It is the important event which is to affect economic geography and local development greatly. New cultural changes are characterized by variations from abstract discourse to concrete reality and show the emphasis on real project specific in the region. Further more, possibility of local development in the glocalization found in the specific form of cultural content, for example, Korean Wave. New media environment changes that include SNS function not only interact each other in space but also expand the scope of local units and cultural content to the world. In order to enhance the further development of local content, it will require conjunction with space and specific region, variety of organic link between the principal participants, and building infrastructure for future development.
$I$ $am$$a$$Weasel$ > is a radically different communicative form in several ways. It innovatively utilizes podcast, a kind of internet radio format while dealing actively with thorny political issues and scandals in much direct and challenging fashion. Also this program adopts politically-charged parody, sharp critique of current socio-political issues, as well as lively dialogues through which the program provides both acute political awareness and entertainment. As a new kind of talk show and an alternative media form, this program has gained much popularity and attention since its appearance. Considering the fact that the journalistic fields and public spheres are in disarray through the government intervention and wrought with fierce partisanship and political polarization, the role of this program needs to be examined both cautiously and contextually. This study aims to shed some lights on the multifaceted and much contentious role of $I$ $am$$a$$Weasel$ > through a textual reading and discourse analysis, as well as email interviews.
This study aims to trace the main tendency found in Korean broadcasting news coverage of terror throughout the kidnapping of Sun Il Kim. For this purpose, this study analyzed the contents of 386 news stories found in KBS, MBC, and SBS. Through this process, it investigated the main theme and source found in the coverage of kidnapping. In addition, it analyzed how the press described Al Tawhid Al Jihad, known as the organization who kidnapped Mr. Kim and how well the press transmit the social, historical background of terror. As a result, the dominant theme found in three news company was that which dealt with investigations about suspicions about kidnapping and suspicions related to the kidnapping. However, the voice against dispatching armed forces and the demand of terrorist were seldom found in the coverage. The news sources which three broadcasting news depended on heavily was governmental officials and the media including Al Jazeera was also main source. The description of Al Tawhid Al Jihad by the press was somewhat negative and the expression 'militarized forces' were found mostly. The news which announced the social, historical background of terror were minimal, which indicated that the coverage of terror in Korean broadcasting was still episodic.
This study explores the importance of semantic web-based network construction in art data archiving, as well as its meaning and value in the context of arts management along with its potential for future application. The study focuses on oral history obtained from the Arko Arts Archives that contained records of the lives and artistic views of early artists. In this study, the possibility of applying semantic web-based technology to materials concerning culture and the arts was discussed in five aspects based on the results of the case analysis. First, checking the relationship and discovering hidden artists are possible by revealing relationships between characters. Second, understanding and studying society and culture at a given time is possible by interpreting the contextual meaning of information. Third, art exploration can be done broadly and deeply, encompassing various genres from the perspective of the consumer. Fourth, through art construction, history can be reconstructed using a new and rich method. Fifth, expanding the scope beyond the boundaries of art is possible through convergence and collaboration of programs that handle big data. The network data can be used in various methods, such as art history research, art planning, and creation, throughout the art ecosystem. The results of the study suggest that digitizing a large quantity of data concerning culture and the arts is meaningful in arts management as well as identifying and analyzing the relationship network among data clusters using semantic web-based technology.
New media moved the place of social exchange to the Internet, allowing large groups to communicate in one place beyond the limits of time and space. Recent studies have also reported cases in which human social abilities do not keep up with the expansion of group scale through social media. In this context, current study investigated how human perception of social information is affected by the expansion of the group scale in the context of majority bias. Using Internet-based task, the psychological processes that group ratio and group size are perceived and affect majority-biased social information use were investigated, and whether group scale moderates those processes was examined. The group ratio has a positive effect on the majority bias, and the relationship was partially mediated by ratio perception. Group scale did not moderate the relationship between group ratio and ratio perception. On the other hand, the correlation between group size and majority-biased social information use was not significant. Group scale moderates group size perception. The group size and size perception showed positive correlation under the smaller group scale condition. However under the extended group scale condition, the perceived group size became significantly lower and lost its correlation with group size. These results provide evidence that the psychological mechanism related to group size perception was not properly responding to the expansion of the group scale. Furthermore, the possibility of a specific psychological mechanism for processing group size information and the form of information input specifically accepted by majority bias were discussed from perspective of evolutionary psychology.
In 21 century, Game industry became one field of the cultural content industries. Also, It is one of the most important technologies as a Multimedia, 3-D sound, virtual reality field, and character industry and its scale and effect are getting big. In the mean time, The game market of children(under 8) is the biggest one, which form over 30% of all the markets in the PC game market of America. The Children's game, which has both entertaining and educating, is a content-concerned industry. So with a short period of the developing time, they make a high value added. This study, by analyzing two recent television dramas, attempts to identify the ways how popular cultural texts deal with supernatural beings and to discuss political meanings of the ways in the context of neoliberal Korea. The results are: (1) The narratives make a clear line between the supernatural and the ordinary. (2) The supernatural is effectively used in the narratives to extend the boundary of conflict structure towards structural social problems that the society is now facing. (3) When the text resolving the conflicts, the supernatural is also critical, which makes the whle narrative in line with fantasy rather than reality. These results suggest that the conclusion of the previous studies, arguing the use of the supernatural by popular cultural texts tends to function as a form of resistance against neoliberal discourse structure, needs to be negotiated. It is also reaffirmed that we need to explain political meanings of popular cultural texts dealing with supernatural beings, with its double-sided and ambivalent effects.
Fast developing digital technology is Having an enormous societal influence, creating a porous new world without boundaries. This phenomenon applies to a whole range of fields, including culture, politics and even our daily lives. Urban Street cannot be excluded from this world-transforming change. Digital technology is changing the physical structure, growing patterns, function and role of the Urban Street. As a result, Urban Street should now be freeing themselves from the old-world functionalism, which has been pursued uniformly under the names of rationality and efficiency. We have, then, to think about the culture of the Digital Urban Street,'that is, the digital life style, which is tangibly generated in the concrete city space, and which must be prepared for further digitalization. This paper argues that the street must be understood as a communications centre, because digital technology has created a new communications style. Also, this paper focuses on how the physical environment of Urban Street will evolve with regard to both function and appearance. In conclusion, studying the ubiquitous space, it also looks at how existing urban planning and space design should lead to the further development of Urban Street using digital technology, as well as to the role this technology will have in the future.

Using the interactions, the learners navigating this virtual world are able to construct their own information system through selecting a interested one among the offered contents in the system and consequently they are getting a scientific thinking power and a creative imagination.
This research defines Pope Francis's visit to Korea in August 2014 and the reactions from journalism to it as a case to show the discursive potential of mediated religion for social change. It analyzes the editorials and the columns on the Pope in five daily newspapers including the Chosunilbo, the Dong-A Ilbo, the Joongang Daily, the Hankyoreh, and the Kyunghyang Shinmun. Since the Pope receives positive evaluations for his remarks and behaviors during the visit from most of those articles, this research categorizes the values identified with the Pope and those with the "anti-Pope" into a form of binary oppositions, and interpret the meanings of the rhetorical strategies. The findings suggest that a consistent narrative is constructed by journalism regarding the harsh reality of Korea and the ways to overcome its structural problems. Based on the findings, I argue that mediated religion in this case is expected by the secular society to do its role for social change by being a provider of progressive and alternative values.
