The Study on the Landslide Occurred in the Nongong Area in Dalseong-gun, Kyeongbuk (경상북도 달성군 논공면 일원에서 발생된 산사태의 원인)

  • The landslide occurred in the Nongong area of Dalseong - gun, Kyeongbuk, is described and analysed in terms of structural geology and clay mineralogy to understand the causes of the landslide. The result of the analyses shows that the slip direction and the scale of the landslide of the study area were controlled by the attitude of the major discontinuity planes m the area such as joints, faults and dikes. In addition, the surface of the slip planes of the landslide is composed of clay minerals, which are mostly tri - octahedral vermiculite and smectite. From this study it can be concluded that the presence of expandable clay minerals within the bedding joints and fracture zones in bed rock played an important role in causing the landslide of the study area.

P-version Finite Element Analysis of the Irregular Shaped Plates with Singularities (특이성을 갖는 비정형 평판의 p-version 유한요소해석)

  • The elastic analysis of floor slabs using the p-version of finite element method encounters stress singularities at certain types of reentrant corners, openings and cut-outs. Results obtained using the computer code based on C.deg. - hierarchic plate element formulated by Reissner-Mindlin theory are compared with theoretical predictions and with computational results reported in the literature. The convergence rate of h-, p- and hp-version can be estimated on the basis of the energy norm in global sense. If accuracy in terms of the number of degree-of-freedom is used as a criterion, the solutions presented here are the most efficient that have been published up to date. Examples are the rhombic plate with the obtuse angle of 150.deg. and the square plate with cut-outs.

  • 본 연구에서는 완경사 계단형 낙차공에서 하류수심 변화에 따른 도수 형태의 변화와 WTF 흐름 특성에 대한 분석을 수행하였다. 일정한 유량에서 하류수위를 증가시키면 도수 형태가 달라지는데 특히 계단 끝단에서 완전도수, 잠김도수(B점프), downward curved jet, upward curved jet, wave type flow(WTF)가 차례로 나타났다. 잠김도수에서는 표면 롤러 현상이 관찰되었고 curved jet에서는 큰 유속 감세 없이 파가 하류까지 전달되었다. WTF에서는 사류흐름이 바닥 recirculation 구역의 영향으로 변형되면서 wave 형태의 도수를 발생시켰다. 하류수위를 점점 증가 시키면 도수의 발생 위치가 계단 위쪽으로 이동하며 잠김도수와 WTF가 번갈아가며 발생하였다. 하류수위가 높아질수록 도수의 규모는 작아졌으며 표면 롤러도 미약해지는 경향을 보였다. 세 가지 유량조건에 따른 WTF의 규모를 비교한 결과 유량이 증가할수록 WTF의 크기가 증가하였으며 무차원화한 WTF의 형상은 거의 비슷한 것으로 나타났다. 계단형 낙차공은 기존낙차공에서 발생하는 도수와 달리 WTF가 발생되므로 이에 대한 분석이 필요하다. WTF가 발생하는 구간의 수위는 하류수위보다 높아지기 때문에 하천 설계 시 하천 접합부의 조건(구수부지설치, 제방설치 등)에 따라 wave의 높이가 설계의 중요 인자로 고려되어야 할 것이다. WTF는 지금까지의 계단형 낙차공 설계 시 고려되지 못한 부분으로서 차후에 계단형 구조물 또는 계단식 변형 구조물 설계 시 주요 자료로 활용 될 것이다.

  • 여수로는 방류량 월류시 한계류 상태와 고유속의 사류상태가 복합적으로 일어나는 흐름형태를 가지고 있어 여수로의 방류능력에 대한 평가시 수치해석 및 수리모형 실험을 통해 검증하고 있다. 여수로의 방류능력은 여수로 월류부 전면부 바닥고, 월류부 상 하류 경사, 월류웨어고 뿐만 아니라 교대 및 교각의 형상에 의해 영향을 받는다. 또한 월류웨어부를 지나 사류의 흐름양상을 보이는 천이부의 형상 및 후면 교각의 연장에 따라서도 급경사수로부의 흐름이 급변하게 된다. 국내 대부분의 여수로는 전면부의 교각(Pier)형상이 구조적인 안정성을 이유로 직벽형 설계방법을 일반적으로 채택하고 있으며 국내 및 미개척국(USBR)의 설계기준 또한 여수로 교각과 교대부의 평면 형상만을 고려할 수 있도록 제시하고 있어 국내 대부분의 수리 구조물들이 획일적인 구조물 형상을 벗어나지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 수치 및 수리모형 실험을 통해 국내 대댐에 설계되어 있는 직벽형태와 본 연구에서 제시하고 있는 켄틸러버형의 교각형상에 따른 여수로의 수리적 흐름양상 및 방류능력을 비교하여 그 효과를 검토하였다. 검토결과 켄틸러버형태의 교각이 설치된 여수로의 경우 직벽형에 비하여 전면부 수위상승 및 흐름교란이 적게 발생하였으며, 방류능력 또한 개선되는 결과를 나타내었고, 후면 교각의 연장이 길고 점차 축소될수록 급경사수로부의 흐름이 안정적인 것으로 나타났다.

  • The electronic structure of photoskinsensitizing 8-azapsoralen and 4,4',5'-trimethyl-8-azapsoralen has been investigated by the semiempirical (PM3-CI-UHF, etc) methods. The formation of molecular complexes between ground thymine and excited azapsoralen is discussed in terms of charge transfer interaction. The results indicated that the most probable orientation through C4-cycloaddition of 3,4-double bond of azapsoralen and 5,6-double bond of thymine bases, expecially photoadducts were inferred to be a trans-anti azapsoralen(3,4) < > Thymine(5,6) and trans-anti 4,4',5'-trimethyl-8-azapsoralen (3,4) < > Thymine(5,6).

  • Steel beams are one of primary member and those carries the horizontal load and floor load to axial member. To avoid structural failure when the steel beams are exposed to fire, fire resistance performance requires. Till now, the evaluation for fire resistance of the beam was conducted using the maximum load and standard fire curve defined in the KS F 2257. But recently the constructional patterns are changing toward multi-function performance to get a better structural performance and fire resistance as well. In this paper to get the databases for fire resistance, limiting temperatures of the beam, load-bearing fire tests according to load ratios, two grades of compressive concrete strengths were applied.

  • MO studies have been carried out on 1,5-hydrogen shifts between tautomeric forms (6${\pi}$ system) of ${\beta}$-diketones, ${\beta}$-thioxoketones and ${\beta}$-dithioketones by determining transition state and analyzing structural stability effects on the activation barriers using MNDO method. The barrier was found to increase with the stability of the ground state having greater charge separation and with the increase (less stabilization) in the one electron energy ${\Delta}(2\sum\limits^{occ}{\varepsilon}i)^{\neq}$ in the activation process.

  • The failure mechanism of a hollow bridge deck which is made of glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP) is investigated using both experiments and analysis. While the load-displacement behavior of the deck in the transverse direction shows a strong nonlinearity even in its initial response with relatively small magnitude of loads. In order to imporve the structural behavior of the deck in the transverse direction, we suggested that the empty space of the bridge deck is filled with a foam and investigated experimentally the static behavior of the orthotropic bridge deck which is made from GFRP and polyurethane foam. It is found that although the elastic modulus of the foam compared to that of the GFRP is about the order of $10^{-3}$, the structural behaviors in the weak axis such as nominal strength, stiffness, etc. are greatly improved. Owing to the low mass density of the foam used in this study, the bridge deck is still light enough with the improved structural properties.

  • The composite metal deck plate system has been widely used of late for office structures. However, composite floor decks are bored imprudently for installation in building equipment. In this study, experimental investigations of bored composite steel deck slabs were performed to evaluate the flexural capacity of each specimen. The variables set were the shapes and positions of the openings in the composite slabs. The results were analyzed in the form of load-displacement graphs and with respect to the ductility and energy dissipation capacity ofeach specimen to evaluate its structural capacity.

  • In this study, hydraulic characteristics for upstream migration of fish in a pool-and-weir fishway were analyzed through experiment. The results showed that streaming flow was preferable to plunging flow for upstream migration of fish and it was not good to make an orifice beneath the septum since it generates turbulent jet and eddies. Protrusions on the side wall of fishway were preferable to grooves since they decelerate flow velocity and make upstream migration easy. A vertically movable septum was necessary for a flushing of deposited bed material, and net installing over fishway was also needed for birds not to approach the fishway and eat fish.
