard shift map will be shifted according to a certain parameter decided from the proposed module for providing proper shift pattern. The efficiency of the proposed module is evaluated by the data acquired from real time driving.

  • Recently, most vehicles has the Automatic transmission system as their transmission system. The automatic transmission system operates with fixed shift patterns. In the opposite of manual operation, it is easy and convenient for driving. Though these merit, the system can not evaluate the driver s intension because of usage of fixed shift pattern. To consider driver s intension, we must consider both the driving intensity of driver and the status of vehicle. In this paper, we developed flexible automatic transmission system by using the proposed moduled neural networks which can learn the status of th vehicle and driver s intensity. As a results, we compare the transmission system using fixed shift pattern and the proposed transmission system and show the good performance in the change of shift position.

  • An automatic transmission pattern with the fixed standard shift map can provide comfortable shift to driver. However it may be a complain to provide shift by the same shift pattern for driver because the inclination of a driver may be various. Therefore, in this paper, we design the decision module, which can decide the driving style using input to decide the inclination of the driver and driving manner. The goal of this paper is to calibrate the shift map according to the inclination of the driver using the decided driving manner from the proposed module. As a result, the proposed intelligent automatic transmission system can provide a suitable shift point and time to the driver. To verify the performance of the proposed system, the real data that is obtained from the road test will be used.

  • All vehicles need the good quality of riding. Especially shifting shock is very important in the evaluation of the riding. Shifting shock is caused by transmission operation that one part and other part of gem are contacting together. This shock affect the feeling of driving. It is clear from these results that the shifting shock is affected by clutch pressure, pressure mode, inertia etc.

  • 자동 변속기 차량은 여러 가지의 장점을 지니고 있으며, 쉬프트 맵의 특징이 수동 변속기 차량과는 달리 이미 규정된 패턴을 따른다 하지만 킥 다운, 킥 업, 리프트 풋 업 등의 현상이 어느 운전자에게나, 어떤 주행 상황에서나 일괄 적용되고 있기에 불만스러움을 느끼는 운전자가 있을 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 지능형 자동 변속 시스템의 변속 결과에 따른 운전자의 불만 정도를 고려하고 다음 변속에 반영하도록 고안한 만족도 보정 기법을 제안하고자 한다 만족도 평가는 변속이후 운전자의 조작을 관찰하며, 불만족 정도에 따라 최종 쉬프트 선도의 조정을 결정하도록 고안하였으며, 변속 시스템의 변속 결정과 운전자의 스로틀 및 브레이크 조작을 입력으로 한 신경 회로망을 구성하여 학습하였다

A Pilot Study on Installation Criteria of Speed Change Lanes according to the Implementation of Safety Speed "5030" in the Urban Area (도심내 안전속도 "5030"시행에 따른 변속차로 설치기준에 관한 기초연구)

  • The speed change lane is installed at the point where the roads are connected on the urban roads, reducing the relative speed to facilitate traffic communication. However, in the case of the speed limit of 30 km/h in accordance with the implementation of the safe speed "5030" in the city, the standard is ambiguous, and there are criticisms about the installation of the transmission lane. This study conducted a pilot study on the traffic patterns of the speed change lanes, focusing on the section where the safe speed "5030" policy was scheduled to be implemented after theoretical consideration of the speed change lanes. After on-site investigation, as a result of analyzing the traffic pattern according to the travel speed of the main road according to road conditions and traffic conditions, the effectiveness of the speed change lane according to the safety speed "5030" was analyzed. In this study, the installation criteria for speed change lane by speed were presented. The criteria is that "speed change lanes should not be installed when the speed limit is 30 km/h, and speed change lanes should be installed when the speed limit is 50 km/h." The criteria will be considered as a reference when establishing engineering standards for connection of other facilities in urban areas in the future. It is expected that unnecessary restrictions on individuals' exercise of private property rights will be minimized, smooth traffic flow and secure safety by the installation of speed change lanes and expansion of turning radius.

  • 자동 변속기 차량은 여러 가지의 장점을 지니고 있으며, 쉬프트 맵의 특징이 수동 변속기차량과는 달리 이미 규정된 패턴을 따른다. 하지만 킥 다운, 킥 업, 리프트 풋 업 등의 현상이 어느 운전자에게나, 어떤 추행 상황에서나 일괄 적용되고 있기에 불만스러움을 느끼는 운전자가 있을 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이런 일반적으로 정해진 쉬프트 맵을 운전자의 조작 정도와 차량의 상태를 종합적으로 고려하여 쉬프트 맵을 수정, 적용할 수 있도록 지능형 변속 시스템을 구현하였다. 변속 시스템의 학습 과정에서는 뛰어난 학습 능력을 지니고 있기 때문에 판단 및 추론이 요구되는 지능형 시스템의 학습 도구로 다양하게 적용되고 있는 소프트 컴퓨팅(Soft Computing) 기법을 이용하였으며, 각 학습 내용에 따라 필요 입력을 별도로 구성한 모듈 형태의 망구조를 지니고 있다. .

  • 기존의 엘리베이터 시스템은 모든 교통 상황에 대해서 고정된 속도 패턴을 사용함으로써 교통량 변화에 다양한 속도 패턴을 제공 할 수 없었다. 운송 속도와 승차감은 엘리베이터 속도 패턴을 결정하기 위한 두개의 중요한 요소이다. 기동과 정지 시에 변속 충격을 줄이기 위해서 가속과 감속 시간이 적절히 조정되어졌다. 운송능력을 향상시키기 위해서 교통량 변화에 맞추어 저크를 조정하였고 이와 같은 방법으로 6개의 속도 패턴 곡선과 엘리베이터의 속도 제어를 위해서 뉴로 퍼지 시스템을 구현하였다. 구현된 뉴로 퍼지 시스템은 2개의 입력변수와 1개의 출력을 가진 시스템이다. 전반부는 교통량의 변화를 나타내며 후반부는 입력에 대응되는 속도 패턴을 적용시켰다.

  • Wheel-loader is a construction vehicle for uploading soil or sand into truck and transportation of materials, which requires large driving power and high rotational speed. To improve the working efficiency, the operator has to shift gears and control levers for bucket & boom simultaneously. Therefore, the automatic transmission has been introduced to enhance operator's convenience and enable effective operation. To develop the automatic transmission for the wheel-loader, technologies such as gears and a clutch-pack design and shift algorithm are required for improvement of shift quality. In this paper, the shift algorithm for the wheel-loader was developed and its shift pattern was analyzed. As the shift control is affected by the pressure profile for the clutch control, the shift quality depending on the pressure profile has been evaluated using experiment and simulation model analysis.
