Quality Assurance on Dose Distribution of Ir-192 Line Source (Ir-192 선 선원의 선량분포에 관한 품질보증)

  • The propose of this study is a verification of the correct calculation of the dose around source and the prescription dose of Ir-192 source in the plato treatment planning system. The source and orthogonal coordinates for lateral direction and those for the anterior posterior direction were drawn on a A4 paper and then input into the system. The prescription dose was prescribed to two points with radius 1 cm in the direction of polar angle $90^{\circ} and $270^{\circ} from the center of the source. The doses of prescription point and dose points acquired from the treatment planning system were compared with those from manual calculation using the geometry function formalism derived by Paul King et al. In this analysis, the doses of prescription point were exactly consistent with each other and those of dose points were obtained within the error point of 1.85%. And the system of accuracy was evaluated within 2% of tolerance error. Therefore, this manual dose calculation used for the geometry function formalism is considered to be useful in clinics due to its convenience and high quality assurance.

  • The spindle is a very important part of machine tool. The evaluation of spindle motion is required for improving the performance of machine tools. The evaluation tools have been developed for precison spindle by the reversal technique, and 3D error map motion of spindle is proposed. This technique makes us understand the total movement of spindle more easily. The proposed technique has been successfully applied to practical machine tools, giving high potentials for the spindle performance measurement.

  • 동해 울릉분지에서 해양내부에 수온구조 파악을 위하여 수중 폭발성 음원인 SUS를 이용한 해양음향 토모그래피 실험을 1998년 8월에 실시하였다. 토모그래피 실험은 30, 60 km 반경으로 36개의 지점에서 항공기를 이용하여 SUS를 투하하고 관측해역 중앙에 위치한 선박에서 선배열수신기 (10개의 수신기 배열)로 수신하였다. 토모그래피 실험에 의한 역산 결과를 비교하기 위하여 AXBT를 이용한 수온관측이 동시에 수행되었다. AXBT 관측으로 울릉분지에서 자주 나타나는 난수성 소용돌이가 관측되었으며 이는 관측해역의 남동쪽에 위치하고 있으며 남서방향에서 북동방향으로 진행하는 형태를 보이고 있다. 음파의 도달시간 차이를 이용한 역산결과는 해양내부의 수온분포를 보여주는데 오차가 커서 새로운 해양음향 토모그래피 기법의 도입 필요성을 제시한다.

Magnetic analysis of a finite solenoid (유한 솔레노이드의 자속밀도 해석)

  • In this paper, the theoretical analysis for a solenoid with a finite length was verified by the finite element simulation. The solenoids are widely being used in the field of mechanical, industrial, medical industry due to their simple structure and fast responses. Solenoid actuators use an electromagnetic force. A magnetic field is formed around the solenoid coil when a current is applied. The magnetic force generated by the magnetic field enables an inside plunger to move linearly. The axial and radial magnetic fields (magnetic flux density, B) at a certain point were calculated from the Biot-Savart's law and compared with the simulation analysis from the ANSYS-Magnetostatic S/W. Comparison result, an error exists in the error range, and could therefore verify the accuracy.

  • Aids to Navigation is one of the most important facility for safety at sea. However, in terms of position there always exists discrepancy in inventory by media and/or organizational body who maintains the facility which may result in incredibility for navigator's position fixing or hazard avoidance. This paper suggests two major factors as the causes of the position error when they design, install and survey the aids to navigation. One is the function of direction of tide and water depth which makes swinging circle. The other is a variable value by time resulting from multiple coordination of satellites in contact. This paper aims to minimize inaccuracy by verifying its reason through numerical analysis over inherent position error.

  • Tube drawing process is more sensitive to the friction coefficient but it is a hard task to analyze it's disposition qualitatively. This paper aims to calculate the mean friction coefficient from author's direct equation which amended from general rod drawing process, and compare the result with SACHS' or WILLIAM'S. From this study, the thickness change was inspected in multi-pass drawing. The thickness affected with the mean friction coefficient and the thickness was deformed more thicker than initial thickness on the condition of good lubrication. For the sake of a good estimation of mean friction coefficient, the radial force of die must be considered when the drawing process has some more area reduction about more than 10 percents.

  • A rubber bushing connects the components of the vehicle each other and reduce the vibration transmitted to the chassis frame. A rubber bushing has the nonlinear characteristics for both the amplitude and the frequency and represents the hysteretic responses under the periodic excitation. In this paper, one-axis durability test is performed to describe the mechanical behavior of typical vehicle elastomeric components. The results of the tests are used to develop m empirical bushing model with an artificial neural network. The back propagation algerian is used to obtain the weighting factor of the neural network. A numerical example is carried out to verify the developed bushing model and the vehicle simulation is performed to show the fidelity of proposed model.

A Study on the Reactivity Effect due to Expansion of Diagrid and Pad (Diagram와 Pad의 팽창에 의한 반응도 효과에 대한 연구)

  • With the help of the nuclear computational system for a large LMFBR (KAERI-26 group cross section library/1DX/2DB), the reactivity coefficients for the diagrid expansion and the pad expansion at the beginning of cycle of the equilibrium core of SUPER-PHENIX I are calculated and reviewed. the core is described using R-Z geometry model, and a two-dimensional multigroup diffusion theory is used. For reference cases, reactivity calculations for radial and axial uniform expansion are performed, and also calculated are reactivity variations due to changes in material density and core volume. The reactivity coefficient for the diagrid expansion is calculated to be -0.553pcm/mil. The temperature coefficient corresponding to the above value is -1.0766pcm/$^{\circ}C$ and is well in accord with the French datum of -1.09pcm/$^{\circ}C$ within 1.2% difference. With the use of 4he calculational method for the diagrid expansion effect, reactivity calculations for the pad expansion bringing about nonuniform expansion are performed, which show that the calculational method is very useful in the analysis of the pad expansion effect. The reactivity coefficients for the pad expansion are calculated to be -0.2743 pcm/mil and -0.2786pcm1mi1 for the averaged expansion model and for the integrated pancake model, respectively. Under the assumption of the free expanding core the temperature reactivity coefficients for each model are obtained to be -0.5766pcm/$^{\circ}C$ and -0.5858pcm/$^{\circ}C$, both of which agree with the French datum of -0.574pcm/$^{\circ}C$ within 2% difference.

Analysis on the Stress of Hydraulic Cylinder for Large Vessel by Boundary Element Method (대형선박용 유압실린더에서 경제요소법을 이용한 응력해석)

  • It was used boundary element method(BEM) and analysed axisymmetric problem to solve hydraulic cylinder for large vessel acting uniform internal pressure(25N/m super(2)) within elastic limit. This paper was utilized the carbon steel tubes for machine structural purposed model, inner radius was 150mm and outer radius was 250mm, axial length was semi-infinite and the isoparametric element was used. The important results obtained in this study were summarized as follows. Radial, tangential and shearing stress occured the maximum stresses(48, -20 and 34MPa) at the inner radius and the minimum stresses(32, -4 and 18MPa) at the outer radius of the hydraulic cylinder for large vessel. But negative signs have meaning compressive stress and stress diminution ratio was about 0.15MPa/mm. The use of isoparametric element raised accuracy and the increment of input data lessened the error in internal point but computer run-time was increased. The double node was improved the internal solutions to settle discontinuity at corner and the double exponential formula lessened error of stress value at boundary neighborhood. And then coincidence between the analytical and exact results is found to be fairly good, showing that the proposed analytical by BEM is reliable.

Kinematic Correction and a Design for Velocity Trajectory to Reduce an Odometer Error of Wheeled-Mobile Robots (구륜 이동 로봇의 주행오차 감소를 위한 기구학적 보정과 속도궤적의 설계)

  • This paper presents methods for reducing odometer errors caused by kinematic imperfections in wheeled mobile robots. Wheel diameters and wheelbase are corrected by using encoders without landmarks. And a new velocity trajectory is proposed that compensates for an orientation error due to acceleration-resolution constraints on motor controllers. Based on this velocity trajectory, the wheel velocity of one out of two driven wheels may be changed by the traveled distance of the mobile robot. It is shown that a wheeled mobile robot can't move along a straight line exactly, even if kinematic correction are achieved perfectly, and this phenomenon is attributable to acceleration-resolution constraints on motor controllers. We experiment on a wheeled mobile robot with 2 d.o.f. and discuss the results.
