  • The goal of our research is to develop a smart context-aware guide system that provides a smart and personalized guide services based on implicit awareness of context. As a context-aware guide application, we have developed a location-aware smart bus guide system for Seoul based on PDA and GPS. It guides users to the nearby bus stops and provides users with information about the bus lines at the bus stops.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 사용자에 의한 정보를 이용하여 버스 정보 안내를 효율적으로 하는 시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 PDA를 사용하여 태깅 기술을 이용한 모바일 버스 안내 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 관광객들에게 현재 위치를 기반으로 하여 버스 정류장을 안내하고 해당 정류장에 사용자 생산 정보를 태그로 등록하며, 등록된 정보를 이용하여 사용자에게 목적지까지의 경로를 안내한다. 사업자의 자세한 정보 등록이 가능하며, 사용자에게는 등록 정보 검색 시 간단한 키워드 만으로 해당 목적지에 대한 정보 안내 및 경로를 검색할 수 있도록 한다.

A Study on Bus Arrival Information for BIS (버스도착시간 정보에 대한 연구)

  • BIS(Bus arrival Information System) is a system that informs Passengers waiting at bus stops of the bus arrival time of next buses. However, when operating this system, it is not exactly known what type of bus arrival information should be provided. The purpose of this paper is to develop a model of the optimal bus arrival time to be informed for BIS. Analyzing Efficiency in the Seoul's Urban Bus Industry Using Data Envelopment Analysis. Two basic types of bus arrival information can be considered. One is Bus Locations : Where next buses are located and under what situation they are, such as the next bus departed from the previous stop, The other is Expected Arrival Time. Time to the arrivals of next buses. Characteristics of these two types of bus arrival time information provided for passengers waiting at bus stops for BIS are examined. The waiting time of passengers at bus stops is derived as a function of the bus arrival time to be informed. Some basic principles about the optimal bus arrival time to be informed are found. Finally, a case study assuming several simplifications is performed. One of the key findings is that there exists optimal arrival time to be informed other than the average arrival time. The optimal arrival time to be informed should be closer to the average arrival time for small and very large standard deviations and be earlier for certain amounts of standard deviations.

  • The goal of our research is to develop more effective bus information system using user generated information and social tagging. In this research, we have developed a smartphone-based bus guide system using social tagging and awareness of location. It will guide users to the nearby bus stops and provides users with information about the bus lines at the bus stops. Information around bus-stops can also be registered as tags into the system by users and can be utilized for bus information service. Simple keyword search utilizing tagging information can provide users with bus information about destinations.

  • 최근 자동차 수의 급속한 증가와 대중 교통의 발달로 인하여 ITS(Intelligent Transportation System)과 같은 지리/교통 안내 시스템의 연구 개발이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 시스템의 중요한 기능 중의 하나로 대중 교통의 관리와 안내 서비스가 있다. 특히 우리나라의 경우 아직 많은 사람들이 대중 교통을 이용하고 있고, 대중 교통이 대도시 교통체증의 중요 해결책으로 인식되므로 이러한 기능이 더욱 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷을 통하여 접근할 수 있는 버스 노선 안내 서비스 시스템을 개발한 경험을 소개한다. 버스 노선 안내 서비스 시스템은 사용자가 접근하기 용이해야 하며 실용적인 서비스 결과를 제공할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 추후 개발되는 여러 ITS 구성 요소들과 유기적으로 결합할 수 있는 상호 운용성이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 분산 객체 미들웨어의 표준인 CORBA를 이용하여 인터넷을 통한 접근이 용이하고 상호 운용성이 뛰어난 시스템 구조를 제안하였다. 이 시스템의 구조와 스키마는 추후 다른 대중 교통 안내 서비스 시스템과의 연계 혹은 다른 ITS 구성 요소와의 연계에 쉽게 대응할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • This study is to improve the design of bus transfer information that can be substantially used. This study has been processed using the following steps. First, I tried to define the information design and way-finding information design. Secondly, I have researched several case studies, and considered solutions. Finally, I evaluated way-finding maps through pair-wise comparisons, and drew needs through an interview. As the result of this research, there were some problems in font size, improper space between letters and non-consistent information. To solve these problems, the information has to be clear using easy symbols to be well-recognized by citizens. Also, the font size needs to be decided by a calculation of minimum legible size of letters. Lastly, a value contrast between a background color and a letter color needs to be applied more than 70 percent for better visibility. The study is expected to be used as a reference which helps informational design to be developed.

  • BIS(Bus Information Systems) supplies the bus arrived time information for users in using BIT(Bus Information Terminal) installed on the bus stop. BIT is the device using peoples directly. So, BIT need a quick response when it flew. These are an important factor in the strategy of the BIS maintenance. BIT need a maintenance cost to operate smoothly. So, Suppose that commercial advertisement can be displayed on BIT screen in this study. And we researched an advertisement rates of the optimum level in using Contingent Valuation Method. In addition, we analyzed a characteristic of user's depending on each time using multinomial Logit Modeling method, and studied for BIT operation and ad. displaying strategy considered user's sex, ages and using times.

  • This paper introduces a system that assists the blind to move to their destination, and compares the performance of 3-types of deep learning network (DNN) used in the system. The system is made up with a smartphone application that finds route from current location to destination using GPS and navigation API and a bus station installation module that recognizes and informs the bus (type and number) being about the board at bus stop using 3-types of DNN and bus information API. To make the module recognize bus number to get on, We adopted faster-RCNN, YOLOv4, YOLOv5s and YOLOv5s showed best performance in accuracy and speed.
