  • 엷은재첩 Corbicula papyracea (Heude)은 이치아강 (Heterodonta) 백합목 (Veneroida) 재첩과(Corbiculidae)의 패류로 모래가 많은 진흙 바닥에 서식한다. 소형종으로 옅은 황갈색 바탕에 녹색을 띠고 있다 각폭이 엷으며 성장맥이 나늘고 폭이 좁아 조밀하다. 패각의 내면은 보라색 또는 진한 보라색을 띠고 있다. 개체수가 많지 않다. 난태생을 하며, 전국적으로 분포한다 (권오길 외). (중략)

전시 동물(2)-동물과 식물의 분류

  • 지금까지 동물의 이름이 나올 때마다, 그 분류학상의 이름을 쓰기위해 다양한 검색을 시도했으나, 그러한 이름이 반드시 일치하지는 않았다. 다음호에 예정되어 있는 전시 동물에서는 우에노(상야) 동물원에서만 420종의 동물이 있으므로, 동물 분류에 관해서 좀 더 관심을 가져볼 필요가 있다. 또, 사료 원료가 되는 식물에 대해서도, 그 분류에 대해 기술 하고자 한다. 이러한 과정에서 우리가 알 수 있는 것은 현재, 동식물의 분류법은 확립된 것이 아니고, 계속 변화하고 있다는 것이다. 2005년 2월 12일 아사히(조일) 신문에, DNA로 조사한 백합과의 분류가 종래의 계통수와 크게 달라, 가까운 장래 교과서나 그림도감도 대폭적인 재검토가 강요받게 될 것 같다고 보도되었다. 그러한 이유로 지금까지, 그리고 앞으로도, 주로 학명만을 필요에 따라서 표기하기로 했으며, 그 이유를 기술 하고자 한다.

  • 우리나라 근해산 살조개, Notochione jedoensis (Liscke)는 백합과에 속하며, 우리나라 서남연안과 일본의 혹가이도, 중국의 산동 및 황해 등지의 조간대에서부터 수심 20m 까지의 모래 밭이나 작은 돌이 많은곳에 분포하며, 연안 어민들이 식용으로서의 가치가 높으나 어획되는 양도 많지 않고, 현재 양식도 실시되지 않고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 살조개의 어획량이나 자원의 변동, 생태 및 번식 등을 포함한 양식기술 개발에 요구되는 기초자료가 거의 없는 상태이며, 이에 따라 양식기술의 개발에도 많은 제약을 받고 있다.   • 조개류 발생배의 냉동보존은 백합, Meretrix lusoria(Chao et al., 1997), 지주담치 Mytilus edulis (Toledo et al., 1989), 참굴 Crassostrea gigas(Renard, 1991; McFadzen, 1992; Gwo, 1995; Naidenko, 1997; Chao et al., 1997)에서 꾸준히 연구되어 왔다. 특히 Crassostrea 속의 발생배에 대한 냉동보존 연구가 많이 이루어졌으며, 해동후 일정시간 배양하여 발생배의 생존율을 파악한 결과들이었다.   • 가무락조개, Cyclina sinensi(Gmelin)는 백합과에 속하는 식용 이매패로서 한국, 중국, 일본의 연안에 분포한다. 특히, 우리나라에서는 서ㆍ남해안 해역의 니질에 서식하며(Yoo, 1976), 지금까지 가무락조개에 관한 연구ㆍ조사는 일본 히로시마산 가무락조개의 초기발생(Haragaki, 1966)과 한국산 가무락조개의 인공산란유발ㆍ인공수정 및 성장(Choi, 1971; Choi and Song, 1973; Choi, 1975), 생식주기(Lee and Cho, 1985) 등이 정성분석으로 보고되어 있을 뿐 정량적 분석에 의한 정확한 산란기 등이 제대로 밝혀져 있지 않은 실정이다. Vegetation Types and Life-form Composition of Pinus densiflora Forests on the Ridge of the Baekdudaegan in South Korea (백두대간 마루금일대 소나무림의 식생형과 생활형 조성)

  • Pine (Pinus densiflora) forests of 58 sites on the ridge of the Baekdudaegan, South Korea were classified by applying the phytosociological method and TWINSPAN. The floristic composition and life-form characteristics of the vegetation types analyzed and documented. The vegetation types were classified into five groups including four groups of Carex humilis var nana type and one group of Abies koreana-Sasa borealis type. Compositae was the most diverse family (26 species), Liliaceae (21 species), Rosaceae (18 species) and Betulaceae (11 species) whereas 27 families were represented by only one species. Taxonomically, Compositae was the most diverse (17 genera), Liliaceae and Rosaceae(12 genera) whereas 41 families were represented by only one genus. The Fagaceae was the most important family in total coverage (19.0) and followed Pinaceae (16.7) and Ericaceae (15.1). Five families such as Compositae, Liliaceae, Rosaceae, Betulaceae, and Umbelliferae contributed little to total coverage, although represented by numerous species. In the correlation between species richness and life forms, the species richness was highly correlated with growth and disseminule forms. In general, the correlation coefficients between life forms represented lower values than those between species richness and life-forms.

Radial Variation of Sound Absorption Capability in the Cross Sectional Surface of Yellow Poplar Wood (백합나무 횡단면 흡음성능의 방사방향 변이)

  • Radial variation of sound absorption capability and air permeability of yellow poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) wood in cross sectional surface and effect of steam explosion treatment were estimated by the two microphone transfer function method and the capillary flow porometry, respectively. The sound absorption coefficients of steam explosion treated wood was higher than those of control wood and these values increased with frequency. Abundant and big vessel may behave as sound absorbing pore observed on the cross sectional surface of yellow poplar wood. The sound absorption coefficients and air permeability of sapwood were higher than those of heartwood for Liriodendron tulipifera.

  • To lily (Lilium longflorum cv. Georgia) pollen, impacts by some physical, chemical and biological factors were examined in respects of its growth and transient gene expression via agro-infiltration. Rolling movement in liquid medium or vacuum pressure during Agro-infiltration was regarded as a impact that should be minimized for normal pollen growth. Pollen growth was maintained well in relatively broad range of temperature (19 to 27$^{\circ}C$) or pH (5.0 to 8.0). Chemical factors such as cefotaxime (up to 300mg/L), acetosyringone (up to 800 $\mu$M) and syringealdehyde (up to 800 $\mu$M) did not show any harmful effects but kanamycin severely did even at concentration as low as 25mg/L in some cases. For GUS gene expression, acetosyringone at 200 to 400 $\mu$M slightly improved the efficiency while syringealdehyde did not. Brief agro-infiltration followed by 18 hr of co-incubation of pollen along with Agrobacterium was suggested as a condition basically required for the transient expression system using lily pollen regardless of the presence of acetosyringone.

  • This study was carried out to develop an in vitro chromosome doubling systems for the breeding of tetraploid lily cultivar. Different concentration (ppm) and treatment time (hour) of colchicine, oryzalin and caffeine were compared for the efficiency of bulb regeneration and tetraploidization. The occurrence of tetraploid plants by colchicine was the highest in the concentration of 1,000 ppm for three hours. In oryzalin treatment, the best combination was at 30 ppm for three hours. However, the effects of oryzalin treatments were similar between 10 ppm and 30 ppm concentrations. The survival rate was dramatically reduced in a high concentration of caffeine although some treatments had a higher tetraploid induction. As a consequence, reliable results for the tetraploid production were obtained in the treatments of 1,000 ppm colchicine, 3,000 ppm oryzalin both for three hours, and 9,000 ppm caffeine for nine hours.

The Withdrawal Loads on The Effect of Dried Wooden Dowel (나무못 유지력에 나무못의 건조가 미치는 영향)

  • This study was performed to determine the withdrawal loads and strengths on the effect of dried wooden dowel. The test block was manufactured from 15 mm thick domestic wood and particleboard. Dowels of 6, 8 and 10 mm in diameter are made of korean castanea, korean pine and tulip wood. Research reported here indicates that withdrawal loads increase, but withdrawal strengths decrease, as the dowel diameter increases. This study also indicates that withdrawal load and strength of dried wooden dowel showed over 10% increase compared to those of normal conditioned dowel. However, there was an exception for the case of korean pine test block with dried tulip wood dowel. Meanwhile, the dried wooden dowel withdrawal loads and strengths for particleboard test blocks show 6~14.4% and 6.2~18.2% increase, compared to those of normal conditioned dowel, respectively.
