The Proto-Humanistic Theory of Art: Focused on Cennino Cennini's Il Libro dell'Arte (최초의 인문주의 미술이론: 첸니노 첸니니의 『미술의 책』을 중심으로)

  • This paper analyzes the main characteristics of proto-humanistic art theory in the book Il Libro dell'Arte by the artist of the early Renaissance, Cennino Cennini. His book, written in the late 14th century, opened the door to the Renaissance and attempted to make art independent from the poetic implications and rhetoric of literature for the first time in history. Cenini tried to have the creative nature of art, especially painting, recognized by society. Since Cennini's will became the starting point for the development of great art theories published by Alberti and Leonardo in the 15th and 16th centuries, the historical necessity of studying Cennini is fully acknowledged. Therefore, this paper examines the historical achievements of Cenini as an art theorist, who aroused academic interest in the social status of artists as well as the intellectual potential of art. Chapter 1 of this paper first examines the background of the birth of Libro. In the main body of this paper, the theoretical characteristics of Cennini's Libro as the first humanistic art theory are categorized into three areas: 1) the relationship between painting and liberal arts, 2) disegno as a bridge between mind and hand, and 3) pedagogy of painting. Through this process, this paper discovered that Libro combined practical guidelines and ethical recommendations for painting through its unique non-systematic structure. Cennini's attempt is defined as a historical practice for the intellectual emancipation of art and a historical foundation that provides inspiration for the production of Renaissance humanistic art theory.

Picture Book and Famous Paintings Art Programs : Effect on Young Children's Artistic Appreciation and Artistic Expression (그림책과 명화를 활용한 미술프로그램이 유아의 미술 감상능력과 미술 표현능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study of the effectiveness of various art programs took place in Gwangju with asample of 60 four- to five-year-old children from three kindergartens. The children were assigned to one of three experimental groups : 20 children in the picture book group(experimental group 1), 20 children in the famous paintings group(experimental group 2), and 20 children in the traditional group(control group). Data were analyzed by ANCOVA using the scores of the pre-test as covariance. Results showed that the picture book and the famous painting art programs affected young children's art ability more positively than the traditional art program. The picture book art program showed particularly high educational effectiveness.

The Endpaper Types of Bologna Ragazzi Award Korean Picturebooks (볼로냐 라가치상을 수상한 한국 그림책의 면지 유형)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the type of endpapers in Korean picturebooks that won the Bologna Ragazzi Award. The endpapers were classified by three standards: identities between front endpapers and back endpapers, type of arts, and type of contents. As results, picturebooks with identities between front endpapers and back endpapers were slightly more than ones with unidentities. Most of art types were illustrated, followed by patterned and plain. In addition, the peritextual contents were found to be the most frequently used content type in endpapers. The results showed that the most endpapers of the Korean picturebooks that won the Bologna Ragazzi Award were related to the text contents, which suggests the important roles of endpapers in picturebook activities.

  • 어린이가 보는 책으로만 여겨졌던 그림책이 이제는 남녀노소 함께 즐기는 문화가 되었다. 게다가 이제는 종이만을 이용한 그림책이 아닌 미술과 영상 등 다양한 매체와 결합해 새로운 미학을 창조하고 있다. 지난 10여 년 동안 우리나라의 그림책은 비약적인 발전을 이뤄왔다. 아동 서적으로 여겨지던 과거와 달리 최근에는 국내외에서 인정받는 수준 높은 그림책들이 속속 선을 보이면서, 그림책은 어린이와 어른들이 함께 즐기는 것이라는 인식이 확산되고 있다. 이러한 경향을 반영하듯 CJ그림책축제와 볼로냐국제도서전원화전이 동시에 열리고 있다.

  • NFT art is a new art formed based on NFT technology. This is attracting great attention in the existing art world and art market. Therefore, it is required to analyze whether NFT art can establish itself as a new area of art. Therefore, the formation and development process of NFT art is analyzed from the perspective of Actor-Network Theory of Science and Technology and Studies, and the case of NFT artist 'beeple' is a representative example. It also discusses the artistic value of NFT art and its relationship with traditional art networks based on the aesthetics of science and technology researcher Graham Harman. In particular, it analyzes the future and genre sustainability of NFT art through the case of NFT project "Cryptopunks" and "PUNKISM" advocating a new art genre. By analyzing NFT art with ANT, I would like to raise a technical, aesthetic, and philosophical questions and propose a positive prospect as a new art genre.
