Private Pension Dependency of Korean and U.S. Households (한국과 미국 가계의 사적연금자산 의존도)

  • This study analyzed private pension dependency of Korea and U.S. households using the most recent dataset of two countries. For this purpose, 2013 Korean Retirement and Income Study(KReIS) of national pension research institute in Korea and 2013 SCF(Survey of Consumer Finances) of FRB in U.S. were used. The private pension dependency was defined as the proportion of private pension wealth among total financial wealth in each household and tobit model was used to investigate determinants of private pension dependency of the two countries. After controlling for other factors, household income and net worth, age, educational attainment, and health status of householder were crucial determinants of private pension dependency for both countries. Householder's age, educational attainment, and health tend to increase the private pension dependency in Korea and U.S. However, household income and net worth affected the private pension dependency opposite direction. The private pension dependency increased with high level of income and net worth in Korea, while it decreased with high level of income and net worth in U.S. Results of this study provide useful implications for future pension system and policy in Korea.

Design of Polarization-Insensitive Directional Couplers and Multimode Interference Couplers Integrated with Bragg Grating Waveguide (Bragg 격자구조가 집적된 편광 무의존성 방향성 결합기와 다중모드 간섭 결합기의 설계)

  • This paper presents a rigorous comparison of the design characteristics of polarization-insensitive directional coupler (DC) and multimode interference (MMI) coupler based on rib type waveguides, by using longitudinal modal transmission-line theory (L-MTLT). It shows that the multimode mixing and interference property of MMI can be structurally designed through the continuous evolution of the two-mode coupling property of DC. It also compares and analyzes the coupling efficiency along with the coupling length and the wavelength between polarization-insensitive DC and MMI. From the design properties obtained, it demonstrates for the first time the integration of polarization-insensitive DC or MMI with a Bragg grating and evaluates precisely the filtering characteristics. The numerical results reveal that the DC, as long as it is designed to have the same coupling length for TE and TM modes, has better performance than the MMI in polarization-insensitive filtering behaviour. However, it shows that the MMI with much less coupling length than DC is preferred in the miniaturization of integrated devices.

  • In this study, Two dimensional spatial profile of electromagnetic field for capacitively coupled plasma source is calculated. Based on one dimensional fluid equation, spatial profile for the axial direction of electric field and conduction current density is firstly calculated. The two dimensional spatial profile for the electromagnetic field is calculated from solution of Maxwell equation that is expanded to power series for ${\omega}r/c$ into the radial direction.

  • 본 연구에서는 강건한 문맥의존 음향모델을 작성하기 위한 기초적인 연구로서 문맥환경과 상태수의 변화에 따른 음향모델의 성능을 고찰하고자 한다. 음성은 시간함수로 표현되며 음절, 단어, 연속음성을 발성할때 자음과 모음에 따라 발성시간에 차이가 있으며 음성인식의 최소 인식단위로 널리 사용되는 음소의 앞과 뒤에 오는 문맥환경에 따라 인식성능에 많은 차이를 보이고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시간의 변화(상태수의 변화)와 상태분할 과정에서 문맥환경의 변화를 고려하여 다양한 형태의 문맥의존 음향모델을 작성하였다. 모델학습은 음소결정트리 기반 SSS 알고리즘(Phonetic Decision Tree-based Successive State Splitting: PDT-555)을 이용하였다 PDT-SSS 알고리즘은 미지의 문맥정보를 해결하기 위해 문맥방향과 시간방향으로 목표 상태수에 도달할 때까지 상태분할을 수행하여 모델을 작성하는 방법이다. 본 연구에서 강건한 문맥의존 음향모델을 학습하기 위한 방법의 유효성을 확인하기 위해 국어공학센터의 452 단어를 대상으로 음소와 단어인식 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과, 음성의 시간변이에 따른 모델의 상태수와 각 음소의 문맥환경에 따라 인식성능의 변화를 고찰할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 향후 음성인식 시스템의 강건한 문맥의존 음향모델을 작성하는데 유효할 것으로 기대된다.

Temperature-Dependency of Tensile Properties of GFRP Composite for Wind Turbine Blades (풍력 발전 블레이드 복합재 GFRP의 인장 특성의 온도 의존성)

  • In this study, the temperature-dependency of the tensile properties of a glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) used in wind turbine blades was examined. The tensile strength, elastic modulus, and Poisson's ratio of the tensile specimen manufactured from uniaxial ($0^{\circ}$) and triaxial ($0/{\pm}45^{\circ}$) laminate composite plates were measured at four different testing temperatures-room temperature, $-30^{\circ}C$, $-50^{\circ}C$, and $60^{\circ}C$. It was found that the tensile strengths and elastic moduli of the uniaxial laminates were greater than those of the triaxial laminates over the testing temperature range. The tensile strength of the two laminates was significantly dependent on the testing temperature, while the dependency of the elastic modulus on the temperature was insignificant. Furthermore, it could be considered that the Poisson's ratio changed slightly with a change in the testing temperature.

  • The aim of this study is to search for a direction to reduce adolescents' mobile phone dependency. The fourth data for 4th graders who were 1,972 of 7th from the 2013 Korea Children & Youth Panel Survey were used. SPSS 21.0 was used. In addition, the mediating effects of ego-resiliency and gender-moderating effects between positive parenting attitude and mobile phone dependency were analyzed through descriptive statistics, data analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results found the followings: Positive parenting attitude increased ego-resiliency while lowering mobile phone dependency. Ego-resiliency had a negative influence on mobile phone dependency and mediating effects between the two variables. Gender had a moderating effect between two variables. Based on the above results, this study suggested a direction to cope with the problems which can result from the excessive use of mobile phone for both parents and their children.

Parenting Attitude and Over Dependence on Smart Phone Among Middle School Students: Mediating Effect of Basic Psychological Needs (부모 양육 태도가 중학생의 스마트폰 과의존에 미치는 영향: 기본심리 욕구의 매개효과)

  • This study was proposed to examine the mediating effect of basic psychological needs on how parenting attitude affect middle school students with over-dependence on smart phone. This study utilized 2017 survey research by National Information Society Agency (NIA), namely a long-term follow-up study of 901 people with over-dependence on internet and smart phone. This study showed two findings. First, over-dependence on smart phone had correlations with basic psychological needs- autonomy(r=-.22, p<.001) and competence(r=-.13, p<.001); with parenting attitude- positive parenting(r=-.21, p<.001) and negative parenting(r=.15, p<.001). Second, both parenting attitude and basic psychological needs had a causal relationship with over-dependence on smart phone. These results can provide a basis to reconsider social awareness on over-dependence on smart phone among middle school students. This study proposed few research directions for further study to prevent over-dependence on smart phone and to educate parents.

  • Bi-2223도체의 종자계 손실에 대하여 실험적으로 조사하였으며, Bi-2223도체의 종자계 손실은 주파수에는 의존하지 않으며, 이는 수직 수평방향의 자장에 대한 자화손실처럼 히스테리시스손실이 지배적임을 의미한다. 또한 측정된 자계 손실은 절충 본수에도 그다지 의존하지 않으며, 필라멘트들 사이가 완전히 비결합된 모델로부터 계산된 손실에 더 유사하고, 수평방향의 자장에 대한 자화손실의 약 1/5정도로 작으며, 따라서 종자계 손실은 전력기기에서 그다지 중요하지 않음을 알수 있었다.

A Theoretical Calculation for Angular Dependence of X-ray Beams on Extremity Phantom (말단팬텀에서 X-선 빔의 방향의존성에 관한 이론적 계산)

  • The ANSI N13.32 recommends that a study of the angular response of a dosimeter be carried out once, although no pass/fail criterion is given for angular response. Gamma dose equivalent conversion and angular dependence factors were calculated by using MCNP code for the case of ANSI N13.32 extremity phantoms(finger and arm) at the depth of $7mg/cm^2$. Those extremity dosimeters were assumed to be irradiated from both monoenergitic photons and ISO X-ray narrow beams. These calculated gamma dose equivalent conversion and angular dependence factors were compared to B. Grosswendt's result calculated by using X-ray beams. The result showed that the dose equivalent conversion factors of this study agreed well with that of B. Grosswendt for all energies within 2% except 7% in the case of the low energies. In the case of angular dependence factors comparison, they agreed within 3%. It was shown that angular dependence factors of the finger phantom decreased as the horizontal angle of the phantom increased for the ISO X-ray beams less than 60keV. For the higher energy X-ray beams range they decreased slightly around 40 degree, but then increased from this energy to 90 degree.

  • The angular dependence of the exchange bias($H_{ex}$) and coercivity($H_c$) in multilayer $[Pt/Co]_N-IrMn$ with applied measuring field rotated toward in-plane at angle $\theta$ from perpendicular-to-plane, has been measured. Multilayer films consisting of $Si/SiO_2/Ta(50)/Pt(4)/[Pt(15)/Co(t_{Co})]_N/IrMn(50)/Ta(50)(in\;{\AA})$ were prepared by magnetron sputtering under typical base pressure below $2{\times}10^{-8}$ Torr at room temperature. Magnetization measurements were performed on a vibrating sample magnetometer and extraordinary Hall voltage measurement systems after cooling from 550 K under a field of 2 kOe applied along the perpendicular to film direction. The hysteresis loop shifts from the origin not only along the field axis but also along the magnetization axis. $H_{ex}$ and $H_c$ show a $1/cos{\theta}$ and $1/|cos{\theta}|$ dependence on the angle($\theta$) between the applied measuring field and the perpendicular-film direction, respectively. This $1/cos{\theta}$ dependence can be accounted for by considering the angular dependence of strong out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy introduced during the field cooling.
