DRAM Package Substrate Using Aluminum Anodization (알루미늄 양극산화를 사용한 DRAM 패키지 기판)

  • A new package substrate for dynamic random access memory(DRAM) devices has been developed using selective aluminum anodization. Unlike the conventional substrate structure commonly made by laminating epoxy-based core and copper clad, this substrate consists of bottom aluminum, middle anodic aluminum oxide and top copper. Anodization process on the aluminum substrate provides thick aluminum oxide used as a dielectric layer in the package substrate. Placing copper traces on the anodic aluminum oxide layer, the resulting two-layer metal structure is completed in the package substrate. Selective anodization process makes it possible to construct a fully filled via structure. Also, putting vias directly in the bonding pads and the ball pads in the substrate design, via in pad structure is applied in this work. These arrangement of via in pad and two-layer metal structure make routing easier and thus provide more design flexibility. In a substrate design, all signal lines are routed based on the transmission line scheme of finite-width coplanar waveguide or microstrip with a characteristic impedance of about $50{\Omega}$ for better signal transmission. The property and performance of anodic alumina based package substrate such as layer structure, design method, fabrication process and measurement characteristics are investigated in detail.

  • The importance of improving semiconductor fab layout has been increased with the necessity of a large-scale capital investment and the increase of manufacturing complexity of the system. For the present, most semiconductor fab takes the form of a bay type layout where the same types of machines has been laid at the same bay. The bay type layout has many disadvantages in respect of material flow control even though it has merits of flexibility. To overcome the drawbacks of the bay type layout, a new room type semiconductor layout which integrates bays without a center spine and maintains the flexibilities of the bay type has been presented and compared with existing layouts. The results of test show that the room type layout is superior to the existing layouts from standpoints of transportation number and time, foot-print, number of stocker being passed and material flow time.

  • A feasibility test was carried out for upcycling of waste jelly-filled communication cables together with the development of environmentally friendly processes and equipments. High pressure water injection is proved to be an exceptionally environmentally friendly and highly efficient mechanical process. A batch-type cable barking equipment is designed and built on the basis of computational fluid dynamics modelling. It is optimized in terms of energy consumption and productivity with very high copper recovery of 99.5%. Copper nano-powder is prepared by an electrical wire explosion in ethanol media in order to improve the value of final products, and the preliminary economical assessment is also conducted.

  • A shield connector is an automotive electrical component that is used to connect electrical wiring in a vehicle. This part is made by progressive pressing using a phosphor bronze material with high electrical conductivity. The shape of the product is not complicated, but plastic forming techniques are required, such as deep drawing and bending, as well as shearing techniques such as piercing and notching. The finite element method was used to model the process. The strip layout design stage of the progressive die makes it possible to examine the thickness change, the stability of the forming process, and the spring-back. As a result of this analysis, it is possible to predict the correction values for the tendency of cracks, wrinkles, and incomplete plastic deformation, and to identify possible problems in advance. As a countermeasure against the forming error caused by the drawing process analysis, the drawing shape was modified and applied in the process design. For effective material utilization, a 3D strip layout was designed using an optimized blank shape based on nesting. The results improve the crack stability and spring-back of shield connector products produced through progressive pressing.

Pretreatment of Wasted Corn Stalk from Gangwon Province for Bioethanol Production (강원지역 폐옥수수대로부터 바이오에탄올 생산을 위한 전처리 방법 개발)

  • The wasted corn stalk from Gangwon province is composed of 44.6 % glucan, 19.0 % xylan, 23.8 % lignin, 4.5 % ash and 8.1 % others. Statistical analysis, full factorial design, revealed that temperature was the most influential factor in the dilute sulfuric acid pretreatment and that the influence of temperature on xylose yield was 3.5 and 3.2 times higher than those of treatment time and acid concentration, respectively. Temperature was also the most influential factor for glucose yield in the pretreatment but it was less than 5 % throughout the pretreatment. Although minor sugar yield was observed when microwave or ultrasonication was solely introduced as a pretreatment method, the complex method incorporating microwave or ultrasonication into dilute sulfuric acid pretreatment enhanced sugar yield significantly. In particular, xylose yield was doubled when microwave and dilute sulfuric acid treatment was sequentially applied. The optimization of pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis as well as the investigation on the complex pretreatment in detail are left for further study.

  • In manufacturing productivity analysis, understanding the intricate interplay among factors like facility performance, layout design, and workforce allocation within the production line is imperative. This paper introduces a simulation-based methodology tailored to food manufacturing, progressively expanding scenarios to analyze production enhancement. The target system is a food processing plant, encompassing production processes, including warehousing, processing, subdivision, packaging, inspection, loading, and storage. First, we analyze the target system and design a simulation model according to the actual layout arrangement of equipment and workers. Then, we validate the developed model reflecting the real data obtained from the target system, such as the workers' working time and the equipment's processing time. The proposed model aims to identify optimal factor values for productivity gains through incremental scenario comparisons. To this end, three stages of simulation experiments were conducted by extending the equipment and worker models of the subdivision and packaging processes. The simulation experiments have shown that productivity depends on the placement of skilled workers and the performance of the packaging machine. The proposed method in this study will offer combinations of factors for the specific production requirements and support optimal decision-making in the real-world field.

Basic Design of Composite Wing Box for Light Aircraft (소형 항공기 복합재 주익 구조의 기본 설계)

  • In this study preliminary structural design has been performed to develop an all composite wing box for experimental aircraft(classified in FAR Part 21). Considerations on composite materials and their manufacturing process were taken into account throughout the design phase. Aerodynamic loads were estimated by using Shrenk method(NACA TM No 948) and FAR Part 23 Appendix A. The structural layout has been determined to carry effectively the critical loads and to maximize the benefit of composite structure. Maximum strain failure allowable and first ply failure criteria were applied for the sizing of major structural members. Finally, the designed composite wing box structure is presented in the form of drawings, which include material specifications, stacking sequences and joint design.

  • 본 연구는 조선 LNG선의 탱크를 제작하는 공장의 관리 및 운영을 지원하는 제조실행 시스템(MES : Manufacturing Execution Sys- tem)의 개발에 대한 내용이다. 본 연구대상 공장에는 가공과 조립라인이 있으며, 가공라인에서는 소재를 가공하고, 조립라인에서는 가공된 소재를 가공하고, 조립라인에서는 가공된 소재를 용접으로 최종 조립한다. 본 연구 대상 공장의 주요 관리 및 운영에 대한 관점은 장비의 고장 방지와 효율극대화, 납기 준수 및 최종 용접 후 결함 최소화 등이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공장을 체계적으로 관리 운영하기 위해 공정관리와 장비관리 기능을 통합한 제조실행 시스템을 개발하였다. 공정관리는 일정계획 수립, 관리에서부터 작업자 배치 및 입${\cdot}$출고 관리 등의 역할을 수행하고, 장비관리는 장비 모니터링, 장비와 작업 이력 데이터 추출 및 집계, 장비보전 관리, 장비별 작업지시 등의 역할을 수행한다. 본 연구의 개발 시스템은 MSSQL Sever 데이터베이스와 Visual Basic, C++ Builder로 개발되었다.

Development of Prototype Automatic Grafting System for Fruit-bearing Vegetables (박과 채소용 자동접목 시작기 개발)

  • 우리나라의 경우 각종 장해와 주년 수요의 증가에 따른 불시재배의 증가로 인하여 저온신장성, 병해저항성 등과 같이 작물의 내성증진을 목적으로 접목묘의 이용이 급속도로 신장되고 있다. 특시 연작장해가 심한 박과형 채소류는 대부분 접목재배가 필요한 실정이다. 그러나 국내의 경우, 접목작업은 거의 수작업으로 행해지며 세밀한 조작과 숙련성 그리고 많은 노력을 필요로 한다. 따라서, 접목 생산성을 높일 수 있는 저가의 자동화 시스템 개발이 요구된다. 다양한 접목법들 중 현재 농가에서 가장 광범위하게 이용되고 있는 호접은 삽접 및 절단접에 비하여 자동화가 어렵고 활착 후 절단작업이 부가적으로 필요하나 접목 후 순화공정이 간단하고 활착률이 높다. 본 논문에서는 호접과 삽접에 대하여 접목 후의 활착률 및 접목에 소요되는 작업시간을 비교하였고, 호접법에 의거하여 작업공정을 생력화한 육묘 자동접목 시작기를 개발하였다. 시작기는 농가조합 및 중규모 육묘장의 설비를 지향하여, 묘판 및 접목묘의 취급을 제외하고 1인 접목작업 형태의 자동화 시스템으로 개발하였다. 시작기는 크게 버퍼기능을 부착한 배치형 육묘장치부, 2세트에 공압 매니퓰레이터, 대목과 접수의 원할한 접목을 위해 설계한 특수 그리퍼, 각고 조절형 절단부, 진동형 클립공급부 그리고 자동 클립 장착장치로 구성하였다. 접목 작업시간은 대략 4ch 정도이나 작업시간의 조정이 가능하도록 하였다. 실험실에서 수행한 간이접목 시험 결과, 절단날이 대목과 접수의 접촉부위를 관통할 때 접촉면이 서로 어긋나는 경우가 발생하였으나 육묘들이 호접에 적정한 기하학적 물성 요건을 갖춘다면 80% 이상의 접목 육묘의 기하학적 물성에 따른 체계적인 접목시험이 필요하다.

A study on equating method based on regression analysis (회귀분석에 기초한 균등화 방법에 관한 연구)

  • Most of universities have carried out course evaluation to apply the performance appraisal for professor. But, course evaluation depends on characteristics of each class such as class size, type of lecture, evaluator's grade and so on. As the results, such characteristics of each class lead to serious bias which makes lecturers distrust the course evaluation results. Hence, we propose a equating method for the course evaluation by regression analysis which use stepwise variable selection. And we compare proposed method with the other method by Cho et al. (2009) with respect to efficiencies. Also we give the example to which the method is applied.
