A Study on the Use Experience of Museum Interpretation System (박물관 해설 시스템의 사용체험에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, museums are attracting the attention of visitors and society. However, research on museum interpretation conducted at domestic and foreign is relatively limited. The plan design of the museum commentary system was mainly based on the perspective of the experts, and most of them do not reflect the desire of the visitors. This study focused on visitors' experience of using museum Interpretation system. Through analyzing the effect of the Interpretation system of the museum that the visitor feels, we examined whether the Interpretation system of the museum meets the cultural needs of the visitors and identified the problems and deficiencies in the system. After that, the problems were rearranged and suggested the main elements of the commentary system of the museum finally, so as to help improve the museum commentary system and the educational function.In the first part of the study, the four major explanatory methods existing in the museum were confirmed. After that, we conducted in - depth interviews on four types of commentary methods and collected existing problems and deficiencies. The results of the type analysis were grouped into 14 types and the questionnaire was used to conduct a general survey on 14 problems. In this study, the user 's discomfort and problems were identified in the museum Interpretation system, and based on this, five key elements necessary for the museum Interpretation system were derived. Among them, inhalation is the weakest element in the museum commentary system, and future research will be conducted on how to apply each factor.   • Due to the popularity of smart phones based on personal propensities and individual lifestyle changes customerized services is increasing interest in the individual. The system for personalized services make a difference in the public institutions, museum of science and history. In particular, museums and art galleries have a common motivation which is sightseeing. Museum for the history and science education a national purpose that is put, unlikely art gallery. Museum of science and History, unlike the theme parks have a combination of entertainment and education as a public institution is a large consensus. In order to achieve this objective, exhibits raise a sufficient commitment to and the exhibits should be described by age. Using augmented reality combined with effective entertainment and education measures, we propose the effective smart guide service strategies for museum.

  • In today's rapidly developing technology, the traditional exhibition format of museums can no longer meet social needs. By analyzing the advantages and key technologies of extended reality technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and hybrid reality, the museum XR exhibition interaction scheme is analyzed. Come to Discovery Museum. In this regard, this study first delves into the concept of XR technology, the concept and influencing factors of tourist experience, and the relationship between the application of XR technology and tourist experience through theoretical investigation. On this basis, representative paleontological museums in China and South Korea were selected, and the actual experience of visitors at the exhibition site and the application of XR technology were investigated through examples. Research has shown that the use of augmented reality technology can achieve seamless integration of virtual and real worlds in paleontological museums, extend viewing space, expand cultural heritage connotations, and revitalize cultural heritage. It provides visitors with a deeper interactive experience, enhances immersion and enriches display methods, making this type of museum more attractive. On this basis, XR technology helps museums achieve Digital transformation, and makes them have the advantages of sustainable development.

Study of Value Estimation of Environmental Education of Gyeongnam Forest Museum using CVM (CVM을 이용한 경상남도산림박물관의 환경교육 가치추정 연구)

  • Forest museums can be defined as facilities for the collection, exhibition, and education of the forest or forest related artifacts or data. This study was performed to measure the educational value of Gyeongnam state forest museum's forest and its environment. The tool used was the Contingent Valuation Methods (CVM) which is well known as a value estimation tool of environmental goods. The study for the value estimation is performed from April, 2014 to October of the same year through selection of the subject, decision of proposed price, and orientation of the survey staffs and total of 386 surveys were used in analysis. The value estimation tool used the DBDC logit model and the input parameters were number of visit (time), degree of environmental education (contri), the environment conservation effort of the respondent (execu), the education level of the respondent (edu), and income of the respondent (inc) and trimmed mean (WTPtruncated) was used. The estimated value of flora and environment education per each person per visit is 23,338 won. When applied to the average annual visitors deducted from 2010 to 2014, which is 430,000 per year, the environmental value that Gyeongnam state forest museum is providing to visitors each year is about 10 billion won. The result of this study is significant to propose the value of forest education and environment that the forest museum is offering to the visitors in the current currency. This is an evidence to directly determine the value of the forest museum and therefore proposing an opportunity change the recognition toward the forest and environment education.

The Effectiveness of a Museum Education Program : Enhancing Self-Esteem and Art Ability in Young Children (박물관 교육 프로그램이 유아의 자아존중감 및 미술능력 향상에 미치는 효과)

  • Twenty-five 6- and 7-year-old children participated in the museum education program held at two museums attached to Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul, Korea. Each museum was named in honor of a great artist; i.e. Moon, Shin and Jung, Youngyang and his/her artistic works. The main museum education activities included guided observation, discussion, and expressive activities using various materials. It consisted of eight sessions of about two hours each. Results showed that the self-esteem and artistic ability of children that participated in the museum education program increased more than the control group. These results affirmed the value of museum education for young children.

  • This research explores websites of comics museum provided by the Korean Manhwa Museum and the Kyoto International Manga Museum and is supposed to analyze the type of content and finding out features. Since both museums specialize in comics and provide diverse information related to comics and their museums, this research analyze them on the basis of three types of categories, which are public relations content, professional content, and exhibition/education content The result shows that both museums generally provide similar type of information and content even though there are small differences. Especially, they have common points in the way that both offer detailed information of museum facilities and about exhibition schedules and education programs. However, the goal they are aiming at shows a difference. Korea Manhwa Museum tries to have interactive communication with its site visitors using the bulletin board system and to update newly published comics and events frequently managing separate websites. Kyoto International Manga Museum seems to focus on promoting itself in order to have more museum visitors. It provides detailed information such as history of the museum building, the object of setting up the museum and so on. Also, it provides four different foreign language websites.
