This study emphasizes the importance of the mission concept in managing the public programs by the government rather than the existing quantitative output. To this end, a case study for 7 representative National R&D Programs in Korea is presented, based on the program portfolio model using the mission construct suggested by the prior researches, in order to give its empirical validity and strategic meaning. For the case analysis, the study devises the measures to evaluate the level of the mission in a program in the aspect of achievement and appropriateness. Real data collected from NTIS are analyzed in two ways: static and dynamic perspectives. The first is conducted by differences of mission values among programs and the latter by yearly differences. Finally, it concludes the implication and the shortcoming of the study.

The study explores social enterprises' social goals by analysing their mission so as to better understand their perceptions of social problems. Based on the analysis, the study reconsiders the mission of the current era of the Korean social economy. Accordingly, self-disclosed social enterprise data were collected and analyzed using LDA topic modeling and social network analysis methods. Seven mission topics were extracted, and the network centering on key keywords was derived. The analysis results largely divided the social purposes of social enterprises into three categories: 'social purpose that social enterprises want to achieve', 'activities to achieve the purpose', and 'operation method to achieve the purpose'. The study is meaningful in that it emphasizes the importance of establishing and implementing social goals from the point of view of the social economy as well as realizing the economic value of social enterprises by analyzing their mission.

Research trend of calibration methods on the satellite microwave sensors was summarized in this paper. In addition, current operational or following near-future Earth observing satellite missions were introduced. According to these missions, the particular calibration methods on the corresponding microwave instruments were described. The main characteristics of the sensors and their scientific missions were also briefly explained.

A transmission control cable connects the transmission control arm and the control lever mechanically and transfers control effort exerted by a driver to the transmission. It also transfers vibration generated by the engine to the passenger room through mechanical connection. To understand vibration and noise transfer mechanism and to further find a way to suppress the transmission of vibration effectively, a dependable dynamic vibration model is a necessity. A vibration model for a transmission control cable is developed and a simulation study has been conducted to obtain mode frequencies and a transmittability. The resonance frequencies obtained by an harmonic analysis is compared with the noise level measurement data. The measurement agrees with the simulation result thus ensures the reliability of the model.

우주를 관측하기 위한 대부분의 천문학 미션을 위한 인공위성은 광학계를 가지는 망원경 구조물과 관측기기를 포함하고 있다. 망원경 구조물은 작은 렌즈 광학계에서 미터급의 대형 미러 광학계에 이르기까지 다양하며, 관측기기에 포함된 광학계는 그 용도에 따라서 다양한 형태를 보여준다. 이러한 광학계는 광기계 설계를 통한 광학계 지지구조물을 필수적으로 설계하며, 이 광기계 설계는 광학적 성능을 만족시키면서 광학계가 발사체의 진동, 충격 및 열진공의 우주환경을 모두 견뎌낼 수 있도록 설계해야만 한다. 이 발표에서는 최근 한국에서 수행한 천문우주 미션 경험을 바탕으로 실제 적용된 광학계 마운팅 기법을 사례별로 정리하고 그 연구결과를 소개하고자 한다.

미션 크리티컬 영역의 실시간 소프트웨어의 프로세스들은 시스템 요구사항에 맞게 제한된 시간안에 수행되도록 프로세스를 설계되고 구현되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 원자력발전소의 감시와 제어를 담당하는 MMIUNIX 소프트웨어 실시간 프로세스들을 관리 통제하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법이 원자력 발전소의 특수한 환경에 적합하게 사용할 수 있는지 알아보기 위해서 시간제약 조건 관점에서 성능평가를 수행한다.

자동차 부품 등 내구재의 파손은 긴 시간 동안 누적된 비교적 크기가 작고 빈도가 많은 입력하중에 기인하거나 상대적으로 적은 수의 큰 입력하중에 의해 유발된다. 미션 프로파일화(Mission Profiling)와 미션 합성(Mission Synthesis)은 어느 시험실에서나 공통된 장비를 이용하여 실제 환경에서 제품이 받는 동일한 수준의 피로 손상도를 보장하면서 훨씬 단축된 시험을 구현할 수 있는 시험 규격을 만들어 내는 과정이다. 이 글에서는 최신의 기술을 이용하여 이와 같은 가속화 진동내구 시험의 목적을 이루는 것에 관해서 소개한다.

뉴스디지털 시스템 구축을 시작한지 벌써 만 2년이 된다. 월드컵의 함성이 채 가시지 않은 2002년 7월 2일 SBS 뉴스디지털팀은 보도, 기술, 전산, 데이터정보, 영상편집 등 다양한 직종의 7명의 열혈 청년들로 구성돼 돛을 올렸다. 마치 미지의 세계를 향해 머나먼 항해를 떠나는 탐험대처럼.. 어쩌면 험난한 질곡을 스스로 극복하며 싸워나가야 하는 전사들처럼.. 그래서 우리팀은 스스로를 ‘황야의 7인’이라고 불렀다. 그리고 우리는 오로지 하나의 목표인 ‘목동 신사옥의 뉴스디지털화’를 위해서 전력투구하기로 다짐했다. 우리는 이 목표를 ‘미션(Mission)’이라 불렀다. 미션은 ‘사명’이다.
