리카도의 "기계(機械)"에 대한 재해석(再解釋)

  • 본 연구에서는 리카도가 자신의 "정치경제학(政治經濟學)과 조세(租稅)의 원리(原理)"(이하에서는"원리(原理)"라고 하겠음) 3판에 새로이 도입한 "기계(機械)"의 내용을 중심으로 기술진보(技術進步)가 고용(雇傭)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 리카도는 당시 대부분의 주류 경제학자들과 마찬가지로 과학의 발전과 기술진보로 인한 새로운 기계(機械)의 도입은 근로자, 자본가 및 지주를 포함하는 모든 계급(階級)에게 유리한 결과를 가져오리라 생각하였다. 그러다가 그는 "원리(原理)" 3판을 작성하면서 이러한 자신의 견해가 잘못된 것임을 시인하고, 새로운 기계(機械)의 도입이 근로자(勤勞者)에게는 불리한 결과를 가져올 수 있음을 분석적인 방법으로 보여주었다. 그러나 이러한 리카도의 시도는 당시 및 후대의 경제학자들에 의해서도 지적되었듯이 부분적으로 논리적인 오류(誤謬)를 범하였다. 리카도의 논리적 오류를 수정하면서도 그의 문제의지(問題意識)을 부각시키기 위해 본 연구에서는 힉스에 의해 도입된 신(新)오스트리안(Neo-Austrian) 자본개념(資本槪念)과 이에 입각한 기술진보(技術進步)의 형태분류를 리카도의 분석틀에 적용시켰다. 그 결과 일정한 형태의 기술진보하에서는 수익성이 높은 기계(機械)가 도입될지라도 과도기적으로 고용(雇傭) 및 총생산물(總生産物)에 불리한 효과를 나타낼 수 있음을 보여주게 되었다. 그리고 과도기적으로 기계(機械)의 도입에 따른 기술적(技術的) 실업(失業)이 발생할 경우 그 기간에 영향(影響)을 주는 요인(要因)에 대해서도 살펴보고자 했다.

Development of Glass-Beads Rainbow Experimental Apparatus for Analyzing the Principle of Rainbow Formation (무지개 생성 원리 분석을 위한 유리구슬 무지개 실험장치 개발)

  • In this study, we developed an experimental apparatus to study the principle of rainbow formation. The rainbow is formed through the dispersion, reflection, and refraction of light on water droplets. However, the rainbow cannot be made from a single drop of water. Thus, we devised an apparatus to observe the principle behind the rainbow formation caused by light rays on many water drops. This we deemed would help students understand the formation of the rainbow. We used glass beads as water drops to reproduce the rainbow phenomena. We also materialized the rainbow by changing various variables such as the position of the observer and the height of the light source, etc.

  • During reformation of the world order in the 21st century, the terrorism has been showing up as a new value and rising up as core element of determining human being's quality of lives. The middle east's terrorism is leading the international terrorism and it is originated from the religious ideology which has formed for centuries and struggles for regional influence. This is the conflict aspect coming from the opposition of religious ideologies and cultural dislocations. It concludes as confrontation between the terrorism of Islam fundamentalism and western christianity that America is leading after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. There is little prospect for an improvement of their relationship. The Terrorism supported by government might be eradicated by America's drastic anti-terrorism policy. However, it will be serious and spread all over the world that the terrorist attacks against America and western countries is acted by militant warriors of Islamic fundamentalism, uniting Arab and Islamic peoples' emotions against America. Terrorism is urgent menace to Korea and it is needed to take measures to cope with it considering their religion and people throughly.

  • As the word 'creation and innovation' has been the keyword in success, there has been an increasing interest in TRIZ (Theory of inventive problem solving). So far, TRIZ has been applied to electronics and mechanics as the prime mover of product innovation. This study is to explore the applicability of TRIZ to the biotechnology sector, a future emerging technologies, especially to problem solving and innovative research and development. This study was focused on red ginseng processing. Problem causes and contradictions were identified with regard to processing-related problems, and 'the 40 principles of invention' were applied to problem solving. Steamed fresh ginseng is called 'Red ginseng'. Cracks in red ginseng cause the loss of active ingredients and also are not of merchantable quality. In the 40 principles of invention, applicable ones were finally selected through contradiction matrix and brainstorming, the tools of TRIZ. With experiments, effective methods were suggested to prevent red ginseng from cracking in a steaming process.

  • In case of estimating the shocking vibration during the blasting demolitions, the weight and falling height of the structure, that is a potential energy, had been considered. But, this study presented a new equation which used the impulse concerning a falling weight instead of potential energy as a method of predicting the shock vibration. In this experiment, the data of the impulse were compared with the data of the potential energy by performing the free-fall, and all data were comparatively analyzed by the regression analysis method. Also, the method of the superposition theory, which is calculated by the diminution ratio according to distance, the free-fall difference according to height, and the time giving the shock to the ground according to the breakdown pattern, was compared with the previous vibration data occurring from the blasting demolitions in the same conditions. As a result, this study suggests that the impulse and the method of superposition theory be applied as a method of predicting the shocking vibration. Therefore, these results could be expected to estimate the shocking vibration more accurately than the previous method.

  • For the design of landscape, quantitative research is very important data for the designer. In this regard, this study analyzed the rhythm of the wall of Oksan Seowon, which horizontally ascends the slope, as the principles of design. This resulted in the deduction of the numerical proportion and progression, which became design motifs and proposed a design method, which can be applied in landscape rhythm design. The Oksan Seowon is a very valuable cultural heritage, where a very meticulous design principles were found as a result of the analysis of the slope rhythm, for which the proportion and scale were employed. A principle of proportion was found, where an asymmetric balance was formed by weighting the lower part of the slope, in accordance with the degree of the slope. Also, The scale of the height of the wall was based on the human scale. The aesthetic rhythmic design progression was derived from the area and the horizontal line rhythm of the walls. Also, They found out the Fibonacci series and golden ratio. The fact that cultural heritage was analyzed of aesthetic design principles by the very systematic quantitative method is of great significance. Moreover, derived motifs proposed examples of an application of analyzed rhythm progression to the landscape rhythm design. This research will be able to function as the frame and data for the design method of the landscape rhythm.

  • Objective : This review aimed to provide information for clinical application by confirming the principles and characteristics of the tool through a review of tongue movement and measurement tools for patients with swallowing disorders. Results : We identified 15 tools used as tongue exercises and measurement tools in the field of dysphagia. According to principle, the tools were classified as either a bulb sensor, resistive sensor sheet, mouthpiece with sensor, or other techniques. The bulb sensor was easy to use but had limitations in fixing the position when measuring tongue pressure. The resistive sensor sheet could be measured at a more stable position than the bulb sensor. A mouthpiece with a sensor could be used in an individual's oral cavity such that the position was fixed when measuring the tongue pressure. Other techniques had the advantage of being wireless and capable of sensing light. Conclusion : Based on this literature review, it is necessary to facilitate the selection of the best tool for quantitative tongue measurement in dysphagia. The review can also be used to develop a Korean tongue movement tool model that can be used in hospitals and community centers.

  • This paper presents results from experimental analysis of a friction-driven wheel responsible for generating wheel squeal noise. Squeal noise generating mechanism has been examined under the laboratory condition by the model rig on a small scale. Creep characteristics and squeal noise were observed by changing the possible variables, such as relative velocities and friction coefficients in time- and frequency-domain.

Earth and Environmental Sciences with Synchrotron Radiation (방사광의 원리와 지구환경과학에의 응용)

  • This paper introduces the characteristics and generation of the synchrotron radiation (SR). SR has the very high spectral brilliance, broad spectral range, X-ray wavelength tunability, high degree of polarization and collimation, and pulsed time structure. Also describes the technologies to apply in the fields of geology and environmental sciences. These include X-ray tomography, XRF, EXAFS, XANES, DAC, IVP experiments. Further, nuclear power generation and nuclear waste disposal methods are mentioned relating to energy. Using these, analyses of the chemistry, crystal structure and chemical combining states of minerals and rocks can be carried out. Applications in the fields of the economic geology, paleontology and environmental sciences are open too. Informations of the Earth interior materials' behavior under high pressure-temperature can be acquired.

터빈계통의 축정렬 (I) : 원리와 방법

  • 축정렬이 불량한 경우 축진동이 과도하게 발생하여 출력이 감소하고 소음이 발생하며, 심한 경우 회전체의 파손과 같은 손실을 입을 수 있다. 특히 축 정렬불량으로 인한 진동은 교정이 안되는 것이 특징이므로 근본적으로 진동 을 해결하기 위해서는 축 정렬을 다시 시행해야 한다. 그러나 터빈은 다른 기계 구조물과 달리 분해 점검에 많은 시간과 경비가 요구되므로 축 정렬시 정확한 작업이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 터빈계통의 축정렬을 수행하는 절차 와 방법에 대해서 검토하였다. 이를 위해 축정렬이 입력데이터로 쓰일 수 있 는 상태측정방법중 커플링 원주와 커플링 면 측정방법이 설명되었으며, 측정 값으로부터 축정렬을 수행하기 위해, 베어링의 이동량 계산과정과 쉼 가감량 의 계산방법을 기술하였다. 축정렬의 원리와 방법의 적용과정을 실제로 알아 보기 위해 평택화력 1,2호기에 대한 축정렬이 수행되었다. 1,2호기는 고압터 빈, 2단계의 저압터빈 및 발전기로 구성되어 있는 다축 시스템으로서, 제작 사측에서 요구하는 정렬 기준값을 감안하여 축정렬에 필요한 베어링 조정량 을 계산하였다. 계산과정은 기준로터로 지정된 저압터빈에서부터 축정렬상태 도를 작성하여 가면서 단계적으로 설명되었으며, 최종적으로 쉼의 가감량까 지를 보여줌으로서 축정렬과정을 완료하였다.
