Characterization Method and Color Matching Technology for Mobile Display (모바일 디스플레이를 위한 특성화 방법과 색 정합 기술)

  • This paper proposes a color-matching 3D look-up table that simplifies the complex color-matching procedure between a monitor and a mobile display device, where the image colors are processed in a device-independent color space, such as CIEXYZ or CIELAB, and gamut mapping performed to compensate the gamut difference. The transform from a device-dependent RGB color space to a device-independent color space is implemented by performing display characterization. The mobile LCD characterization error using the S-curve model is larger than the tolerance error since the mobile LCD has the channel-chromaticity-inconstancy and channel-dependence characteristics. In this paper we reduced the characterization error using the electro-optical transfer functions of X, Y, and Z value for R, G, B, C, M, Y, K components. Experimental results demonstrated that 64 ($4{\times}4{\times}4$) was the smallest size of color-matching look-up table that could produce an image with an acceptable reproduction error, based on a comparison of color-matched images resulting from the proposed color-matching look-up table and complex step-by-step color-matching procedures.

  • With recent development of virtual reality technology, coupled with the growth of the marine industry, virtual underwater simulation systems are under development in various studies, for educational purposes and to simulate virtual reality experiences. Current literature indicates many underwater simulation systems to date have focused on the quality of visual stimulus delivered through three-dimensional graphics user interface, limiting the reality of the experience. In order to improve the quality of the reality delivered by such virtual simulations, it is crucial to develop multi-sensory technology rather than focus on the conventional audio-visual interaction, which limits experiencer from the sense of underwater immersion and existence within the simulation. This work proposes the immersive multi-sensory effector system, delivering the users with a more realistic underwater experience. The sense of reality perceived was evaluated, as the main factor of the virtual reality system.

FLIR and CCD Image Fusion Algorithm Based on Adaptive Weight for Target Extraction (표적 추출을 위한 적응적 가중치 기반 FLIR 및 CCD 센서 영상 융합 알고리즘)

  • In automatic target recognition(ATR) systems, target extraction techniques are very important because ATR performance depends on segmentation result. So, this paper proposes a multi-sensor image fusion method based on adaptive weights. To incorporate the FLIR image and CCD image, we used information such as the bi-modality, distance and texture. A weight of the FLIR image is derived from the bi-modality and distance measure. For the weight of CCD image, the information that the target's texture is more uniform than the background region is used. The proposed algorithm is applied to many images and its performance is compared with the segmentation result using the single image. Experimental results show that the proposed method has the accurate extraction performance.

  • Natural Phenomena are simulated to make computer users feel verisimilitude and be immersed in games or virtual reality. The important factor in simulating fluid such as water or sea using 3D rendering technology in games or virtual reality is real-time interaction and reality. There are many difficulties in simulating fluid models because it is controlled by many equations of each specific situation and many parameter values. In addition, it needs a lot of time in processing physically-based simulation. In this paper, I suggest simplified fluid-surface model in order to represent interaction between rigid body and fluid, and it can make faster simulation by improved processing. Also, I show movement of fluid surface which is come from collision of rigid body caused by reaction of fluid in representing interaction between rigid body and fluid surface. This natural fluid-surface model suggested in this paper is represented realistically in real-time using fluid dynamics veri similarly. And the fluid-surface model will be applicable in games or animation by realizing it for PC environment to interact with this.

A Study on The Desire of Subject and Digital Image (주체의 욕망과 디지털 영상에 관한 연구)

  • A subject always follows desire caused by primal lack which exceeds its desire on survival. At this time, the immediacy provided by vision and the excellence of information become important means in mediating the object of the desire. The subject who is attracted to the vision and image toward desire cannot get out of the trap of the image. When the film raised unconsciousness to pleasure while reproducing the desire of 'mirror image', the digital image presents a virtual experience on the desire of subject by dominating audience with its perfect image regardless of the existence of the object. This study attempted to prove that unconsciousness of subject has close relation with digital image, which takes other's desire as its own by wrongly identifying other's desire as its own desire and captivates subject by the experience of desiring. According to the result of study, digital image escalates the imaginary desire of subject through the virtuality of image close to reality and captivates subject by giving pleasure to the unconsciousness of subject as a path in going along with the desire of other.

An Incremental Web Document Clustering Based on the Transitive Closure Tree (이행적 폐쇄트리를 기반으로 한 점증적 웹 문서 클러스터링)

  • In document clustering methods, the k-means algorithm and the Hierarchical Alglomerative Clustering(HAC) are often used. The k-means algorithm has the advantage of a processing time and HAC has also the advantage of a precision of classification. But both methods have mutual drawbacks, a slow processing time and a low quality of classification for the k-means algorithm and the HAC, respectively. Also both methods have the serious problem which is to compute a document similarity whenever new document is inserted into a cluster. A main property of web resource is to accumulate an information by adding new documents frequently. Therefore, we propose a new method of transitive closure tree based on the HAC method which can improve a processing time for a document clustering, and also propose a superior incremental clustering method for an insertion of a new document and a deletion of a document contained in a cluster. The proposed method is compared with those existing algorithms on the basis of a pre챠sion, a recall, a F-Measure, and a processing time and we present the experimental results.

  • In Information age, The academic liberal art computer education course set up goals to promote computer literacy and develop the ability to cope with changes in information society and improve productivity and national competitiveness. In this paper, we analyze on discovering of decisive variable and satisfaction index to have a influence on computer education on university students. As a preprocessing course, the proposed method selects optimum variable using correlation based feature selection(CFS) of machine learning tool based on Java and we calculate weighted value for each variable and then, we generate the optimal variable using weighted value based on fuzzy decision making method. we proposed Fuzzy decision making method in analysis of the academic liberal art computer education satisfaction index data and checked the accuracy of the satisfaction evaluation by using recall and precision.

Junk-Mail Filtering by Mail Address Validation and Title-Content Weighting (메일 주소 유효성과 제목-내용 가중치 기법에 의한 스팸 메일 필터링)

  • It is common that a junk mail has an inconsistency of mail addresses between those of the mail headers and the mail recipients. In addition, users easily know that an email is a junk or legitimate mail only by looking for the title of the email. In this paper, we tried to apply the filtering classifiers of mail address validation check and the combination method of title-content weighting to improve the performance of junk mail filtering system. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we performed an experiment by applying them to Naive Bayesian classifier. The experiment includes the unit testing and the combination of the filtering techniques. As a result, we found that our method improved 11.6% of recall and 2.1% of precision that it contributed the enhancement of the junk mail filtering system.

Automatic Color Transformation of Characters Between 2D Animation Scenes Using Neural Network (신경회로망을 이용한 2D 애니메이션 장면 간의 캐릭터 자동 색 변환)

  • Colors of 2D animation characters are generally assigned by art directors' subjective color sense. Even same characters should be colored differently according to the mood of animation scenes. In this study, we introduce the model for automatic color transformation of characters by using neural network. It can not only create automatically colors of characters which are good matched with 2D animation scenes but also reproduce art directors' subjective color sense. Specifically, this neural network model is initially made to learn the patterns of color change between basic colors of characters and colors of characters in various scene. Then if you know basic colors of some characters, you can derive colors of characters under other light source environments using the learned neural network. Subjective ratings(which is adopted to verify the proposed model) by color experts on the automatically transformed colors showed that the colors created by the model tended to be evaluated natural.

  • General lighting will be replaced into LED due to the high efficiency, low power consumption, long life than conventional light, moreover, since it is a basically semiconductor device that can convert the electric energy to visible light at a very high speed, using these characteristics can be performed communication modulation via the high-speed ON-OFF switching. Recently, visible light communication (VLC: Visible Light Communication) technology is received attention and there have been many researches. This paper is implemented media signal transmission by combining LED with VLC, a transmitter used the LED light-emitting device and receiver used an infrared sensor. In order to increase the efficiency of the communication system to improve the existing LED visible light communication driver of power conversion efficiency and thermal issues that is applied to the visible light communication in order to improve the speed of transmission media to research a new way of LED driver.
