Evaluation of SWMM Model Adjustment for Rubber-tired Tram Disaster Management System against the Snow-melt during the Winter (겨울철 융설을 대비한 바이모달 트램 재해관리 시스템의 SWMM 모형 적용성 평가)

  • Increasing urban sprawl and climate changes have been causing unexpected high-intensity rainfall events. Thus there are needs to enhance conventional disaster management system for comprehensive actions to secure safety. Therefore long-term and comprehensive flood management plans need to be well established. Recently torrential snowfall are occurring frequently, causing have snow traffic jams on the road. To secure safety and on-time operation of the Bi-modal tram system, well-structured disaster management system capable of analyzing the urban flash flooding and snow pack melt/freezing due to unexpected rainfall event and snowfall are needed. To secure safety of the Bi-modal tram system due to torrential snowfall, the snow melt simulation capability was investigated. The snow accumulation and snow melt were measured to validate the SWMM snow melt component. It showed that there was a good agreement between measured snow melt data and the simulated ones. Therefore, the Bi-modal tram disaster management system will be able to predict snow melt reasonably well to secure safety of the Bi-modal tram system during the winter. The Bi-modal tram disaster management system can be used to identify top priority area for snow removal within the tram route in case of torrential snowfall to secure on-time operation of the tram. Also it can be used for detour route in the tram networks based on the disaster management system predicted data.

  • This study of bimodal integration management system in conjunction with the tram and the tram cars bimodal integrated management system that occupies a part of the system to perform its role as a bimodal tram vehicle configuration, a device for the vehicle's infrastructure ryureul development and it is aimed to build on the vehicle.   • We studied the cost-volume supply characteristic of public transportation systems focused on Bi-modal Tram in the main cities to analyze the applicability and status for the new transit system Bi-modal Tram as public transportation system. The operation cost considering the characteristic of vehicle, facilities, operation and average cost for respective public transportation system and the time cost considering the travel and transfer time are defined to the social cost, and the cost-volume supply curve is based on this social cost. The cost-volume supply characteristic between public transportation modes in the city is determined on the basis of cost-volume supply curve. Through the comparison between cost-volume supply characteristic of main transportation systems, it is analyzed about the relation between public transportation systems in the city and the characteristic for proper service provision. The application of Bi-modal Tram in the city is concluded that it is effective to reduce the social cost on the existing public transportation system.

  • Bi-modal tram is a new conceptual transit mean for public transportation integrating thoroughfare and railroad vehicle's characteristics together. This paper describes about a software design which will be applied to an automatic driving system, which is called NCS (Navigation Control System), considering such multiplicity of mechanical characteristic. The NCS adopts propulsion, braking, and direction control functions for a tram and utilizes various sensors to fully take control over such functions. In this paper, we defined and analyzed the capabilities of the NCS. Those capabilities are designed with a UML 2.0 based object-oriented modeling technique. Moreover, to ensure the complete operation of such capabilities, a communication protocol (which is capable of controlling sensors, propulsion, brakes, and traveling directions) is designed here. Throughout the paper, firstly, all the NCS related functions are discussed in accordance with the equipments they are belonged to; secondly the UML modeling application techniques for the defined functions and protocols for the communications between equipments are introduced; and lastly a validation process for the design specifications is going to be discussed.

  • Since 2003, state transportation study core technology development is being promoted as part of the bimodal trams operating in accordance with the development of refractive vehicle as research infrastructure for building high-tech road transport system has been the research and development. Bimodal trams of refraction as the vehicle for him to introduce domestic first ever operation management system also developed in Korea according to case-based technology system, but most of the country, and, in this study, mainly those based on technology integration building management system and the bimodal trams of refraction of a vehicle operated was to highlight the features and benefits. Bimodal tram station itself is the way the exclusive properties and to operate the route with large transport capacity has the characteristics of the railway, but the only routes such as railroad lines is not of closed roads under certain circumstances, the flexibility to use has to be integrated operations management system of bimodal trams characteristics of the railroads and public transportation by combining the characteristics of a flexible, convenient and secure services to users with the aim of providing research and will denote the system developed. In this study, bimodal integration system required for the operation of the tram station around the wired and wireless network management center, applying the organic integration into one system so that you have to be centrally managed. In addition, the existing traffic management system operates as a unidirectional rather than monitoring all system-wide management via the interactive network through real-time requests and responses were configured to allow management and control. These findings of the existing traffic operation management system that you can jump step can be based on future unmanned vehicles and related systems through control of the operation management system will be offered as a basis.
