피로파괴에 반사형 광탄성 실험법 응용 (Application of the Reflective Photoelastic Experimental Method to Fatigue Fracture)

  • The reflective photoelastic experiment can be used more effectively than the transparent type in industrial fields. Therefore the reflective photoelastic experimental hybrid method applied to the fatigue fracture problems is introduced in this research. It is verified that the reflective photoelastic experimental hybrid method is very useful on the determination of crack propagation velocity and stress intensity factor of the fatigue crack and on the separation of stress components in the vicinity of fatigue crack tip etc.

  • The reflection type photoelastic experiment can be used more effectively than the transparent type photoelastic experiment in industrial fields. However, the reflection type photoelastic experiment for orthotropic material has not been studied. Therefore, the reflection type photoelastic experimental hybrid method for the fracture mechanics of orthotropic material was developed in this research. Comparing the results obtained from this method with those from the hybrid method for isotropic material about the same isotropic specimen, the validity of this method was verified. And then, the reflection type photoelastic experiment for orthotropic material was applied to the orthotropic plates with a central crack of the various inclined angle. Using this hybrid method for the orthotropic material, it is able to obtain stress intensity factors and separate stress components at the vicinity of the crack-tip in orthotropic plates from only the isochromatic fringe patterns of isotropic coating material.

스트레인 게이지와 반사형 광탄성법을 이용한 굽힘을 받는 외팔보 시편 구멍 주위의 응력측정 (Stress Measurement around a Circular Role in a Cantilever Beam under Bending Moment Using Strain Gage and Reflective Photoelasticity)

  • 기계구조물 설계시 파손이나 갑작스런 붕괴를 방지하기 위하여 응력집중을 실험적으로 측정해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 중앙에 원형구멍이 있는 외팔보 시편의 응력집중계수를 스트레인 게이지와 광탄성법으로 측정하였다. 스트레인 게이지법에서는 구멍 주위에 3개의 스트레인 게이지를 부착하여 측정된 값으로부터 외삽법을 사용하여 구멍에 인접한 지점에서 최대 변형률을 추정하였다. 광탄성법에서는 두 가지 측정법, 즉 배비넷-솔레일 보상법과 위상이동법을 이용하여 응력분포를 측정하였다. 스트레인 게이지와 광탄성법에 의한 측정값들을 서로 실험오차 이내로 근접하였다.
