본 연구의 시사점과 제한점 및 장래 연구의 과제가 논의되었다.iments and numerical analysis of luminescence efficiency in the hole carrier transport layer's thicknes.

  • This study analyzes the difference of search efforts and labor market performance between employed searchers and unemployed searchers, using GOMS(Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey) data collected by Korea Employment Information Service. The results show that unemployed searchers concentrated on the job search more actively, and their reservation wage decreased more rapidly than that of employed searchers. Therefore, considering only new jobs, the probability of employment was lower and the wage was higher for employed searchers than for unemployed searchers. However, both the employment probability and the wage were higher for the employed searchers, if analyzing all jobs including existing jobs of employed searchers. The results of this study imply that the employed search may be more effective strategy than the unemployed search.

  • This study examines how the rate of transition between employment and non-employment changes with the business cycle using monthly panel data constructed from 2000-2013 Korea Labor and Income Panel Study(KLIPS). In particular, we investigate whether the transition rates are different across demographic groups when the labor market is depressed. We find that, as the labor market weakens, the transition rate into non-employment significantly increases. The rates of transition into non-employment are substantially higher for female, older and less educated groups than those for male, prime-aged and more educated groups.

  • Despite continuous efforts of the government, youth joblessness in Korea has remained as a top policy priority. At this end, the study focuses on the causes of youth labor market problems and tries to seek for policy directions. While the previous research attempted to explain youth joblessness based on the labor demand and supply, this study follows a job search model which emphasizes a job matching process. A theoretical model and empirical results predict that a mean duration of unemployment could decrease if an implicit income of unemployment declines or a rate of job offer rises. From policy point of view, it is advisable to raise incentives for labor demand and to strengthen employment services because a policy to lower an implicit income of unemployment may not secure policy target efficiency.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze how much demographic and disability-related characteristics influence the quality of life that employed and unemployed disabled people, and determine difference in the influence of those factors between the two disabled groups. For this purpose, the study utilized 1st-year(2016) data from the 2nd wave of the Korean Panel Study on Employment for the Disabled. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, employment is a critical factor that influences the disabled's quality of life. Besides, there are some financial, socio-relational and physical factors on which that quality is heavily dependent. Second, employed disabled people's quality of life is even more influenced by financial factors, socio-relational factors and health state than demographic factors. Third, unemployed disabled people's quality of life is significantly influenced by some demographic factors like gender and age and some physical factors like disability grade and disability period as well as by factors found influencing employed disabled people's quality of life. Thus, the two disabled groups are different from each other in which factors influence their quality of life. Based on these findings, this study made suggestions for the disabled's better quality of life.

  • This study analyzed the work and retirement behavior of middle- and old-aged Koreans using panel-data based multi-state life table models. Compared to previous studies that have mainly focused on gender differences in the work and retirement behavior, this study also analyzed educational differences in the retirement life course. With respect to the heterogeneity of work and retirement experiences, this study finds that the retirement life course of men and women differs substantially. Despite their longer life spans, women are expected to have shorter working life expectancies but live in a non-working state longer, resulting in a substantially higher proportion of non-working state in their lives. In terms of educational differences, this study finds that there is little difference in the expected length of stay in the labor force across educational levels but that poorly educated persons are more likely to spend a greater proportion of their lives in the labor force due to their shorter non-working life expectancies.
