The object of this paper is to compare the accuracy and the characteristic of various methods of solving the geodetic inverse problem for the geodesic lines which be in the standard case and special cases(antipodal, near antipodal, equatorial, and near equatorial situation) on the WGS84 reference ellipsoid. For this, the various algorithms (classical and recent solutions) to deal with the geodetic inverse problem are examined, and are programmed in order to evaluate the calculation ability of each method for the precise geodesic determination. The main factors of geodetic inverse problem, the distance and the forward azimuths between two points on the sphere(or ellipsoid) are determined by the 18 kinds of methods for the geodetic inverse solutions. After then, the results from the 17 kinds of methods in the both standard and special cases are compared with those from the Karney method as a reference. When judging these comparison, in case of the standard geodesics whose length do not exceed 100km, all of the methods show the almost same ability to Karney method. Whereas to the geodesics is longer than 4,000km, only two methods (Vincenty and Pittman) show the similar ability to the Karney method. In the cases of special geodesics, all methods except the Modified Vincenty method was not proper to solve the geodetic inverse problem through the comparison with Karney method. Therefore, it is needed to modify and compensate the algorithm of each methods by examining the various behaviors of geodesics on the special regions.

The positioning accuracy of GNSS surveys deteriorates due to various error factor, and many users sometimes ignore Phase Center Variation (PCV) of antennas. IGS provides an ANTEX file which contains PCV correction information to correct for PCVs. But it is not directly applicable because PCV correction information is provided at 5-degree intervals in the azimuth and elevation directions for the case of receiver antennas, and at 1-degree intervals in the nadir angle for the case of satellite antennas. So, we devised new and optimal ways of interpolating PCV in any desired line of sight to the GNSS satellite. We used spherical harmonics fitting methods in terms of the azimuth and elevation angle for interpolation, and found an optimal degree and order. It is shown that the best accuracy was obtained from the 8 by 8 spherical harmonics. If one requires lower burden on computing resources, the order and degree less than 8 could produce resonable accuracy except for 1st and 5th order.
The Ministry of National Defense is pushing for the Defense Acquisition Program to build strong defense capabilities, and it spends more than 10 trillion won annually on defense improvement. As the Defense Acquisition Program is directly related to the security of the nation as well as the lives and property of the people, it must be carried out very transparently and efficiently by experts. However, the excessive diversification of laws and regulations related to the Defense Acquisition Program has made it challenging for many working-level officials to carry out the Defense Acquisition Program smoothly. It is even known that many people realize that there are related regulations that they were unaware of until they push ahead with their work. In addition, the statutory statements related to the Defense Acquisition Program have the tendency to cause serious issues even if only a single expression is wrong within the sentence. Despite this, efforts to establish a sentence comparison system to correct this issue in real time have been minimal. Therefore, this paper tries to propose a "Comparison System between the Statement of Military Reports and Related Laws" implementation plan that uses the Siamese Network-based artificial neural network, a model in the field of natural language processing (NLP), to observe the similarity between sentences that are likely to appear in the Defense Acquisition Program related documents and those from related statutory provisions to determine and classify the risk of illegality and to make users aware of the consequences. Various artificial neural network models (Bi-LSTM, Self-Attention, D_Bi-LSTM) were studied using 3,442 pairs of "Original Sentence"(described in actual statutes) and "Edited Sentence"(edited sentences derived from "Original Sentence"). Among many Defense Acquisition Program related statutes, DEFENSE ACQUISITION PROGRAM ACT, ENFORCEMENT RULE OF THE DEFENSE ACQUISITION PROGRAM ACT, and ENFORCEMENT DECREE OF THE DEFENSE ACQUISITION PROGRAM ACT were selected. Furthermore, "Original Sentence" has the 83 provisions that actually appear in the Act. "Original Sentence" has the main 83 clauses most accessible to working-level officials in their work. "Edited Sentence" is comprised of 30 to 50 similar sentences that are likely to appear modified in the county report for each clause("Original Sentence"). During the creation of the edited sentences, the original sentences were modified using 12 certain rules, and these sentences were produced in proportion to the number of such rules, as it was the case for the original sentences. After conducting 1 : 1 sentence similarity performance evaluation experiments, it was possible to classify each "Edited Sentence" as legal or illegal with considerable accuracy. In addition, the "Edited Sentence" dataset used to train the neural network models contains a variety of actual statutory statements("Original Sentence"), which are characterized by the 12 rules. On the other hand, the models are not able to effectively classify other sentences, which appear in actual military reports, when only the "Original Sentence" and "Edited Sentence" dataset have been fed to them. The dataset is not ample enough for the model to recognize other incoming new sentences. Hence, the performance of the model was reassessed by writing an additional 120 new sentences that have better resemblance to those in the actual military report and still have association with the original sentences. Thereafter, we were able to check that the models' performances surpassed a certain level even when they were trained merely with "Original Sentence" and "Edited Sentence" data. If sufficient model learning is achieved through the improvement and expansion of the full set of learning data with the addition of the actual report appearance sentences, the models will be able to better classify other sentences coming from military reports as legal or illegal. Based on the experimental results, this study confirms the possibility and value of building "Real-Time Automated Comparison System Between Military Documents and Related Laws". The research conducted in this experiment can verify which specific clause, of several that appear in related law clause is most similar to the sentence that appears in the Defense Acquisition Program-related military reports. This helps determine whether the contents in the military report sentences are at the risk of illegality when they are compared with those in the law clauses.

The surveillance imaging equipments are functioning to observe the shape of the target in real time or to measure its location precisely. The roles of such equipments are becoming more important in today's weapon systems.The aforementioned imaging equipments can be classified based on the modes of operations such as fixed, installed on cars, or composite of those. Also, according to different concepts of sensor operation, a separate type uses independent housing for each sensor whereas in a composite type a set of multiple sensors are housed into a unit altogether. The sensors in general have magnetism, thereby introducing the possible negative effects, particularly in the composite types, in locating the reference position, which is carried out by the digital compass. The use of shielding material/housing could be an option but results in increased weight and reduced portability, restricting its use in composite type equipments. As such, the objective of this paper is to study on how to reduce such magnetic effects on the position location. To do so, in the absence of magnetic shielding, a variety of sensor positions were first modeled. By combing the result with the fact that the functions of PAN & Tilt are used in the equipments, a new position location algorithm is proposed. The use of the new algorithm can automate the position location process as compared to the manual process of the existing approach. In the algorithm developed, twelve locations are measured in connection with both the azimuth and elevation angles in comparison to the six locations alone around the azimuth angle. As a result, it turns out that the measurement range has been widened but the measurement time reduced. Also, note that the effect of errors the operators may make during measurement could be reduced.
In this paper we propose both the construction of image DB including information on the shooting location and direction of the captured outdoor images and the efficient retrieval method from the DB. Furthermore, for the automatic extraction of the location and direction information, we suggest to have the Digital Camera equipped with an expandable GPS modulo which has a function to calculate the location and direction and also to utilize GPS IFD tags in the EXIF. Then that will make it possible for us to retrieve quickly and precisely the target image with its geography and other objects on the ground included. In the previous retrieval method based only on the location, we eel some extra useless images due to the fact that all the images in the ROI(Region Of Interest) are searched on one condition, radius. However, with the proposed method in this paper, we can not only retrieve all the images selectively within the ROI but also achieve nearly 100% of precision when we search for the target images within DOI(Direction Of Interest) with another condition, direction, added. Applying this method to an image retrieval system, we can classify or retrieve natural images based on the location and direction information, which, in turn, will be vitally useful to diverse industrial fields such as disaster alarm system, fire and disaster prevention system, traffic information system, and so forth.

The ship-borne mobile down range telemetry antenna system having 4.6 m reflector antenna and 3-axis mounting structure at S-band requires the precise pointing accuracy at sea for the launch mission. Using the LEO satellites tracking, a method to determine and verify the antenna pointing and tracking performance, and to find the pointing bias which dominantly contributes to the pointing inaccuracy, is presented. Based upon the tests conducted on the Jeju sea and Pacific sea, the pointing bias is determined and its origin is also identified as the drift of the heading angle of the gyrocompass. The applied systematic correction taking into account the pointing bias, and the achieved improvement of the pointing accuracy are shown. Thanks to the correction, it is presented that this antenna tracked the launcher(KSLV-I) stably within the required pointing accuracy in the following KSLV-I third launch.
In this paper, we suggest a novel method of selecting visual information based on bottom-up visual attention of human. We propose a new model that improve accuracy of detecting attention region by using depth information in addition to low-level spatial features such as color, lightness, orientation, form and temporal feature such as motion. Motion is important cue when we derive temporal saliency. But noise obtained during the input and computation process deteriorates accuracy of temporal saliency Our system exploited the result of psychological studies in order to remove the noise from motion information. Although typical systems get problems in determining the saliency if several salient regions are partially occluded and/or have almost equal saliency, our system is able to separate the regions with high accuracy. Spatiotemporally separated prominent regions in the first stage are prioritized using depth value one by one in the second stage. Experiment result shows that our system can describe the salient regions with higher accuracy than the previous approaches do.
This paper focuses on GPS positioning accuracy variations according to locations of obstacles which surround GPS station. We derived precise coordinates of a GPS station which has a good visibility. Its observation data was rewritten by assuming signal blocking due to obstacle in the elevation angle of $10^{\circ}$ to $70^{\circ}$. We processed daily and hourly data for 10 days. In the results using daily data, RMSE was at 10mm level. And RMSE increased to 100mm levels in case of hourly data. As the elevation angle of obstacle increased, the horizontal and vertical RMSE increased, while the height estimates decreased. These results showed the higher the elevation angle of the obstacle increased the loss of large amounts of data by blocking satellite signals direction. In terms of the direction, when the blocking thing was located in the east or west, the coordinate has larger error in the east-west direction. And if signal was blocked at the south direction, the difference between the east-west error and the south-north position error was reduced.

Automatic control technologies for the marine pile driving provides accurate and rapid intruding into the planned positions of the pile with planned slope and direction, so that the construction maintenance and management are more efficient and the quality of the construction is more promising. Therefore, in this study, the application scheme of RTK GPS to the automatic control of the pile driving presented. It is expected that the presented scheme using the precise RTK GPS technique assures the efficient and economic 3D positioning accuracy for the precise marine construction management like the precise foundation of marine structures made of piles and the dredging work. It is found that the suggested scheme decrease 60% of the construction error compared with specifications reference because marine position accuracy is measured within 4cm in real time. In addition, the automatic position control system using GPS reduced the construction period and cost compared with existing methods about 30% and 35%, respectively.
In this study, we developed low cost INS and (D)GPS integration for continuous attitude and position and utilized it for the determination of exterior orientation parameters of image sensors which are equipped in 4S-Van. During initial alignment process, the heading information was extracted from twin GPS and fine alignment with Kalman filter was performed for the determination of roll and pitch. Simulation and van test were performed for the performance analysis. Based on simulation result, roll and pitch error is around 0.01-0.03 degrees and yaw error around 0.1 degrees. Based on van test, position error in linear road is around 10 cm and curve around 1 m. Using direct georeferencing method, the image sensor's orientation and position information can be acquired directly from (D)GPS/INS integration. 4S-Van achieved 3D spatial data using (D)GPS/INS and image data can be applied to the spatial data integration and application such as contemporary digital map update, road facility management and Video GIS DB.
