  • 고정된 위치를 중심으로 회전운동만 체험할 수 있는 3 자유도(DoF: Degrees of Freedom)를 넘어 위치를 변경하며 운동시차까지 포함된 6 자유도를 지원하는 몰입형 미디어에 대한 연구가 지속해서 진행되고 있다. 특히 부드러운 시점 변경을 제공하기 위해 특정 위치에서 샘플링 된 여러 개의 텍스쳐(또는 컬러) 및 깊이맵 영상(MVD: Multiview Video plus Depth)으로 구성된 다시점 영상을 통해 실제로 획득되지 않은 위치에서의 영상을 만들어내는 가상시점 합성(virtual view synthesis) 기술이 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 몰입형 미디어의 대표적인 데이터 형식인 다시점 영상을 실사 및 컴퓨터 그래픽스(CG: Computer Graphics) 환경에서 획득하는 방법에 관해 설명한다.

  • COVID-19로 급부상한 메타버스는 현실 세계의 활동을 가상세계로 확장하여 접근하는 방식을 제시함으로써, 서비스 사업자들에게 현실의 자산이나 가치를 가상 공간에서 새로운 자산과 가치로 재해석하여 새로운 창조적 생태계를 선도할 수 있는 자유도와 기회를 제공하고, 사용자들에게는 이를 통해 서비스의 접근성과 지속성 및 새로운 욕구를 충족할 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써 관심을 받게 되었다. 본 기고에서는 미래 메타버스 생태계의 새로운 기회를 제공할 DAO와 Web 3.0 관련 동향을 점검하고 탈중앙화의 미래 가능성과 문제점을 논한다.

  • Structure-from-Motion(SfM), Multi-view Stereo(MVS)이 이용되는 3D Reconstruction 과정에서 생성된 3D 포인트 클라우드는 RGB 영상에 기반하여 생성되므로 실제 객체 혹은 Scene 과 달리 point 와 point 간에 존재하는 빈 공간이 발생한다. 이를 개선하기 위하여 3D 포인트 클라우드를 이용하여 3D Mesh 를 복원하는 Mesh Reconstruction 과정을 거치게 된다. 본 논문에서는 Mesh Reconstruction 과정에서 자유공간 지지도에 기반해 수정한 가중치를 이용하는 효율적인 방법을 제안한다. 실험을 통하여 제안한 알고리즘을 이용한 복원 결과가 기존보다 개선됨을 보인다.

  • In this paper, we studied on the building models of open educational resource service system for download or upload their own educational content to be shared with the others without worrying about copyright infringement. We first analyzed the building models of the international OER(Open Educational Resource) service sites. And then, based on these results, we present the new service models suitable to be built the open educational resource service system in phases. The proposed models have the flexibility to accommodate the needs of users and have the advantage that the copyright-related issues of the existing 'National Educational Information Sharing System' could be solved step by step.

Comparative study on the Differences of Broadcast Journalists' Perception on Work Autonomy by Ownership and Revenue Structure (방송사의 소유와 재원 구조 차이에 따른 기자의 자율성 인식 비교 : 자원의존이론을 중심으로)

  • This study empirically examined the influence of ownership structure(public/private) and revenue structure (high dependency on advertisement/low dependency on advertisement) of broadcasting companies upon journalists' perceptions regarding the degree of freedom in news reporting, the factors that limit freedom of press, satisfaction with the work autunomy and satisfaction with company's policies of news reporting and editing in light of resource dependency theory. The result showed that both the ownership structure and revenue structure of broadcasting companies influenced the journalists' perception regarding the degree of freedom in news gathering and reporting. It was also confirmed that only the revenue structure affected the level of satisfaction with work autonomy while the degree of satisfaction with the company's policies on editing and programing was influenced by the ownership structure. The perception of the factors that limit the freedom of press was found to be influenced only by the ownership structure, as did the satisfaction with policies on editing and programing. These results are very significant as they show that the level of dependence on advertising revenue affects journalists' news reporting, and that journalists of public broadcasting companies are influenced by the dependence on government or other political powers as well as on advertising revenue.

  • Various opinions are expressed about the Internet Regulation. Some people argue that it is impossible to control because of the technical characteristics of Internet, while other people argue that it is easy to control. Recently in Korea, a move to reinforce the Internet Regulation through the extension of cyber real-name system is emerging, whereas the concern for its excessive infringement of the Freedom of Expression is increasing. This paper was intended to draw a reasonable direction for Internet Regulation in our society. And accordingly this paper tried to suggest a desirable direction of Internet Control in the future and to draw a criterion for domestic court judgement by analyzing cases of cyber defamation so far. The result of this study proposed that the Freedom for Expression be widely secured in the case of cyber defamation of criticism and political comments upon public officials and that the legitimacy and effectiveness of Internet Regulation be ensured. This result of study is expected to help establish the direction and principle of Internet Regulation in the future around Korea Communications Commission and Korea Communications Standards Commission.

Performance of Korean spontaneous speech recognizers based on an extended phone set derived from acoustic data (음향 데이터로부터 얻은 확장된 음소 단위를 이용한 한국어 자유발화 음성인식기의 성능)

  • We propose a method to improve the performance of spontaneous speech recognizers by extending their phone set using speech data. In the proposed method, we first extract variable-length phoneme-level segments from broadcast speech signals, and convert them to fixed-length latent vectors using an long short-term memory (LSTM) classifier. We then cluster acoustically similar latent vectors and build a new phone set by choosing the number of clusters with the lowest Davies-Bouldin index. We also update the lexicon of the speech recognizer by choosing the pronunciation sequence of each word with the highest conditional probability. In order to analyze the acoustic characteristics of the new phone set, we visualize its spectral patterns and segment duration. Through speech recognition experiments using a larger training data set than our own previous work, we confirm that the new phone set yields better performance than the conventional phoneme-based and grapheme-based units in both spontaneous speech recognition and read speech recognition.

A Free Agent Algorithm for Min-Cut Problem (최소절단 문제의 자유계약 알고리즘)

  • The min-cut problem that decides the maximum flow in a complex network flows from source(s) to sink(t) is known as a hard problem. The augmenting path algorithm divides into single path and decides the bottleneck point(edge), but the min-cut section to be decide additionally. This paper suggests O(n) time complexity heuristic greedy algorithm for the number of vertices n that applies free agent system in a pro-sports field. The free agent method assumes $N_G(S),N_G(T)$vertices among $v{\in}V{\backslash}\{s,t\}$to free agent players, and this players transfer into the team that suggest more annual income. As a result of various networks, this algorithm can be finds all of min-cut sections and min-cut value for whole cases.

Stereoscopic Free-viewpoint Tour-Into-Picture Generation from a Single Image (단안 영상의 입체 자유시점 Tour-Into-Picture)

  • The free viewpoint video delivers an active contents where users can see the images rendered from the viewpoints chosen by them. Its applications are found in broad areas, especially museum tour, entertainment and so forth. As a new free-viewpoint application, this paper presents a stereoscopic free-viewpoint TIP (Tour Into Picture) where users can navigate the inside of a single image controlling a virtual camera and utilizing depth data. Unlike conventional TIP methods providing 2D image or video, our proposed method can provide users with 3D stereoscopic and free-viewpoint contents. Navigating a picture with stereoscopic viewing can deliver more realistic and immersive perception. The method uses semi-automatic processing to make foreground mask, background image, and depth map. The second step is to navigate the single picture and to obtain rendered images by perspective projection. For the free-viewpoint viewing, a virtual camera whose operations include translation, rotation, look-around, and zooming is operated. In experiments, the proposed method was tested eth 'Danopungjun' that is one of famous paintings made in Chosun Dynasty. The free-viewpoint software is developed based on MFC Visual C++ and OpenGL libraries.

  • 근래 주목받는 키워드인 유비쿼터스(Ubiquitous), UCC(User Created Contents) 등은 기술적 발달과 함께한 사람들의 행동 양식 변화를 잘 반영하고 있다. 기술적인 측면에서 모바일 환경으로의 진화는 사람들에게 시공간적 제약을 없애주었으며, '호모 루덴스'로 표현된 유희적 인간의 개념은 현대인의 행동 양식을 잘 표현했다. 이중 지상파 이동 멀티미디어 방송(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting, DMB)은 방송에 있어서 시공간적 제약을 없앤 대표적인 사례이며, 'EDUTAINMENT(에듀테인먼트)'는 교육에 유희를 결합한 실례라고 하겠다. 특히 DMB는 정보와 유희의 욕구를 기본적으로 충족시킬 수 있는 방송이라는 매체를 이용한다는 점에서 에듀테인먼트의 기술적 기반이 될 수 있으며, 이를 통해 저 연령의 학습자에게 유희와 교육을 동시에 제공함으로써, 학습효과를 높일 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 DMB 시스템을 위한 유아 대상의 에듀테인먼트 어플리케이션을 설계하고, 구현한다. 이 어플리케이션을 위해 스토리텔링, 음악과 악기 선택 시스템, 타임라인 및 자유표면 게임 시스템 등 DMB 시스템에 적절하며, 에듀테인먼트의 조건을 충족하는 몇 가지 방법론을 제안하여 방송을 통해 콘텐츠와 대상자가 서로 상호작용 할 수 있도록 한다. 이를 위해서는 기존 방송의 음성, 영상 서비스를 넘어 상호작용의 필수적인 요소라고 할 수 있는 데이터 서비스를 요구하며, 이는 MPEG-4 Part 11: BIFS(Binary Format for Scenes) 기술을 기반으로 그 구현에는 VRML에 기초한 BT(BIFS Text) 언어를 사용한다.
