Overflow Valve and Performance Evaluation System for Diesel Cars based on Spring Load (스프링하중을 고려한 디젤차량용 오버플로우 밸브 성능평가)

  • In this paper, we have estimated the performance of an overflow valve for EURO type CRDI(common rail direct injection) engine. In order to implement the overflow valve with friendly circumstance, it is necessity for considering spring load. Especially, the performance evaluation of diesel car with accuracy control will be considered a mileage improvement and circumstance regulation. In order to evaluate the performance of overflow valve, The leak test system checks the pressure, switching time and operating time under 3.0 bar below 100 cc, 3.3 bar among 150 cc and 200 cc, finally 4.0 bar upper 250 cc.

  • Electronic of military vehicle that had relied on pure machinery system is ongoing. A large part of electronic of small-sized military vehicle has been already commercialized, which will expand to large-sized military vehicle field. Design of solenoid valve for automatic transmission is significantly important for stable driving performance of military vehicle. This research aims to develop simulation method which is capable of predicting performance of solenoid valve quantitatively according to its variation of ATF temperature. The research has been conducted in line with Maxwell, a magnetic field analysis program, and AMESim, a hydraulic analysis program. After simulation, it turned out to have been very similar to the test result in temperature range which excludes high temperature (over $120^{\circ}C$) and extremely low temperature (below $-20^{\circ}C$).

  • This paper has been conducted to design for pressure regulation system. to simulate for performance of turbo pump unit using AMESim(Advanced Modeling Environment for Simulation of Engineering Systems). With optimized of system, pressure regulation system has been confirmed dynamic characteristics of transient and steady states range based on static modeling of open type turbo pump fed engine system. These results can be utilized to verify for performance test facility of propulsion control system for analysis on control valves, review of the fundamental principle on the control logic and certificating engine feeding system.

  • In an fuel injection type gasoline engine, atomization of fuel droplet and mixture formation process are very important to understand engine combustion efficiency, and also has influence directly on the decision of engine performance and pollutant emission. In this study, perforated throttle valve instead of solid type throttle valve was developed and equipped to an SPI engine to promote secondary atomization and good droplet-air mixture formation. From the engine performance lest. it was verified that the case of perforated valve kas more advantages in each experimental parameters such as in cylinder gas pressure, mass burnt ratio, fuel consumption rate, and pollutant emission characteristics than that of solid one equipped. No matter what the same perforated valve, there are some distinct results in engine performance characteristics according to the perforate ratio.

  • The effect of the upstream flow conditions on the disc stability of the swing check valves was investigated at various upstream flow disturbance sources and distances from the tested check valves. The experimental loop was designed and installed to measure the disc positions, disc back stop load, and differential pressure at flow velocities lot 3 inch and 6 inch swing check valves. The selected disturbance sources are elbow and globe valve. The effect of the disc fluctuation is different depending on the type of disturbance and the distance between the disturbance and the check valve. Disturbances generated by elbow and globe valve located upstream from check valve create greater and more violent disc motion than uniform flow.

  • Many LNG ships will be constructed in Korea and the demand of safety valves is increasing. The most important performance of the developed safety relief valves for LNG ship is flow capacity. Flow capacity tests for 8 sizes of developed safety valves were conducted in the high pressure gas flow standard system in KRISS. The initial spring force adjustment was important for setting pressure of the safety valve. The procedure of data reduction and evaluation of the safety valve performance are suggested. This procedure was approved by French Bureau Veritas and Lloyd's Register.

  • In order to ensure the safety, the performance evaluation of the safety-related components in a nuclear power plant such as air-operated valves. In this paper, the diagnostic system(MOVIDS $A^+$) for the performance of air-operated valves was developed. For this purpose, the characteristics of their operation and the methods of the diagnostic tests were reviewed. The setup and diagnostic functions of the system were mentioned. Its applicability was validated through the diagnostic tests of air-operated valves in nuclear power plants. This diagnostic system is now applied in nuclear power plants for performance tests.

대용량 피동형원자로의 안전계통 성능 분석

  • 피동형원자로 AP600을 참조발전소로하여 설정된 1000MWe급 대용량 피동형원자로의 계통개념에 대한 안전계통 성능 평가 및 코드의 적용성 평가를 목적으로 RELAP5/MOD3코드를 사용하여 대형냉각재상실사고를 모의 해석하였다. 피동형 안전계통으로 축압기, CMT IRWST를 모델하였으며 가압기에 연결된 1단계부터 3단계까지의 자동감압밸브계통을 모델링 하고 4단계 자동감압밸브계통은 각 루프의 고온관에 연결되어 있는 것으로 모델링 하였다. 피동형 안전계통의 모델이 향상된 RELAP5/MOD3.2와 그 이전의 코드인 RELAP5/MOD3.1의 냉각재상실사고 모의계산결과 원자로내의 압력변화, 노심냉각수 주입유량 및 핵연료 피복재 온도 거동이 거의 유사하게 나타났으며 1000MWe급 대용량 피동형원자로의 안전계통은 냉각재 상실사고시 충분한 노심냉각능력을 가지는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • Air-operated valve is one of principal valves that are used to control fluid flow in nuclear power plants. It is necessary to evaluate periodically the performance of the AOV(Air-Operated Valve) which is used for controlling flow and pressure in nuclear power plants. In this study, we developed the integrated program HAES including hardware system to evaluate the performance of AOV. HAES(HANVIT AOV Evaluation System) consists of many modules such as valve information, thrust and torque analysis, actuator analysis, weak analysis and margin analysis. We applied with the test valve and showed that results evaluated by HAES is similar to those offered in the plant.

A Study on the Cycle Analyzing and Intake Valve Control by the Miller Method with a High Expansion into Low-Speed Diesel Engine (저속 디젤기관에서 고팽창의 밀러방식에 의한 사이클 해석 및 흡기밸브제어에 대한 연구)

  • Recently, there are quite a lot of attention is drown on the researches related to of Miller method applied high expansion cycle. For this study, high expansion cycles are formed and analyzed with the base view point of thermodynamics, and the features of each factors are also investigated. As a result of analysis, the expansion-compression ratio is expected with a decrease of effective compression ratio as intake valve closing time retarded, however, the decrease of mean effective pressure and its output is accompanied with the counterflow of intake air. Accordingly, as the consequence of such failure, it is expected that an alternative is needed for the realization of high expansion cycles, and the improvement over thermal efficiency. To materialize such cycle, the control system to delay the closing time of intake valve was designed and VVT, the 3 S/B low speed diesel engine, is applied to evaluate the efficiency. The result of the trial shows that there was no significant errors.
