Numerical Modeling of Circulation in Lake Paldang (팔당호의 수치 순환모형)

  • The circulation of Lake Paldang is analysed numerically as an ultimate goal to develop a vehicle predicting the dispersion and concentration of pollutants and sediment flowed into the lake. In finite difference formulation of 2-D depth averaged governing equations. Abbott's 3-time level scheme is employed and for nonlinear terms time centering iteration technique in time and space is used. Model parameters for shear stresses and eddy diffusivities are determined through measured data in and near the lake. Predicted velocities for steady flow are shown to be close to the measured velocities and further improved by taking into account of wind effect. This indicates that the wind effect is needed for proper circulation analysis and it calls for the inclusion of the wind effect. Simulated results of unsteady flow caused by flood inflows and release through Paldang dam are found to characterize the flow features quite well as expected. This implies that the developed model can be used as a tool to analysing the circulation in the lake.

  • Based on the wind engineering, for the first time, a effects of wind in the Poongsoojiri is developed. The fluctuating wind velocity is assumed as time-dependent random process described by the time-independent random process with deterministic function during a short duration of time. The wind properties are represented by separation, turbulence, eddies, wind profiles, turbulence intensity and surface roughness. In this papers, there were compared the effects of wind engineering with the concepts of Poongsoojiri.

  • 고도측정정도에 대하여 실제운용상태의 측정출력데이터는 차량의 진속도에 대해 10% 이내로 생각하면 차이가 없다. 또한 환경조건중 바람의 영향은 전술한바와 같이 풍속 10m/s에서는 30km/h인 경우 0.17%, 100km/j인경우 0.32% 또한 풍속 25m/s에서는 30km/h인경우 0.7%, 100km/h인경우 1.1%정도하는 것이 이론적으로 구해진다. 한편 기온의 영향도 원리적으로 초음파의 전번속도가 대기온의 영향을 받아서 오차요인이 되기 때문에 초음파헤드내에 온도센서를 실구해서 대기온을 거상측정하고 이 값으로서 속도연산을 포상하는 수단을 취하고 있다.

Effect of Wind Velocity on Photosynthesis, Sap Flux, and Damage of Leaves in Apple Trees (풍속이 사과나무의 광합성 특성과 수액이동 및 엽손상에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out to determine the effects of wind speed on physiological responses in 'Fuji' apple (Malus pumila Miller). Two levels of wind blowing (3 and $5m{\cdot}s^{-1}$) were produced by large electric fans. Photosynthetic rate was reduced by one-way wind blowing treatment at $5m{\cdot}s^{-1}$, compared to the mild wind control, and this reduction was more obvious with stronger wind and increasing duration of wind application. The reduction in photosynthesis by the wind treatments was correlated with that in the proportion of opened stomates and stomatal conductance. The one-way wind treatment at $5m{\cdot}s^{-1}$ caused a leaf browning and leaf fall, and this negative effect became more serious with increasing time of exposure to the wind treatments. The sap flux through stem increased in all wind treatments compared to the natural mild wind.

  • This study analyzed stratification and destratification processes in the Kangjin Bay (KB), South Sea, Korea, driven by the Nam Gang Dam water discharge based on numerical modeling experiments. Model performances were evaluated in terms of skill scores for elevation, velocity, temperature and salinity, with scores mostly exceeding 90%. The models reproduced the tidal current, density-driven and wind-driven current. The stratification by fresh water input and destratification by the wind mixing was assessed in terms of the characteristic Richardson number (Ri) in that Ri increased from 0 to 7~20 during the Dam water discharge period, while vertical mixing and destratification followed by the typhoon passage showed Ri, 0 to 2.

  • 바람은 기상, 기후, 농림, 교통, 산업, 재난, 생활안전, 신재생 에너지 등 다양한 분야에서 널리 활용되는 요소 중 하나이다. 특히, 항공기 이착륙에서는 측풍의 형태가 항공기 안전에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 연구지역의 기 구축된 자동기상관측장비(AWS)의 정보를 연계 구축하여, 풍향과 풍속을 1분 단위의 변화량을 반영한 실시간 바람정보 표출시스템을 개발하였다. 이를 통해 기존 문자 및 이미지 형태의 정보에서 시각화된 실시간 바람지도 제공을 통해 공항 이착륙시 항공기 안전운항에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

  • 오존은 공간적.시간적 변동이 매우 큰 대기오염물질로 서울시의 27개 대기오염 자동측정망에서 실시간으로 측정.감시되고 있으며, 오존의 농도가 높아지는 여름철에는 오존경보제를 실시하고 있다. 특히 오존의 농도는 일사, 풍향, 풍속 등의 기상인자, $NO_x$, VOCs 등 전구물질의 농도, 그리고 지형에 따라서 영향을 받는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 서울지역에 대한 기하학적 축소모형을 제작하여 풍동내에서 풍향.풍속을 측정하여 지형에 따른 바람의 특성을 파악하였다. (중략)

바람의 강도에 따른 강하먼지와 불용성 성분의 조성 특성

  • 연안도시인 부산에서 상업지역을 제외하면, 모든 지역에서 북풍계열의 바람이 우세하였으며, 풍속의 빈도분포는 l~3 $^{m}/_{s}$에서 상업지역, 공업지역, 해안지역 그리고 농업지역순으로 높은 빈도를 보였으나, 또한 지역별 평균풍속과 최대풍속은 해안지역, 상업지역, 농업지역 그리고 공업지역 순으로 관측되어 공업지역의 경우 국지적인 영향이 높을 것으로 생각된다. 지각농축계수는 토양기원인 Ca, K, Si는 1.0 이하의 분포를 보였으나, Cd, Cu, Pb 그리고 Zn은 10 이상의 높은 값을 나타냈으며, Pb는 공업지역, 해안지역, 상업지역 그리고 농업지역 순으로 조사되었다.

Factors Affecting Interpersonal Tolerance and Intolerance (대인 간 관용과 불관용에 영향을 주는 요인)

  • This study aimed to explore factors which can predict interpersonal tolerance and intolerance. Specifically, the study examined whether tolerance and intolerance would be explained by demographic variables, social desirability, empathy (cognitive empathy and affective empathy), fear of compassion for others, social trust, and zero-sum belief. Participants in the study were 445 adults (218 males and 227 females) who completed an online survey. Data were analyzed by using hierarchical regression analyses to control the effects of demographic variables and social desirability. The results indicated that tolerance was explained by gender, subjective socioeconomic status, social desirability, cognitive empathy, and social trust. In addition, intolerance was predicted by social desirability, fears of compassion for others, and zero-sum belief. It means that the constructs of tolerance and intolerance are distinct, and different factors predict tolerance and intolerance, respectively. Therefore, it would be necessary to develop realistic ways to promote tolerance and to prevent intolerance at the same time in order to achieve co-existence in a multicultural and diverse society.
