Identification of LED Lights for the Attraction of Bemisia Tabaci and Effect of Host Plant in the Initial Periods (담배가루이 유인용 LED 선발과 기주식물이 초기 유인력에 미치는 영향)

  • Four LEDs (blue, green, red, and white light) were tested to identify the most attractive wave length to utilize as the forecasting tools for the B. tabaci in glass houses. Attractiveness was evaluated by the total number of the B. tabaci attached to a yellow sticky trap. In the condition of no host plant supplement, the attraction efficacy was ordered from high to low as blue light (107.3±2.5), white light (83.0±12.1), red light (58±21.8), and green light (39.7±8.1). In the supplement of the host plant, the attraction was observed in the order of blue light (52±17.4), red light (38.7±5.8), green light (12.7±1.5), and white light (11.7±5.0). In both experimental conditions, blue light showed the highest attraction. In terms of the host plant effect to LED attraction, it varied following as white light (85.9%), green light (68.1%), blue light (51.6%), and red light (33.3%). This result suggests that red light is the least affected by the host plant. In the evaluation of the relative control efficacy, it was determined following as red light (66.7%), blue light (48.5%), green light (31.9%) and white light (14.1%) (F3,8 = 14.7, P = 0.001). Taken together, blue light had a very high initial attraction, and red light was revealed low attraction effect by the supplement of the host plant. In field demonstration experiments, a high attractive efficacy was not observed due to low-temperature conditions, but similar higher attractive efficacy was observed in blue and red lights compared to the control. The commercialization of LEDs using red and blue in the future is expected to provide important information regarding B. tabaci population density forecast in glass house.

  • 고휘도 LED(light emitting diode) 빨강(R), 녹색(G), 파랑(B), 호박색(A), 백색(W) 등의 중요한 광학특성인 광속(luminous flux), 효율(luminous efficacy), 피크 파장(peak wavelength), 가중치 평균 파장(weighted average wavelength), 반치폭 (full width at ha1f maximum), 색도좌표(chromaticity coordinate), 주 파장(dominant wavelength), 자극순도 (excitation purity) 와 휘도순도(colorimetric purity)에 대해서 비교검토하였다. 시험결과로 제시된 LED의 기본적인 특성 데이터는 추후, 새로운 조명용 LED 램프나 등기구(luminaire)를 개발 및 특성연구에 많은 도움을 줄 것으로 사료된다.

  • 청색 발광 LEDs의 개발과 상용화 이후에 백색조명등의 응용 가능성으로 인하여 이에 대한 많은 연구가 최근에 계속되고 있다 하지만 GaN의 많은 광학적인 장점에도 불구하고 이러한 소자의 기판으로 사용되고 있는 sapphire의 열악한 열적 특성은 소자의 열화를 야기할 수 있으며 특히 고출력작동 시에 소자성능 저하의 원인이 될 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 GaN를 기본으로 하는 LED의 경우 이에 대한 정확한 열 측정과 고출력 작동 시의 열적 모델링은 칩과 패키징 단위에서 모두 중요한 연구분야가 되고 있다. 고출력 GaN LED에 대하여 신뢰성에 관한 몇 가지 보고가 있지만, 이러한 보고의 대부분은 패키징 된 램프에 대한 분석이며 정작 칩에 대한 근본적인 열 분석과 신뢰성에 대한 연구결과는 미미한 실정이다 따라서 본 연구에서는 GaN LED 칩에 대하여 직접적인 열 분석을 시도하였다

Evaluation of the Lighting Characteristics in High Power White LED Module with Cooling Condition (방열 조건에 따른 5W급 고출력 백색 LED 모듈의 광 특성 평가)

  • The performance and lighting characteristics of the LED depend on cooling condition because the power LED generates lots of heat. In this paper, the effect of the generated heat from power LED module on lighting characteristics and performance is measured and evaluated. For experiments, the transient temperature of a power LED module with cooling condition is measured. In addition, the temperature and lighting characteristics of the LED module are measured during the steady state. As a result, the cooling condition is less effective on the lighting characteristics of the LED module at rated current but the cooling condition extremely affects those of the LED module over the rated current. Because high temperature of the power LED module causes the low phosphor conversion, luminance efficiency becomes low and color temperature becomes high. When power LED module are driven over the rated condition, higher temperature is directly related to lighting characteristics and performance of the LED module rather than higher current.

  • Soybean oil was stored in polyethylene for 12 weeks at $20^{\circ}C$. The influence of LED (light emitting diode) irradiation on four different wavelengths and fluorescent light was investigated. The pattern changes of volatile components in soybean oil was analyzed by electronic nose based on mass spectrometer. The obtained data from electronic nose were analyzed by discrimination function analysis. Under fluorescent light, the discriminant function first score (DF1) was significantly moved from positive position to negative one after 4-12 weeks. It means that the volatile compounds related to quality of lipid. It was shown to increase slowly due to green light of LED treatment, while blue and white LED light was influenced significantly as well as fluorescent light irradiation. Selection of LED irradiation would provide to keep good quality of soybean oil under distribution chain system.

  • In this paper, as a study of the simple visible light communication(VLC) with LED light, the visible light communication system that are made up with the $3{\times}3$ white LED array for visible light transmission, various photodiodes for visible light reception, and a non-carrier NRZ-OOK modulation scheme is designed and implemented to have a 115.2 kbps data speed at 2.5 m distance between transmitter and receiver. For the performance analysis of the developed VLC system, the maximum distance between VLC transmitter and receiver on the conditions of various transmission speeds, the number of LED array, or the various kind of LED and photodiode is obtained, and various performances are analyzed by experiments.

  • Various colors of light emitting diodes(LED) and four-band white light sources are obtained using a violet LED and various phosphor films. $BaMg_2Al_{16}O_{27}:Eu\;(blue),\;SrGa_2S_4:Eu\;(green),\;and\;Eu(TTA)_3(PTA)$ (red) phosphors are dispersed in poly-vinyl-alcohol aqueous solutions, and phosphor films are prepared by coating the suspensions to PET film. The narrow band emission of $Eu(TTA)_3(PTA)$ phosphor has excellent red luminescent property for four-band white light excited by the violet LED.

  • We have investigated the optical and electrical properties of surface mounted white light emitting diode (LED) chips prepared by using yellow phosphors on the blue LED chip. The yellow phosphor mixed with transparent epoxy was coated on the prepared LED chip. The optimum mixing conditions with epoxy and yellow phosphor is obtained at the mixing ratio of epoxy:yellow phosphor = 97:3 wt%. The maximum luminance and light emitting efficiency are above $80,000cd/m^2$ and 23.2 lm/W, respectively, at the bias voltage of 2.9 V. There was no distinct change in the luminance strength with changing of the yellow phosphor ratios. The current of the white LED chip is about 30 mA at 2.9 V.

  • 백색 LED 램프를 제조하는 공정에서 램프간의 전기적 개방상태의 절연상태를 유지하기 위해 사파이어 기판 위에 성장된 GaN 계 반도체 에피박막층을 제거하기 위해 유도 결합형 플라즈마 식각 공정을 이용하였다. 4 미크론의 두께를 갖는 GaN 층을 식각하는데 있어 식각 방지 마스킹 물질로 포토레지스트, $SiO_2,\;Si_{3}N_4$$Al_{2}O_3$를 시험하였다. 동일한 전력 및 가스유량상태에서 $Al_{2}O_3$만 에피층을 보호할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
