Several etching phenomena were observed and analyzed in diaphragm process performed on 4-inch (100) Si wafers for sensor application. In case of deep etching to above 300$\mu$m depth, the etch-defects appeared at etched surface could be classified into three categories such as hillocks, reaction products, and white residues. It was known that the hillock had a pyramidal shape or trapizoidal hexahedron structure depending on the density and size of the reaction products. The IR spectra showed that the white residue, which was due to the local over-saturation of Si dissolved in solution, was mostly Si-N-O compounds mixed with a small amount of H and C etc. Also, the difference in both the existence of etch-defects and etch rate distribution over a whole wafer was investigated when the etched surfaces were downward, upward horizontally and erective in etching solutions. The obtained data were analyzed through flow pattern in the etching bath. As the results, the downward and erective postures were favorable in the etch rate uniformity and the etch-defect removal, respectively.
Examined a practical use possibility of paper fly ash that is industrial by-product as a stabilization/hardening agent. Performed unconfined compression test, scanning electron microscopy and pH analysis etc. for 100% paper fly ash-soil mixtures and each paper fly ash-soil mixtures that add cement as the second addition and sulfate component of small quantity for strength promotion and so on. In all cases, strength of admixtures increased according as curing time and mixing ratio increases but almost strength is revealed at mixing early and expressed maximum strength increase efficiency at mixing ratio 9% with raw soil. Compare with the case that use paper fly ash only, in case of cement amount 10~30% was included in paper fly ash, strength of admixtures increases two times and 40% was included, that increases from five to eight times.

This study was conducted to determine the effect of different fiber content of rice on blood levels of glucose insulin and triglyceride in normal subject. Ilpum and Suwon 464, which have different fiber content were used for the test. Two types of rice containing 50 g of carbohydrate were pressure-cooked and fed to ten healthy male volunteers after an overnight fast. After a meal, the 60-min blood glucose levels of Suwon 464 and Ilpum were 90.3$\pm$4.8 mg/dL and 111.6$\pm$2.7 mg/dL, respectively (p<0.01). And the 120-min blood insulin levels of Suwon 464 and IlPum were 2.9$\pm$0.8 mg/dL and 7.7$\pm$1.6 mg/dL, respectively (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in triglyceride level between two rice varieties. The calculated glycemic index (GI) was 64.5% for Suwon 464, suggesting that Suwon 464 high in fiber can be useful in low-GI diets.

In this paper, it would be shown that individuals can have different responses to the same email based on their preferences through computing the distributions of user clusters' email responses from clustering results based on email users' preference information. This paper presents an approach that incorporates user preferences to construct an anti-spam mail system, which is different from the conventional content-based ones. We consider email category information derived from the email content as well as user preference information. We also build a user preference ontology to formally represent the important concepts and rules derived from a data mining process and then apply a rule optimization procedure to exclude unnecessary rules. Experimental results show that our user preference based system achieves good performance in terms of accuracy, the rules derived from the system and human comprehensibility.
This research describes how to predict a model of the tensile strain related to the fatigue cracking performance of several asphalt concrete structures through design of experiments(e.g., Response Surface Methodology) and harmony search(HS) algorithm. The axisymmetric analysis program of finite element method, which is the KICTPAVE, was used to determine the strain level at the interface layer between asphalt layer and lean concrete layer. Once the training database set of various strain levels was constructed under the several condition of layer stiffnesses and thicknesses in the asphalt concrete structures, the data set was trained through the HS algorithm in order to determine the regression coefficients defined based on a response surface methodology. Furthermore, the testing set, which was not used for the training procedure of HS algorithm, was also constructed in order to evaluate whether the regression coefficients of a prediction model can be appropriately applied for other cases in asphalt concrete structures.

Water treatment study employing plasma is thoroughly examined in the following paper. The research using water plasma torch showed superior results in terms of economical and energy efficiency due to the substantial reduction of electric power. A comparison of streamer and arc discharge phenomena taken place in water was put under close scrutiny. Dyeing wastewater exposed to the plasma treatment was sampled and analyzed for relative dissolved ozone concentration, hydrogen peroxide, as well as the color removal efficiency. It was found that streamer discharges is more effective than arc discharge in growth of $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$ by plasma chemical constituents, though plasma torch had small oxidation reagents selectivity. Thus, streamer discharges, due to the efficient plasma-chemical reactions environment, proved to be more efficient compare to the thermal arc plasma loading.
In order to detect pantothenic acid (PA), conditions for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were established. Anti-PA-BSA antibody was produced from rabbits immunized with PA-bovine serum albumin (BSA) conjugates which were prepared by the bromoacetyl chloride [Bc] method (PA-BSA[Bc]) and by the periodate oxidation [Po] method (PA-BSA[Po]). PA-BSA[Bc] and PA-BSA[Po] was used as a coating antigen for competitive indirect(ci)ELISA. The Anti-PA-BSA[Po] antibody on ciELISA showed no competitive reaction. The detection limit of PA by ciELISA using Anti-PA-BSA[Bc] antibody was 1 ppm. The Anti-PA-BSA[Bc] antibody showed little cross-reactivity to PA derivatives such as pantoyllactone, pantetheine, pantothenyl alcohol, and acetyl CoA. The detection limit of PA by microbiological assay (MBA) was 10 ppb. Assay recoveries of PA in egg, cow's liver, and lettuce by ciELISA were 109, 64, and 344%, respectively, comparing with the MBA results.
Kaolinite was synthesized from amorphous $SiO_2$ and $Al(OH)_3{\cdot}xH_{2}O$ as starting materials by hydrothermal reaction conducted at $250^{\circ}C$ and $30\;kg/cm^2$. The acidity of the solution was adjusted at pH 2. The synthesized kaolinite was characterized by XRD, IR, NMR, FE-SEM, TEM and EDS to clarify the formational process according to the reaction time from 2 to 36 hours. X-ray diffraction patterns showed after 2 h of reaction time, the starting material amorphous $Al(OH)_3{\cdot}xH_{2}O$ transformed to boehmite (AlOOH) and after the reaction time 5 h, the peaks of boehmite were observed to be absent thereby indicating the crystal structure is partially destructed. Kaolinite formation was identified in the product obtained after 10 h of reaction and the peak intensity of kaolinite increased further with reaction time. The results of TGA and DTA revealed that the principal feature of kaolinite trace are well resolved. TGA results showed 13 wt% amount of weight loss and DTA analysis showed that exothermic peak of boehmite observed at $258^{\circ}C$ was decreased gradually and after 10 h of reaction time, it was disappeared. After 5 h of the reaction time, the exothermicpeak of transformation to spinel phase was observed and the peak intensiy increased with reaction time. The results of FT-IR suggested a highly ordered kaolinite was obtained after 36 hours of reaction. It was identified by the characteristic hydroxide group bands positioned at 3,696, 3670, 3653 and $3620\;cm^{-1}$. The development of the hydroxyl stretching between 3696 and $3620\;cm^{-1}$, depends on the degree of order and crystalline perfection. TEM results showed that after 15 h reaction time, curved platy kaolinite was observed as growing of (001) plane and after 36 h, the morphology of synthetic kaolinite exhibited platy crystal with partial polygonal outlines.

Most countries including Korea and Indonesia have strong policy for implementing biofuels like biodiesel. Shortage of the oil feedstock is the main barrier for increasing the supply of biodiesel fuel. In this study, in order to improve the stability of feedstock supply and lower the biodiesel production cost, the feasibility of biodiesel production using two types of Indonesian tropical crop oils, pressed at different harvesting times, were investigated. R. Trisperma oils, a high productive non-edible feedstocks, were investigated to produce biodiesel by esterification and transesterification because of it's high impurity and free fatty acid contents. the kindly provided oils from Indonesia were required to perform the filtering and water removal process to increase the efficiency of the esterificaton and transesterification reactions. The esterification used heterogeneous acid catalyst, Amberlyst-15. Before the reaction, the acid value of two types oil were 41, 17 mg KOH/g respectively. After the pre-esterification reaction, the acid value of oils were 3.7, 1.8 mg KOH/g respectively, the conversions were about 90%. Free fatty acid content was reduced to below 2%. Afterwards, the transesterification was performed using KOH as the base catalyst for transesterification. The prepared biodiesel showed about 93% of FAME content, and the total glycerol content was 0.43%. It did not meet the quality specification(FAME 96.5% and Total glycerol 0.24%) since the tested oils were identified to have a uncommon fatty acid, generally not found in vegetable oils, ${\alpha}$-eleostearic acid with much contents of 10.7~33.4%. So, it is required to perform the further research on reaction optimization and product purification to meet the fuel quality standards. So if the biodiesel production technology using un-utilized non-edible feedstock oils is successfully developed, stable supply of the feedstock for biodiesel production may be possible in the future.
