This paper presents a simulation-based design reliability estimation method of a low-energy exploding foil initiator (LEEFI) using a meta-model and describes the design reliability estimation results. The flyer velocity of the LEEFI is critical to initiate the explosive. Evaluation of the flyer velocity from mechanistic models in open literature requires a long computation time due to the multi-physical phenomena that generate the velocity. Moreover, the higher levels of confidence required for an initiator with high reliability incur higher computation costs. Thus, a meta-model of the flyer velocity over time was constructed in order to increase the computational efficiency for a reliable estimation. For different distributions and sigma levels of the design variables, the design reliability estimation results using the meta-model are provided. Additionally, the computational efficiency and accuracy of the estimation method are analyzed.
Application of heat recovery system applying air supply and cexhaust ventilation device essential in energy management system for the optimum ventilation system utilization and energy saving. This is a key element of infrastructure technology for high-efficiency energy buildings, because it can save heating and cooling energy in winter and summer. In this paper, heat transfer efficiency was simulated using paper, plastic, and aluminum materials that was examined to compare heat exchanger performance under uniform flow conditions. We tested heat transfer efficiengy according to the shape of two of that, one is orthogonal and the other is refraction shape. Based on the simulation results, it is expected to contribute to the production of high performance heat exchanger with heat transfer performance and pressure loss.

This paper deals with study of a new framework for the traceback of distributed DoS(Denial of Service) attacks in the Internet, in which many sources flood "spoofed" IP packets towards a single victim. In our scheme, the destination host traces those anonymous packets' losses, and infers the logical end-to-end paths back towards the sources. This method is based on the fact that there is a strong correlation between packet losses when those packets traverse along a same route, and the simulation results show high probabilities of detecting the topology under a certain condition. Compared with previous approaches, our scheme has a number of distinct features: It can be performed in realtime or non-realtime, without any supports of routers or ISPs. Our results may be applied to the inference of physical topology and to support previous approaches.pproaches.

Development of 5th generation mobile telecommunication technology is visualizing ideal hyper-connected social information and communication technology (ICT). In particular, virtual reality (VR) technology is at the starting point for new expansion and leaps. This work defines virtual reality as media in this context and collects and analyzes discourse on its scalability around space and communication theory. We first elaborated the concept, starting with the early discussions of the virtual reality concept in 1990, and discussed the relationship between the physical world and digital information, expression and interaction immersion as a medium, simulation, art creation theory, and finally evolutionary development. In conclusion, beyond the discourse on the technology of virtual reality, academic subjects were required to have theoretical frameworks on cognitive science, neuroscience, social science, and humanities issues (ethics, personality, etc.) for the development and evolution of virtual reality. In other words, it is time for the evolution of virtual reality to be discussed, which can be moved beyond.

Environmental monitoring applications measure temporature, humidity, and pollution degrees of large areas periodically and are essential for ubiquitous society. In this paper, we propose a sensor network MAC protocol that is applicable to environmental monitoring applications. The proposing MAC protocol has scalability by constructing multiple groups of sensor nodes as in SMAC protocol. Differently from SMAC protocol, however, ours have hierarchical structure between adjacent groups. Data transmission schedules are efficient since lower groups are synchronized to higher groups. Thus. the end-to-end delays and energy consumption can be reduced due to sequential transmission schedules. But since the nodes within the same group are synchronized to themselves. they have good adaptability and scalability compared to existing hierarchical approaches such as DMAC. We show by simulations that the proposing MAC protocol is superior to SMAC for environmental monitoring applications.

There has been a recent surge of interest in the Digital Twin technology. The Digital Twin is technique for optimizing objects by simulating physical phenomena or objects through computer-based simulations. Currently, single Digital Twin is being developed to optimize processes limited to specific fields, but there is a limitation in that the independent Digital Twins cannot analyze the vast and complex processes of the real world. To overcome this, the concept of federated Digital Twin has been introduced. To date, the federated Digital Twin research has primarily focused on how to optimize macroscopic objects such as cities. However, by leveraging the interconnected nature of twins, existing implementations of the single Digital Twins can be modularized. In this study, we define the concepts and interrelationships of the single Digital Twin and the federated Digital Twin from a functional perspective related to process optimization and design a modularization technique for the single Digital Twin using the federated Digital Twin. Furthermore, this study aims to discuss the proposed methodology's efficacy by designing a model applying modularization to a real-world fabric manufacturing case.
For extending of hot-spot of WLAN, (2) proposes internetworking scheme between wireless LAN (WLAN) and mobile ad-hoc network (MANET), which employ the same layer-2 protocol with different mode. Compared to internetworking schemes between UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications Systems) and WLAN (3-4), the scheme from (2) has relatively low overhead and latencies because WLAN and MANET are physically and logically similar to each other. However, the mode switching algorithm proposed in r2] for internetworking between WLAN and MANET only considers signal strength and determines handoff, and mobile nodes following a zigzag course in pollution area may perform handoff at short intervals. Furthermore, (2) employs mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) at base, which brings still high delay on handoff and overhead due to signal message exchange. In this paper, we present optimized internetworking scheme between WLAN and MANET, modified from (2). To settle ping-pong handoff from (2), we propose adaptive mode switching algorithm. HMIPv6 is employed for IP connectivity and mobility service in WLAN, which solves some shortcomings, such as high handoff overhead and vulnerable security. For routing in MANET, OLSR is employed, which is a proactive Protocol and has optimally reduced signal broadcasting overhead. OLSR operates with current P protocol compatibly with no change or modification. The proposed internetworking scheme based on adaptive mode switching algorithm shows better performance than scheme from (2).

Maintainability indicates the extent to which maintenance can be done easily and quickly. The consideration of maintainability is crucial to reduce the operation and support costs of weapon systems, but if the maintainability is evaluated after the prototype production is done and necessitates design changes, it may increase the cost and delay the schedule. The evaluation should verify whether maintenance work can be performed, and support the designers in developing a design to improve maintainability. In previous studies, the maintainability index was calculated using the graph theory at the early design phase, but evaluation accuracy appeared to be limited. Analyzing the methods of evaluating the maintainability using fuzzy logic and 3D modeling indicate that the design of a system with good maintainability should be done in an integrated manner during the whole system life cycle. This paper proposes a method to evaluate maintainability using SysML-based modeling and simulation technique and fuzzy logic. The physical design structure with maintainability attributes was modeled using SysML 'bdd' diagram, and the maintainability was represented by an AHP matrix for maintainability attributes. We then calculated the maintainability using AHP-based weighting calculation and fuzzy logic through the use of SysML 'par' diagram that incorporated MATLAB. The proposed maintainability model can be managed efficiently and consistently, and the state of system design and maintainability can be analyzed quantitatively, thereby improving design by early identifying the items with low maintainability.
The open data portal collects data created by public institutions and opens and shares them according to related laws. With the activation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, all sectors of our society are demanding high quality data, but the data required by the industry has not been greatly utilized due to the lack of quantity and quality. Numerous data collected in the real world can be implemented in cyber physical systems to simulate real-world problems, and alternatives to various social issues can be found. There is a limit to being provided. Location intelligence is a technology that enables existing data to be represented in space, enabling new value creation through convergence. In this study, to present location intelligence of open data, we surveyed the status of location information by data in open data portal. As a result, about 60% of the surveyed data had location information and the representative type was address. Appeared. Therefore, by suggesting location intelligence of open data based on address and how to use it, this study aimed to suggest a way that open data can play a role in creating future social data-based industry and policy establishment.
With the increasing use of drone technology, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is now being utilized in various fields. However, this increased use of drones has resulted in various issues. Due to its small size, the drone is difficult to detect with radar or optical equipment, so acoustical tracking methods have been recently applied. In this paper, a method of localization of multiple drones using the acoustic characteristics of the quadcopter drone is suggested. Because the acoustic characteristics induced by each rotor are differentiated depending on the type of drone and its movement state, the sound source of the drone can be reconstructed by spatially clustering the results of the estimated positions of the blade passing frequency and its harmonic sound source. The reconstructed sound sources are utilized to finally determine the location of multiple-drone sound sources by applying the source localization algorithm. An experiment is conducted to analyze the acoustic characteristics of the test quadcopter drones, and the simulations for three different types of drones are conducted to localize the multiple drones based on the measured acoustic signals. The test result shows that the location of multiple drones can be estimated by utilizing the acoustic characteristics of the drone. Also, one can see that the clarity of the separated drone sound source and the source localization algorithm affect the accuracy of the localization for multiple-drone sound sources.
