Modificaion and Performance Test for improving ability of Supersonic/Hypersonic Wind Tunnel(MAF) (초음속/극초음속 풍동(MAF)의 성능 향상을 위한 개조 및 검증)

  • Supersonic/Hypersonic wind tunnel is a facility which is intended to test and to observe the physical phenomena around a model by creating supersonic flow in the test section. In designing an airplane, the wind tunnel test is demanded to analyzing aerodynamic characteristics of the model without making a prototype. In this research, the model aerodynamic facility(MAF) is modified for the purpose of increasing running time and its functionality. New pneumatic valves for remote control was installed for safety requirement, and new air tanks was installed on MAF as well. A pipe system is also modified to use those new valves and tanks, and the ceiling and side glasses of the test section are switched to ones with the larger surface area. After the MAF modification, a test is performed at Mach 2, 3 and 4. In this test, shadow graph technique, one of the flow visualization methods, is used to visualize supersonic flow field. The pressure in the settling chamber and working section at Mach 2, 3 and 4 was measured in each case. As a result, the possible model size and running time are obtained.

  • The system analysis and design program of the liquid rocket engine has been developed for preliminary conceptual design process. The program consists of modular programs analyzing the main thruster, the gas-generator, turbo-pumps, the turbine, pipes, valves and so on. Each module has been developed in order to estimate performance, weight, and shape parameters of the components. The results of them have been verified with experimental data or other programs.

  • In this paper, a new distributed intelligent control module based on LonWoks fieldbus for air handling unit(AHU) of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning(HVAC) is proposed to replace with a conventional direct digital control(DDC) system with 32 bit microprocessor. The proposed control architecture has a excellent features such as highly compact and flexible function design, a low priced smart front-end and reliable performance with various functions. This also addresses issues in control network configuration, logical design of field devices by S/W tool, Internet networking and electronic element installation. Experimental results for showing the system performance are also included in this paper.

  • For pneumatic system control, we need a data transmission system with high speed and high reliability or information interchange between main computer and solenoid valves and I/O devices. This paper presents a set of design techniques for a data communication system that is mainly used for pneumatic system control. For this purpose, we first designed hardware modules for an interface between central control module and local node that handles the operation of solenoid valves. In addition we developed a communication protocol for construction of RS-485 based multidrop network, and this protocol is basically designed with a kind of polling technique. Finally we evaluated performance of the developed system. The field test results show that, even under high noise environment, the data transmission of 375Kbps rate is possible up to 1,000m without using repeater. In addition, the system developed in this research is proved to be used easily for extension of a communication network because of its module structure.

하나로 냉중성자원 진공계통의 운전 특성

  • 냉중성자원은 하나로 반사체탱크에 위치한 수직공에 설치되어 노심에서 발생하는 열중성자를 감속재인 액체수소층을 통과시켜 냉중성자를 생산하는 설비로 수소가를 충전하고 있는 수소계통이 있으며, 21K의 극저온 액체수소/기체수소 2상(ttwo-phase)을 유지하기 위해 외부에서 유입되는 열침입을 최소화하기 위해 진공계통이 설치되어 있다. 진공계통은 수조내기기 집합체(In-Pool Assembly : IPA)의 액체수소 열사이펀, 감속재 용기 등의 냉중성자원 극저온 부풀들의 단열을 위하여 진공용기 내부진공도를 공정진공도 이하로 유지하기 위한 계통으로 고진공펌프, 진공배기탱크 및 저진공펌프의 조합으로 두 개의 진공펌프시스템과 진공박스, 배기수집탱크 및 밸브박스를 포함한 연결배관으로 설계되었다. 저진공펌프를 이용하여 대기압에서 고진공펌프 작동압력까지 도달한 후 고진공펌프를 가동하여 공정진공도 이하의 진공도를 확보하고, 고진공펌프로부터 배기되는 배출가스는 고진공펌프 후단에 설치된 진공배기탱크에 포집되며, 필요 시 저진공펌프레 의하여 배기수집탱크로 배출된다. 진공펌프시스템은 진공용기 내부의 압력이 공정진동고 이하로 유지되도록 연속적으로 가동되어 진공단열이 가능하다. 본 논문은 감속재인 수소를 액화상태로 유지하며, 공정진공도 이하로 충분히 유지되어 운전되는 진공계통의 특성을 원자로 운전 주기별로 소개하고자 한다.

  • The fuel pressure regulator mounted on CNG vehicles is used to maintain a constant pressure in the fuel injection system. It needs precise fuel pressure control to obtain benefits of high efficiency and low emissions in CNG vehicles. In this study, a high pressure test rig for the performance evaluation of CNG regulators was introduced. Two different CNG regulators were tested and compared each other at various test conditions. Results showed that dynamic response and creep characteristics are directly effected by the valve assembly design. Gas temperature was dramatically dropped at hish supply pressure conditions, so that effective design for coolant bowl is needed to prevent icing problem.

  • Hybrid rockets have many advantages over solid and liquid rockets. Hybrid rockets put forth high $I_{sp}$ like liquid rockets in spite of simple structure and low cost. As oxidizer flow rate is increased, thrust of hybrid rocket is increased accordingly. In this study, lab-scale hybrid rocket is designed, fabricated and tested. This system consists of lab-scale hybrid rocket motor, ignition system, flow system and data aquisition system. In order to control oxidizer flow rate, we construct flow rate control system by using needle valve and stepping motor.

  • In this study, a BMW plant process control system model which produces BMW is suggested and the BMW plant process controller with the following functions is developed. The first function is to operate the electronic overload relays to stop the blower for a certain period of time and to re-operate it again when the blower is overloaded. The second function is to close the motor operated valve automatically in case of power failure to prevent the circulation from the guided tank to the compost throwing tank and to block leak from the compost throwing tank due to the failure of ball valve. The third function is to transfer produced BMW from the concentration tank to 4 storage tanks for automatic managing of the BMW output. A device to measure the signal of the BMW plant process controller and a test equipment are developed. The designed BMW plant process controller is checked to see if it operates correctly according to the design specifications. The sequence control method based on BMW plant process controller is developed at a low cost in this study, so it is expected to bring improvements in the stability and the efficiency of system and to cause reductions in the operation and the management costs in the future.

  • 세계 각 국에서는 선진국을 중심으로 기후변화와 치솟는 유가에 대응하기 위하여 다양한 에너지원의 확보를 위해 부단히 노력하고 있다. 특히, 신재생에너지원 중 에너지 지속성이 가장 우수한 연료전지의 경우 1kW급 건물용 연료전지시스템이 도시가스 인프라가 가장 우수한 한국 및 일본을 중심으로 상용화에 가장 근접해 있는 실정이다. 일본의 경우 가정용 연료전지시스템 '에너팜'의 일부 제품이 올해부터 200만엔대로 가격을 내려 보급되어질 예정이고, 아직은 경제성이 떨어지지만 연료전지 조기 상용화를 위해 시스템 가격저감을 통한 기술개발이 한창이다. 또한 700W급 고체산화물형 연료전지시스템을 세계에서 처음 시판 계획을 가지고 있다. 국내의 경우 2009년도부터 시작된 '그린홈 보급확대를 위한 건물용 연료전지 보조기기 가격저감 기술개발'연구를 통해 블로워, 밸브, 유량계 및 펌프 등의 보조기기의 단가를 낮추고자 기술개발에 박차를 가하고 있다. 이에 따른 연료전지 부품 가격저감 기술이 국내 건물용 연료전지 시장보급의 활력소가 되기를 기대한다. 본 연구에서는 건물용 연료전지의 보조기기인 블로워의 가격저감을 위한 연구의 일환으로 블로워의 안전성능 평가를 통한 보조기기의 가격저감 및 안전성을 확보하고자 한다. 1kW급 건물용 연료전지시스템의 여러 블로워 중 도시가스용 연료승압 블로워, 선택산화 공기 블로워, 버너 공기 블로워 및 캐소드 공기 블로워의 안전성능 평가를 수행하였고, 평가결과의 공유를 통하여 국내 블로워 제조사의 설계방향을 제시하고 연료전지시스템의 안전성을 확인하고자 한다. 특히, 내구성, 기밀, 가혹조건시험 및 소음, 진동, 습도, 온도와 같은 내주위환경시험 등의 평가결과 비교를 통하여, 연료전지 부품 인증기준을 재정립하여 연료전지 부품산업의 조기 활성화를 도모하고자 한다.

Active Control of a New Cargo Handling System Adapted for Time-Varying Tide (조수간만의 차를 고려한 새로운 하역 시스템의 능동 제어)

  • This paper resents a novel cargo system adapted for a sea port subjected to severe time-varying tide. The proposed system can perform loading or unloading by using a sort of hydraulic elevator associated with real-tim position control. As a preliminary phase, a small-sized model of the cargo system is designed and constructed. The model consists of three principal components ; container palette transfer(CPT) car, platform with lifting columns and cargo ship. The platform activated by the electro-rheological(ER) valve-cylinder is actively controlled to track the position of the cargo ship subjected to be varied due to the time-varying tide and wave motion. Following the derivation of the dynamic model for the platform and cargo ship motions, an appropriate control scheme incorporating time sequence and PID(proportional-integral-derivative) controller is formulated and implemented. Both the simulated and the measured control results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed cargo system.
