A Hydraulic Experiment Using Artificial Seaweed for Coastal Erosion Prevention (인공식생을 이용한 해빈침식방지에 관한 수리실험)

  • Two-dimensional hydraulic experiments were performed to assess the impact of artificial seaweed on wave energy attenuation, and coastal erosion prevention. In this experimental study, erosion geometry and wave reflection coefficients were determined for normal and stormy incident waves, with and without artificial seaweed. The coastline of beaches without artificial vegetation was observed to retreat, and the longshore bar height increased in normal and stormy conditions. Through the introduction of artificial seaweed (of widths 0.8 m, and 1.6 m), the coastline was found to advance in the offshore direction due to material deposition. From these results, it is shown that artificial seaweed alters the cross-section of beaches, such that it is possible to prevent coastline erosion.

Fabrication of anti-reflection thin film by using sol-gel hybrid solution (Sol-gel 하이브리드 용액을 이용한 반사방지막 제조)

  • Anti-reflection (AR) thin films were fabricated on a glass substrate by using an ultrasonic spray. Glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) were used to synthesize a sol-gel hybrid coating solution. The moving speed of spray nozzle was changed from 15~25 mm/s to control the coating thickness of AR thin film. As the moving speed of spray nozzle increased, the thickness of AR thin film decreased from 138 nm to 86 nm. When the AR thin film was fabricated by nozzle moving speed of 20 mm/s, the refractive index and thickness of AR thin film was measured to be 1.31 and 104 nm, respectively. The average reflectance and transmittance of AR thin film coating glass was measured to be 0.75 % and 94 %, respectively into the visible light range of 380~780 nm.

  • The purpose of this paper is to review vestibulo-ocular reflex and vestibular rehabilitation for balace problem in elderly. Falling is a common problem associated with aging. Falling and the resulting consequences constitutes one of the most common and serious problems. Balance deficits are one of the top risk factors for falling. Three systems(visual, vestibular and somatosensory) need to be integrated and used to coordinate and control balance. During normal ambulation and head movement, the vestibulo-ocular reflex(VOR) stabilizes gaze, and helps to keep the image of the retina. There is a direct association between deficits in VOR and falls. Older adults have a decreased ability to enhance and suppress the VOR. Vestibular rehabilitation(VR) is an exercise-based group of approaches that began with the aim of central nervous system compensation. VR restores VOR gain and reduces error using repetitive movements of the head and eyes. Many researches showd balance and gait tests were superior in the VR group. It is considered this article helps to prevent elderly falling with vestibular rehabilitation.

An Antireflection and Antistatic Coatings for CRTs using PEDOT (PEDOT를 이용한 CRT용 반사방지 및 대전방지 코팅)

  • A method for designing antireflection (AR) and antistatic (AS) coating layer by the use of conducting polymer as an electrically conductive transparent layer is proposed. The conducting AR coating is composed of four-layer with alternating high and low refractive index layer: silicon dioxide (n=1.44) and titanium dioxide (n=2.02) prepared at low temperature by sol-gel method are used as the low and high refractive index layer, respectively. The poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) which has the surface resistivity of 10$^4$Ω/$\square$ is used as a conductive layer. Optical constant of each ARAS coating layers such as refractive index and optical thickness were measured by 7he spectroscopic ellipsometer and from the measured optical constants the spectral properties such as reflectance and transmittance were simulated in the risible region. The reflectance of ARAS films on glass substrate was below 1 %R and the transmittance was higher than 95 % in the visible wavelength (400-700 nm). The measured AR spectral properties was very similar to its simulated results.

Development of Automatic Shutdown and Recovery Device for Standby Power using Doppler Sensor (도플러 센서를 적용한 대기전력 자동 차단복구 장치)

  • In this paper, we have developed a device to reduce the standby power consumption that is unnecessarily consumed in unused electrical appliances. The Doppler sensor is used to automatically power off and power off the outlet depending on whether or not a person is present near the outlet. The Doppler sensor uses a coaxial cable trap to design a transmitting antenna and emits a 10 GHz band RF signal and receives a reflected wave signal whose wavelength is reflected from the target object to the receiver to detect an object and recognize human approach. It automatically cuts off and restores standby power to prevent unnecessary power consumption, saving energy and developing a standby power automatic shutdown and recovery device that can prevent the risk of large fires caused by leakage current.

  • In this paper, we present electromagnetic modeling to design unclonable PUFs with frequency-dependant materials corresponding to Debye dispersion. To demonstrate FDTD calculations consider that 1-D problem of pulsed plane wave traveling in free space normally incident on air-silicon material interface. The pulse traveling wave at a vacuum-medium interface were reflected, and transmitted wave were dissipated. As a result, 1-D PUF with Debye dispersion material structure can be applied and FDTD calculation for PUF modeling is a good approximation.

  • Diamond-like carbon (DLC)박막은 높은 경도, 화학적 안정성, 높은 광 투과성을 가지고 있어, 공구강, 광학렌즈 및 플라스틱의 보호 코팅을 위해 응용되어진다. 본 연구에는 DLC 박막은 Silicon을 기반으로 하는 태양전지 반사 반지막으로 응용을 위해, 13.56 MHz RF 플라즈마 화학기상 증착 (RF-PECVD)법을 통해 합성되었다. DLC 합성 시 RF power는 150 W, 메탄 (CH4)가스의 유량은 6%~10% 조절되었다. 합성되어진 DLC 박막의 광학적 특성은 UV spectrometry, Ellipsometry를 사용하여 분석되었고, 경도는 Nano-indenter를 사용하여 측정되었다. 측정 결과 투과도와 굴절률 등의 광학적 특성은 탄소 조성비가 6%정도에서 가장 좋은 결과 값을 얻었으나, 물리적 특성인 경도는 탄소 조성비가 높을수록 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, Si기판과의 접착력은 32N 이상의 높은 값을 나타내었다. 결과로써, DLC 박막은 합성시 적절한 탄소 조성비를 통해 silicon을 기반으로 하는 태양전지 반사방지막으로 응용할 수 있다.
